Chapter 1064: You Do Not Tell Me What To Do!

Enkidu was inside Theosis’ domain, so it was obvious that Theosis had set up many magical defences to prevent any harm from reaching him!

But Enkidu wasn’t here to listen to Theosis’ pointless words! Enkidu was here to confront Theosis on an important matter! Enkidu spoke while looking down at Theosis in annoyance.

"Trust me, Theosis. If I had a choice, I would not set foot in your den of disgusting debauchery. But unfortunately for me, I must set a matter straight. Tell me, Theosis, why is it that the woman bearing the Soul Bond on Jadar still lives? If I remember correctly, your mission was to kill her, was it not?"

Theosis scowled, and the tension in the room suddenly rose rapidly as the two strong-headed Apostles stared each other down! Bathseda looked from Theosis to Enkidu cautiously before Bathseda slowly moved their chair back away from them as Theosis spoke.

"I don’t see how my actions are any of your business, woman. For what reason do you dare to question what I choose to do with my mission? It is no concern of yours, and you insult my majesty by attempting to dictate my actions."

Enkidu clicked her tongue in irritation.

"You have sworn an oath to aid our mission to completion. Do not forget who it is that saved your pathetic life, Theosis."

"I owe you nothing, woman!"

DOON!

Theosis’ mana suddenly surged through the room like a wave, and Bathseda wisely decided that this was the moment to leave!

"I’ll just get out of your hair now so you two can settle your differences undisturbed. Please let me know if you are in need of my services later."

Bathseda didn’t even wait for a response as they simply opened a Dimensional Tear behind them and vanished into it! Neither Enkidu nor Theosis looked like they noticed Bathseda’s exit, and Enkidu spoke up in a hard voice as her mana flowed through the room and fought back against Theosis’ magic.

"You might owe me nothing, but you owe Sicario your life. And while he recovers from his brush with Death, I have been left in charge of the Court. Therefore, you answer to me, Theosis. Now explain yourself."

Enkidu left no room for argument in her tone, and Theosis felt a surge of anger going through him as he heard the woman ordering him around! Being told what to do by a woman was the last thing Theosis would ever tolerate! But even someone as egotistical as he understood just how much he owed to Sicario, and it was only out of that respect that Theosis decided to answer in a short, clipped tone:

"I was told to handle her as I saw fit. And this is how I saw fit to handle things. My methods are not yours to question."

Enkidu slashed her hand across the room with a growl, and more than a hundred of Theosis’ homunculi were immediately wrapped in millions of writhing roots that tore themselves out from the ground! The entire castle seemed to shake in Enkidu’s anger, but Theosis didn’t even react as Enkidu shouted!

"Do you have no understanding of what you have done!? This plan hinged on your ability to eradicate that woman before she could form a soul bond with Jason Marc! How dare you defy Sicario’s order and carry out your own selfish agenda!"

"Do not lecture me about agenda, woman! I am more than aware of what I have done! I cannot expect one like yourself to understand the magnificence of my genius, so I will do my best to explain it to you in a way that your feeble mind can comprehend! That woman named Agiel is more than just a simple soul bond! She is the perfect partner! A vessel of magnificent magic that can turn the very Primordial Expanse on its head! She will be wasted in death, and I refuse to lose such a valuable trophy without attempting to make it my own!"

Enkidu felt her fury growing even more as she heard this!

"So that is what this is!? You’re trying to make her into one of your slaves!? You’re willing to ruin our leader’s plans just to gain another puppet! I always knew it was a mistake to grant you an Arcane Art! You lack the urgency needed to be a part of our Court!"

Theosis threw his head back and laughed!

"Your court!? This is not your court! You own nothing! Everything we are and have was built upon Sicario’s desire for vengeance! And Sicario had granted me the freedom to perform my duties in any way I see fit! His only request was that I do not kill Jason Marc, and I have done my best to hold back regardless of how much I despise that bastard! Do not attempt to give me any order unless you wish to see my wrath, woman!"

DOON!

The entire castle shook as Theosis said this, and at the exact same time, every single homunculus in the throne room opened their eyes, and hundreds of thousands of eyes turned to look down at Enkidu with hostility! This was a declaration of war, and it showed that Theosis was more than prepared to fight Enkidu right here and now if she took things any further! And in truth, Enkidu was also ready to fight! Enkidu was already opening her eyes to reveal rainbow irises that glowed with iridescent power, and the entire castle was starting to vibrate as the intense power of the two Apostles clashed dangerously! Enkidu and Theosis had never seen eye to eye right from the first day Theosis joined the Apostles, and Enkidu had been looking for a reason to kill this man all this while!

But although Enkidu hated Theosis with a passion, Enkidu had a much greater love for Sicario, and Enkidu knew that Sicario would not want his court to fight amongst themselves like this. Enkidu took in a harsh breath as she did her best to rein in her anger, and Theosis waited patiently for Enkidu to do something! Theosis knew that Enkidu was strong, but no matter how strong she was, this was still his domain, and he knew Enkidu was not capable of overpowering him within his own domain!

Finally, after a few tense moments, Enkidu fully reigned in her magic, and she let out one last harsh breath before she closed her eyes and spoke to Theosis in a hard voice:

"You had better pray that your plan works, Theosis. Because if it does not, and Agiel ends up bonding her soul to Jason, you will have to answer to Sicario himself. Bathseda!"

Enkidu looked up without bothering to wait for Theosis’ response, and she shouted in a loud voice towards Bathseda! A dimensional circle opened above her head and Bathseda appeared on their floating chair.

"Do you all enjoy the sound of my name so much that you always feel the urge to shout it so rudely? You should know that calling upon me calmly will yield similar results. I am always here."

Enkidu clicked her tongue and turned away while saying:

"Open a gateway for me. I am leaving."

"Aww, already? I wanted to show you some of my experiments. I’ve made great advancements in my DNA splicing. Many of my babies are already developing their first genetic modifications."

Enkidu turned to look at Bathseda with a frown, and even with her eyes closed, Bathseda could still feel her intense glare! Bathseda decided that this was not the right time for showing anything off, and they put their hand out and activated the Dimensional Tear for Enkidu to leave!
