Chapter 910: Beast Emperor Hall’s Dilemma

Chapter 910: Beast Emperor Hall’s Dilemma

A few days later…

Bang!

A figure dropped down onto the Violet Peak like a meteor, causing it to shake violently. The disciples, servants and some weaker Elders panicked, not knowing what was happening.

“Why are you creating a commotion?” A faint voice echoed from the top of the Violet Peak.

Sanya, who had arrived just now, scowled and opened her mouth, but before she could speak, the voice sounded again, “Come up.”

“Hmph!” Sanya hurrumped and vanished from the place, leaving only a crater behind that slowly recovered after a landscape formation activated.

A moment later, Sanya was standing in front of Grand Elder Rowan, who was sitting cross-legged on a silk-mattress, his eyes closed in meditation.

“What’s the meaning of this, Grand Elder?” She coldly asked,

Grand Elder Rowan opened his eyes and calmly asked, “What do you mean?”

“Why aren’t you doing anything? Are we supposed to let that bastard go scot-free?” Sanya gnashed her teeth, murderous rage simmering in the death of her eyes.

Grand Elder Rowan stared at her without saying anything, just watching her.

When Sanya saw his gaze, she became startled because this was the same, gentle gaze he looked at her with when he first met her.

“W-What is it, Master?” She said, suddenly feeling nervous like a little girl.

Grand Elder Rowan didn’t frown like he used to when she called him Master in the past. Instead, he smiled before letting out a sigh, “Because of me, you are shouldering too much pressure, too many responsibilities that you didn’t want to carry in the first place. I’m sorry.”

“What are you saying? You never asked me to do anything. Everything I have done has been my decision.” Sanya said, her voice cold.

Seeing him look so vulnerable, she felt her heart squeeze. He was like her father, who she could not bear to see in this state. She would rather he act cold and distant like always.

Grand Elder Rowan didn’t argue seeing her reaction and said, “It’s not that I don’t want to do anything, it’s just that… I can’t.”

“You mean…?” Sanya’s eyes narrowed.

“Yes, seeing he has two Grand Elders’ support, the Venerable Hall Master has decided not to punish him too severely.” Grand Elder Rowan nodded.

“Those selfish geezers. Do they really not know what’s going on with that bastard? They do, but they are still siding with him, and the Hall Master is being too passive. She should kill him and everyone else who dares to support him. It’ll be only beneficial to the Beast Emperor Hall.” Sanya raged.

Grand Elder Rowan eyes narrowed and in a cold tone, he warned, “Not a bad word about the Venerable Hall Master.”

“Hmph.” Sanya grunted, dissatisfied.

Seeing this, Grand Elder Rowan sighed, “You don’t know how much the Venerable Hall Master has sacrificed for the Hall or how much she has endured. If not for her… the Beast Emperor Hall would have been a thing of the past by now.”

“What do you mean?” Sanya asked, confused. She usually didn’t pay much attention to the ongoing events within the Beast Emperor Hall but still, she always kept tabs on the important happenings. But until now, she hadn’t noticed the Venerable Hall Master do anything of significance. She always remained cooped up in her cultivation chamber.

’…Wait?’ Her brows furrowed.

Why would a High-Stage Emperor Mage, rumoured to be powerful enough to rival Peak Emperors, always stay in her cultivation chamber, extremely rarely stepping outside to oversee the Beast Emperor Hall?

Was it really because she had been focusing on trying to become a Peak Monarch and didn’t have time to do anything else?

She had believed this to be the case, but seeing what Grand Elder Rowan had just said and how she wondered in the past what’s Venerable Hall Master cultivating with that she hadn’t left to gather resources in hundreds of years…

“She… doesn’t dare to leave the Hall?” she asked, hoping for this to be not true.

However…

Grand Elder nodded, “Yes.”

“Why?” Sanya’s expression hardened.

Grand Elder Rowan shook his head, a helpless look on his face, “You are one of the eight Monarchs of the Beast Emperor Hall. How could you have not figured it out until now. How embarrassing! Even Valerie knows about it all.”

Sanya didn’t show any embarrassment and just stared at him. So what if she didn’t know earlier, she would know now.

Moreover, she believed in strength. If there was some problem, there was no need to use her mind to find any other solution because her fists were the best and most effective one.

Grand Elder Rowan shook his head. After a moment of silence, he said, “You are aware that our Beast Emperor Hall used to be one of the Sovereign Rank Forces, right?”

Sanya nodded.

“Our Beast Emperor Hall is one of the oldest forces. It was established by our founder when the war with the devils was being fought. We survived the war and prospered for a long period of time, but then came a time when we started declining.

When the other forces noticed this, they became greedy and began coveting our legacy since it’s quite unique and can make them even stronger.

They started moving in shadows and our top experts began vanishing. When the contemporary Venerable Hall Master noticed that, they devised a plan to protect the Beast Emperor Hall.

They destroyed the main Minor Realm which held our legacy and headquarters. It was a crippling move, but it was necessary to keep those hyenas away.

Unfortunately, while the plan was good and it was executed flawlessly, some powers became suspicious that we had already moved our legacy away before the minor realm was destroyed. So, they continued targeting the Hall.

The Venerable Hall Master was decisive. They directly opened the Hall to everyone so they could come and verify whether we had lied or not. Once they came and checked, they found that the minor realm, along with our legacy, has indeed been destroyed. Only then the suppression of other powers began to diminish.”

Sanya’s expression turned frigid upon hearing this.

She was aware the reason the Beast Emperor Hall had yet to give birth to any Peak Monarch and Quasi-Supreme in tens of thousands of years was because the Hall had lost a major part of its Legacy in an unfortunate accident. But it turned out it was not an accident… they were forced to destroy it to endure the Hall’s survival.

After a pause, Grand Elder Rowan continued, “But maybe the fate of our Hal had become too weak. The peace we bought with such sacrifice didn’t last long. For close to two thousand years now, several major forces have started targeting the Hall once again. Fortunately, they aren’t strong enough to deal with the Venerable Hall Master, and haven’t done anything over the top because they are afraid if they did that, the Venerable would lose her mind and they would suffer severe losses.”

“Do they still believe we have our legacy?” Sanya asked, blood mist churning around her.

“Not really.” Grand Elder Rowan shook his head, “What they want this time isn’t the legacy, but the Hall and resources it controls.”

“I see.” Sanya nodded, “So, the people I have been killing all this while… they are sent by these forces?”
