Chapter 905: ...Was Wrong
Chapter 905: …Was Wrong
“Hmph!” Sanya hurrumphed in displeasure and placed a hand on Valerie’s shoulder.
“Ha…” Valerie staggered slightly and gasped for breath for a moment before quickly regaining her composure. Though, one could still notice her face was paler than it was a moment earlier.
Taking a breath, she nodded at Sanya, conveying her gratitude.
Right as the voice had sounded earlier, an immense pressure had enveloped her and looked her in place. Her heart had stopped beating and even her blood was frozen in place and her connection to her dantian was cut off.
Even though Sanya had promptly acted and freed her, the helplessness she felt in that fleeting moment was really unpleasant.
She raised her head and fixed her gaze at the green-haired youth, floating there with his hands behind his back. Two people were flanking him but his presence was so overwhelming that everyone unconsciously ignored them and focused on him.
Everyone looked at him in awe, transfixed. It was only when they heard Sanya’s cold snort that they snapped back to their senses. Hurriedly, they bent their backs into deep bows and echoed: “Greetings, Lord Grimheart!”
The green-haired youth swept his gaze across the crowd, and a small smile appeared on his face.
Then his gaze fell on Rima, who was still sitting on her chair, staring at the arena, completely unaware of her surroundings and a hint of dissatisfaction flickered in his eyes.
Following that, he glanced at Sanya and Valerie before raising his hand and calmly saying, “At ease everyone.”
While the disciples began sitting down while communicating amongst each other with animated looks on their faces, a sneering, cold voice sounded out, “Aren’t you getting a little too overbearing, Inner Hall Master?”
Everyone looked over and seeing it was Sanya who had spoken, they fell silent.
Lord Grimheart looked at her, and smiled, “What do you mean by that, Elder Blood Flower?”
Sanya furrowed her brows seeing he showed no intention of coming down. Therefore, she disappeared from her place and appeared in the sky a few meters away from him.
Now standing one meter higher than him, she looked down at him and pointed at Valerie, “She is a respected Hall Master of the Inner Hall. Not only did you not address her properly, you even dared attack her. Do you think the Beast Emperor Hall’s rules no longer apply to you now that you are a Monarch?”
Lord Grimheart stared at her in silence.
Just when the disciples were starting to feel uneasy, he glanced down at Valerie and said, “I hope I didn’t frighten you too badly, Disciplinary Hall Master. I saw you were about to interfere in the Life and Death battle, so I had no choice but to be a little forceful to stop you from violating the rules.”
Under his gaze, Valerie took a deep breath and nodded silently.
Sanya stared at him, impressed by how effortlessly he turned the situation around but also irritated because she no longer had an excuse to cause him any trouble.
Still…
She glanced at Isolde, who was still undergoing the transformation despite Max’s efforts to stop her, and fixed her gaze on him, saying, “She is using your source power. Shouldn’t she be stopped?”
While everyone stared at Lord Grimheart, waiting to see how he would respond, the man in question revealed a mocking smile and the next instant…
Bang!
A muffled bang was heard right above the arena.
When everyone looked over, they saw… Lord Grimheart, standing in front of Sanya, with one hand behind his back and the other outstretched in front of him.
Reflexively, the disciples looked at the place they were standing at before and saw their afterimages slowly dispersing.
“Though I shouldn’t need to tell you this, since your mind isn’t working properly, I will.” Saying this with a smile that made Sanya gnash her jaws in irritation, he glanced at the arena, and continued, “They are having a life and death battle—Their lives are on the line. They are naturally allowed to use everything at their disposal. No power they can use on their own is against the rules.”
Finished saying this, he glanced at her and with a smile, he gestured toward the seats, “Now, how about we go sit over there and watch like everyone else?”
“Hmph!” Sanya hurrumphed coldly and returned to her seat.
Lord Grimheart also floated over and sat down with the two who came with him.
Right then, Isolde finished her transformation and sent Max flying.
’Hm?’ Lord Grimheart’s eyes flashed.
…
Bang!
The moment Isolde’s transformation began, he knew whatever she was doing, he could not let her succeed otherwise she might become more powerful than he could handle, therefore, he attacked her without hesitation and a punch to her gut sent her flying.
Unfortunately, instead of interrupting her transformation, his attack only hastened it.
Moreover…
He looked down at his knuckles and saw the dark-green mana trying to enter him through his pores.
Frowning, he circulated his mana and flames covered it.
Sizzle!
As the flames began burning it, Max’s frown deepened because the mana was resisting his flames.
Curious why it was able to do it, he enveloped it with his bloodline sense and immediately, his heart skipped a beat.
Fwoosh!
His expression grim, he covered the flames with the Fire Law and incinerated it into nothingness.
Once again activating the Phoenix Wings, he rushed over to Isolde, activated the [Calidus Brachium] and smashed his flame covered fist into her chest.
Crack!
Her ribs cracked beneath his fist but Max’s expression didn’t improve because unlike before when his punch strengthened by [Calidus Brachium] had shattered her one of the strongest defensive wooden spells into pieces seemingly with no effort, this time, it barely managed to break one of her ribs despite the fact she hadn’t used any defensive spells—the dark-green mana swirling around her had sapped most of his punch’s strength away.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, his attack had hastened her transformation even more and before he could attack again, it was finished.
Boom!
A slender hand flashed before his eyes and he was sent hurtling back, a sharp pain flaring in his chest.
Ignoring the pain and without trying to stop himself, he stared at her in astonishment.
’…The skeleton was wrong.’
