‘Let’s see. I’ve also been layering the speed of my attacks. Body movement, arm swings, hammer… but that’s it.’

‘The Divine Beast also elongated its pincers during the attack. On top of that, it launched its elongating pincers as well, adding even more speed.’

Kyle looked at his hammer.

‘Technically, I could also expand my hammer. I mean, when I grow bigger, my hammer also grows. There are also Fragments of the Law of Minor Metal related to increasing metal’s size.’

‘Sadly, the speed isn’t very overwhelming. It would maybe increase the speed of my swing by about 1%, but that’s it.’

‘What could I do to increase the speed of my attack even more?’

Kyle thought for a while about his past and how his battle style had evolved.

‘I’m already using my physical power to its full potential. The only way to increase my speed even more would be via external support, which means the world around me.’

‘I could use my Elements, but they are not nearly as strong as my Complex Laws.’

At that moment, Kyle remembered a couple of techniques he had learned as a Mortal.

‘Air Current. I remember that.’

As an experiment, Kyle swung his hammer a bit while using Air Current.

There was basically no difference in speed. As soon as he started swinging, Air Current completely broke apart. After all, it was not made to be used by Crushers.

‘If I could refine it further, I could maybe create something that uses Air Current as a base. Minor Wind includes the Fragment of Speed, which supports speeds up to 3,000 kilometers per second. If I just use it, I won’t really get anywhere.’

‘I would need a Fragment that increases my speed even more, but that would be a Fragment of the Law of Gravity Wind.’

‘Speaking of, after I’m done with my new Complex Law, I’m going to comprehend that Law anyway.’

Kyle’s brows furrowed.

‘It’s definitely the right choice to improve my Center next, but is it really the right choice to improve my body again with a Complex Level Five Law?’

‘If I view this as an RPG, it would be like improving one good aspect to become even better, when I actually have other slots that are completely not in use. It’s like getting a legendary chest piece to replace my rare chest piece while the remainder of my body doesn’t wear any armor.’

‘Shouldn’t I fill out all the slots first?’

‘Let’s see, when I’m done with my new Complex Law, my Center will be much stronger. That basically improves all of my attributes while also having a significant impact on my Law of Hammer.’

‘It’s definitely the right choice. There’s no reason to change that.’

‘But what about the Complex Law following that? It would be a Level Five Complex Law, and it would replace my Level 3.5 Complex Law. That would make my current Complex Body Law useless.’

‘I would be wasting a slot.’

‘Yet, as a Crusher, it would still be the right choice to do that. After all, I was a Legendary Primal, and the baseline of my body is higher than any other Crusher’s body. My physical power, as a baseline, is even stronger than the body of a Legendary Crusher.’

‘But that’s exactly the thing. It’s the right choice currently, but for how long will that be true? I only truly benefit from my powerful body as a Crusher. As soon as I become a Sage, my body will basically be as strong as everyone else’s.’

‘Even more, their Centers are extremely powerful, while my Center will already be kinda weak again. I should look further into the future.’

Kyle looked at his different “slots”.

‘I have a Complex Law that improves my body. I will also make one that improves my Center, but that’s it. I’m only using two slots. I can still improve my mind and Soul with Complex Laws. Even more, there’s actually nothing on my hammer. I used to surround my hammer with the Law of Meteor, but that thing basically became useless. It’s simply not strong enough to make a difference.’

‘But that’s because it is a Law that works on something external, like my hammer. In a way, you could say Complex Laws like that don’t really scale, while Infused Complex Laws scale.’

Slowly, a plan was forming in Kyle’s mind.

‘There are five slots in total. Body, Center, mind, Soul, and external. I have two, body and external, but I am only using one. In that sense, the slot for an external Law is free again.’

‘I should fill all five slots, but there’s an issue. I don’t have enough Laws and Elements that I can use to fill all of them.’

‘My Infused Law of Center will eat up all my Level Three Laws, and my next one will eat up all my Level Four Laws. What would even be left?’

‘What about recycling? While infusing a Mixed-Element Complex Law is not the best way, it’s still better than nothing, right? As a base, my Law of Meteor is a Level Two Complex Law that gets boosted to Level 2.5 by my Core Spark.’

‘If I use it as an Infusion, it would be like fusing a hypothetical Level 1. 75 Law with a Level Two Law, creating a pretty strong Level 2.5 Law. It’s not an amazing Law, but since it’s an Infused Complex Law, it scales. It still improves my baseline.’

‘If I infuse my mind or Soul with my Law of Meteor, I would have another slot filled.’

‘Then, I would need to slot in something else into the last slot, but I don’t think it should be my future Level Five Complex Law. I mainly rely on my body and Center. If I use it to improve my Soul or mind, I might get some benefits, but they won’t truly come through.’

‘I hate to admit it, but I think I was wrong. I wanted to go all boom, bang, smash, but I don’t think it’s that simple.’

‘I think I shouldn’t Essence Fuse my Level Five Law but make a Mixed-Element Complex Law.’

Kyle groaned.

‘But that also means that I have to create techniques and shit. That’s so much woooooork.’

‘Yeah, well, whatcha gonna do? The next Realm is going to be super ass anyway. A bit more ass won’t make a difference.’

‘But that still leaves one slot open, and I have no idea what to do with it.’

‘Since I’m going to recycle my Law of Meteor, all my Laws are already used in something.’

‘All my Level One Laws are in my Law of Meteor. All my Elemental Level Two Laws are in my body. All my Level Three Laws will be in my Center, and I think I will use all my Level Four Laws to make a Mixed-Element Complex Law.’

‘That leaves no Laws for my mind.’

‘I also don’t have more Affinities. I’m basically tapped out.’

‘Is there something I can use to slot into my mind?’

Kyle thought about it for a while, and eventually, he got an idea.
