Chapter 466 VROOOM
“I am not entirely sure if there is a good spot,” Sebastian said. “I mean, you want to train in the middle of the sky, near the World Ceiling, right?”
“Yep,” Kyle said. “But how am I supposed to do that? As far as I know, this thing is going to take years to learn. If I do it in the sky above the Winterfire Empire, I will be immediately spotted. If I do it above the Grand Ocean, I might be able to train in peace for some months, but at some point, there’s bound to be a Transcendent passing over the Grand Ocean near my location.”
“I also can’t do it above Silvester’s place since that would implicate him. Hiding with some kind of reflective platform also won’t work since Transcendents use Ether Sense more than their vision.”
“As far as I can see, no matter where I go, I will be found.”
Sebastian scratched his chin in thought as he listened to Kyle.
“What about the Twilight Duchy?” he asked.
“Eh, no,” Kyle said. “I don’t think I can hide from the Duchess of Twilight.”
“No, I mean, what if you just go there legally? Like a visitor or something,” Sebastian said.
“A visitor?” Kyle asked.
“Yeah, you’re not part of the Winterfire Empire,” Sebastian said. “Maybe you could go to the border and ask for a pass or something. None of the Transcendents dare to venture into the Twilight Duchy.”
Kyle scratched the back of his head for a couple of seconds.
“It sounds stupid, but maybe it’ll work,” he said. “I might try that.”
Sebastian nodded. “Great! Then, maybe I have a chance to finally catch up.”
Kyle just smirked.
When Kyle had returned to Sebastian, Sebastian had actually felt the difference in power this time.
He hadn’t comprehended another Fragment, while Kyle had comprehended two that increased his power by quite a bit.
At this moment, if the two of them were to fight, Kyle would have the advantage.
But it wouldn’t always remain like this.
The Fragments Sebastian was currently learning were of a much higher level. Just comprehending one of the Fragments was akin to learning two to three Fragments for Kyle.
Sebastian was in the middle of comprehending a Fragment he called the Fragment of Anti-Lightning’s Focus.
If he managed to learn that, his power would make a terrifying jump.
“Are you sure everything’s in order?” Kyle asked. “I will be gone for years, most likely. I don’t want the machine to break.”
“It’s fine,” Sebastian said. “I went over the design again, and I have found ways to fix everything myself, as long as I have spare parts, which I do.”
“Good,” Kyle said with a nod. “Then, I’ll try to gain legal entry into the Twilight Duchy.”
“Good luck!” Sebastian said as he went back to his machine. “You know where to find me.”
The two of them said their goodbyes, and Kyle left.
Kyle traveled to the south through one of his already established holes.
When he reached the continent, he disguised himself and changed his appearance, assuming the mantle of a Mid Fire Sorcerer.
Then, he made a car out of metal and entered.
‘The more character I have and the more noticeable I am, the better,’ Kyle thought with a smirk.
Kyle had quite some experience in disguising himself when he had been investigating the mission targets of the Stark Brotherhood.
In general, there were two ways to disguise oneself.
The “grey little man” was one way. It essentially just meant becoming as plain and boring as possible. Normal clothing, not very attractive, not very ugly, not very muscular, not fat, not angry, not nice. Just a very average guy.
However, since Kyle couldn’t completely hide his power, this wouldn’t work.
Acting like a random person wouldn’t cut it since most people would subconsciously pay attention to him.
If there were an unassuming person who drew everyone’s attention, way more people would think that this was someone who was trying to hide themselves.
So, Kyle used the other kind of disguise.
Being filled with personality and having a noticeable and bombastic appearance.
In that way, he would definitely be noticed by almost everyone.
Yet, they wouldn’t even think about connecting Kyle to this person since they were so different.
At this moment, Kyle wore luxurious red robes and red-tinted sunglasses.
He sat in his car, which he powered with his Fire Ether.
He even used Rank C Materials, which were quite expensive for a Mid Sorcerer.
Kyle was near Janus’ Hold, and his goal was all the way to the east of the continent.
‘Let’s go on a road trip!’ Kyle thought with a smirk as he artificially revved his engine.
Then, he let go of the brakes and shot forward.
Moments later, the people of Janus’ Hold heard a loud sound.
The guards looked at the tree line with care.
Was that a beast?
VROOM!
At that moment, a pitch-black object charged through a tree, felling it in the process.
Kyle reached the street while he casually leaned his left elbow on his open window, right arm on the steering wheel.
Then, he used his Fragment of Wind Movement to change the way the car moved.
The metallic tires, which had similar properties to rubber, screeched, and Kyle made a donut on the street.
The guards watched in shock.
What the fuck was going on?!
Kyle stopped the car, looked out of the window with an arrogant smirk, and waved at the guards.
The guards just looked at each other.
“That’s for your tree!” Kyle shouted as he threw several Ether Pebbles out of the window.
“See ya!”
VROOOM!
The guards just watched in confusion.
“Sir?” one of the guards asked. “Should we report this?”
The leading guard just shrugged. “Report what? He didn’t do anything. He even paid for the tree.”
“It’s just a Fire Sorcerer. They can be strange.”
The other guard still seemed nervous.
“But what if he’s a remnant of the Skysand people?” he asked.
“They are rare nowadays,” the leading guard said. “Also, if he were one of them, he wouldn’t make so much noise without causing damage.”
The leading guard snorted. “I saw it in his face. He was essentially begging us to approach him and interrogate him.”
“He wants us to interrogate him?” the guard asked. “But why?”
“Just so that he can shove his status emblem in our face, I would assume,” the leading guard said. “These kinds of people want to use any excuse to tell you who they are and how amazing they are.”
“The best thing you can do is to ignore them, unless they break the law.”
“If you say so,” the normal guard said.
