Strongest Hammer God

Kyle had difficulties wrapping his mind around what he was seeing.

One of its teeth?

But that mountain was like a kilometer tall!

He looked at the mountains in a new light, and a picture formed in his mind.

The first mountain was about seven kilometers away from the other two.

‘If those are teeth…’

Kyle looked at the young Colossus and saw nine huge teeth around its maw.

‘And if there are nine teeth…’

‘I can conclude…’

‘That this thing is big.’

Kyle did some math in his head.

‘Radius times two times pi, right? Nine teeth. About four miles between each tooth…’

‘Something like 11.5 miles?’

‘Wait, that thing’s mouth has a diameter of 11.5 miles?!’

Kyle took a deep breath.

‘How long is this thing?!’

‘Like a hundred miles? 200 miles?’

‘The entire world is only something like 3,000 miles long!’

‘That thing can probably stretch from one end of Washington State to the other!’

‘That thing would be visible on a fucking world map!’

‘What the fuck?!’

‘What the actual fuck?!’

That one worm from the sci-fi series didn’t seem to be an appropriate comparison anymore.

This thing could engulf one of them lengthwise!

“How strong is the adult?” Kyle asked.

“You don’t know?” Selene asked. “I thought you knew about the Colossus.”

“I know random things,” Kyle said.

Selene raised a brow.

“It’s the most powerful beast we know of,” Selene said.

“A Nature God?” Kyle asked, remembering the name of beasts in the Fourth Realm.

“We don’t know,” Selene answered. “It could be. But it could also just be a Peak Monster.”

“No one has attacked it. It’s against the law to attack it,” she said.

“Why?” Kyle asked.

“Isn’t it obvious?” Selene asked. “What would happen if this thing got angry and went on a rampage?”

Kyle gulped.

That would be a world-ending calamity.

It might actually be the end of the world.

‘If someone in the Third Realm can destroy entire mountains with ease, then it wouldn’t be unbelievable that things in the Fourth Realm can lay waste to entire continents.’

‘And, well, this world is about the size of a continent.’

Kyle jumped down from Skweera and coughed.

“Is what she said true?” he asked.

“The Colossus is a Nature God, yes,” Theodor answered. “We have three of them in our Kingdom. The Colossus is one of them.”

A Nature God.

And there were three of them in the Skysand Kingdom.

Kyle didn’t want to act too suspicious, but his curiosity was killing him.

So, he kept coughing.

“Who is stronger? The Colossus or Hieronymus?” he asked.

“My lowly dog can’t fight the Colossus, imbecile,” Theodor answered.

“The King!” Kyle aggressively coughed, annoyed that Theodor’s dog shares the same name with Hieronymus Skysand.

“I don’t know,” Theodor said. “They have never fought. If the General and the Champion helped him, they would win with 90% certainty. But Hieronymus on his own? I don’t know.”

Kyle looked at the mountains.

He had heard about the powers of Transcendents from Theodor.

But those had been just words.

As Kyle looked at the Colossus, he finally saw the power of Transcendents with his own eyes.

This was something Theodor wouldn’t have been able to fight at his peak.

And yet, a battle between Hieronymus and the Colossus would have an uncertain result.

In Kyle’s eyes, the Colossus represented Hieronymus’ power.

‘And I’m supposed to kill someone who can fight that thing?’

No matter how much Kyle thought, he couldn’t possibly imagine any human being able to even injure that thing.

Damage one of its teeth? Maybe.

But injure?

How?!

“Are you ok?” Selene asked. “You’ve been coughing a lot.”

“Eh, yes,” Kyle answered, quickly recovering. “It’s a healthy cough. The more I cough, the healthier I am!”

Selene just looked at Kyle in concern.

“So, yeah… you want to capture that, right?” he asked, pointing at the distant worm on the gigantic tooth.

“I don’t know,” Selene said. “I don’t know how strong that specimen is. I’m searching for a Peak Beast or Initial Ferocious Beast.”

“That’s a Mid Ferocious Beast,” Theodor said.

“That’s a Mid Ferocious Beast,” Kyle repeated.

“How do you know?” Selene asked. “You’ve never seen a Colossus before, and you didn’t even know how strong it is.”

“My knowledge is spotty. I know random things,” Kyle answered.

“You know random things,” Selene answered in skepticism.

“Yep, and I know this is a Mid Ferocious Beast,” Kyle said.

“Mhm,” Selene repeated, not really believing Kyle.

“Trust me. When have I lied to you?” Kyle asked.

Selene tried to think of one of the many lies Kyle told.

Yet, as she remembered his words, she realized that he hadn’t actually lied.

She had believed they were lies, but she had been proven wrong.

“Fine,” she said. “Then, can you find a Peak Beast specimen?”

“Not difficult,” Theodor said.

“Not difficult,” Kyle repeated.

“I can see ten of those already,” Theodor said.

“I can see ten of those already,” Kyle repeated.

Then, Kyle’s eyes widened as he realized what he had just said.

“I can see ten?” he repeated in confusion.

“You can’t. I can,” Theodor answered with a snort.

“Eeehhh,” Kyle uttered.

Selene narrowed her eyes at Kyle.

“You can see ten of them?” she asked in a low voice.

“Apparently, I can,” Kyle answered.

Selene just silently looked at Kyle for a couple of seconds.

“Fine,” she said. “Show me.”

“Eh, sure! Nothing easier than that! Follow me!” Kyle said as he walked down the hill, towards the huge teeth.

“Wrong way,” Theodor said.

“Oh, right, that way,” Kyle said, turning to the right.

“Still wrong,” Theodor commented.

“Oh, what was I thinking? It was to the left! Sorry about that!” Kyle said with a nervous grin as he turned to the left.

Selene just looked at Kyle with embarrassment and annoyance.

This guy was not a good liar.

It was more than obvious that he had no idea where such a specimen was.

Yet, he still kept acting like he knew what he was doing.

It was embarrassing.

Nevertheless, Selene followed him.

She just waited for Kyle to admit that he had lied.
