STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1121: The Starlight Beast Takes Charge
Special Base (Wilderness)
Boom!
The Butterfly Lifeline Beast sliced through the obstacles like nothing. All the extending branches and bushes were cut down. Nothing was left in the path.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night understood. Stella must have been observing everything from the beginning. She wanted to help him out in the end.
Swoosh!
In the blink of an eye, she had laid out a new path for him. Now, the path was bare yellow ground. There was not a single patch of grass on it.
Stella then vanished from the spot and appeared next to Jeremy Night.
[I have cleared the path up to 500 meters. You can walk on it now,] Stella said to him.
Jeremy Night was dumbfounded. He then thanked her for the help. Next, she wished to rest inside the mental zone, so he let her inside.
Swoosh!
The six-winged, beautiful butterfly vanished from the spot and appeared inside the mental zone. Jeremy Night then resumed his journey.
He continued walking down the path cleared by her. Having her with him was a huge help. He was not afraid of Tier-8 beasts anymore.
Now they could fight against Tier-7 beasts, so he was confident in escaping from Tier-8 beasts. In other words, the wilderness posed no threat to him.
Meanwhile,
A swarm of bug-type beasts caught a human scent. The swarm was mostly made of mid-tier beasts, ranging from Tier-4 to Tier-5.
There were a couple of Tier-6 beasts among them. The Tier-6 beasts were the first to catch the human scent.
They also caught the special scent released by their kin upon death. They understood that one of their own was dead.
The proximity was close to the Human Beast Tamer. They thought that the Human Beast Tamer was responsible for their kin’s death.
The swarm of bug-type beasts was enraged. The Tier-6 bugs sensed that the human’s strength was weak, which made them target the Human Beast Tamer even more.
Swoosh!
The whole swarm was now heading toward the Human Beast Tamer. It didn’t take long for them to see the Human Tamer walking on foot.
At the same time, the six-winged starlight butterfly inside the mental zone woke up. Stella opened her eyes. She felt something wrong with the surroundings.
She quickly spread her mental power. The huge surge of mental power expanded outward and covered the area in the blink of an eye.
It didn’t take long for her to spot the swarm of bug-type beasts. Seeing that they were out of Jeremy Night’s range, she decided to help out again.
[Let me out!]
Jeremy heard his Lifeline Beast’s voice again. He was taken aback. He looked at the path ahead; he had yet to cover the entire distance.
Why did she want to come out right now? He shook his head before summoning her. The six-winged starlight butterfly appeared outside.
Swoosh!
Stella used her speed ability to disappear. She didn’t want Jeremy Night to know; otherwise, he would insist on fighting the entire swarm of bug-type beasts alone.
She vanished from before Jeremy Night and appeared directly above the swarm.
The swarm of bug beasts appeared like a small black cloud roaming through the air.
Stella analyzed that the swarm had yet to enter Jeremy Night’s range. They were still more than 500 meters away from him.
For a second, the swarm of bug-type beasts had no clue. Just then, the Tier-6 bug-type beasts in the group were stunned.
The Tier-6 bug beasts ordered the group to stop moving forward.
Boom!
Just then, the six-winged butterfly readied herself to attack. Her wings were outlined with a crimson border. Stella was sharing Jeremy Night’s ability, doubling her strength instantly.
Her wings were enveloped in bluish starlight power.
Slash!
The next moment, she vanished from the spot. Her crimson wings tore through the cloud-like swarm.
The wing blades cut through the bodies of the bug-type beasts, eventually cleaving through the Tier-4, Tier-5, and Tier-6 bug beasts alike.
The Tier-6 bug beasts could not have imagined this end. They were so close to figuring out the death of their kin, but they died before they could.
Swoosh!
The strike took less than a second. Stella didn’t stop there. She made consecutive cuts, one after another. Red arcs sliced through the black cloud repeatedly.
The Tier-6 beasts that survived were cut down again. Stella could tell which beasts were still alive, so she made sure her attacks extinguished their lives.
In the blink of an eye, she had killed all of them. She completed her work in less than a minute. She then returned to Jeremy Night’s side.
Jeremy Night, on the other hand, was not in a hurry. He had reached the end of the cleared path. Upon seeing his Lifeline Beast, he assumed she had gone ahead to scout the trail.
"What happened?"
"Did you find any corrupted beasts?" Jeremy asked her.
[The path ahead is clear. No corrupted beasts were spotted.]
Hearing her voice, Jeremy nodded. He then asked whether she wanted to rest inside the mental zone again.
This time, however, Stella refused. She had her own plans in mind.
Jeremy Night decided to let her roam freely in the night. However, her starlight body was very conspicuous in the dark, shining like a white beacon.
He worried that corrupted beasts might spot her soon. Still, as long as they weren’t Tier-8 or Tier-9 beasts, he was not afraid.
Swoosh!
The six-winged butterfly once again vanished before his eyes. Stella continued to scout the path ahead. If she found any Tier-6 or Tier-7 beasts, she decided she would let Jeremy Night know.
She wanted Jeremy Night to improve his strength as well. For now, however, she didn’t find any other beasts in the vicinity.
Time passed.
Both of them continued toward their destination. The distance shrank, and they would arrive soon. From time to time, Stella spotted groups of mid-tier beasts, but she ignored them.
They were not heading in their direction either, and with no interaction, a larger battle was avoided.
