Chapter 1072: Part 2: Fight Against a Tier-6 Stone Fox

Roar!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox let out a loud roar in pain, but not even a drop of blood flowed out. Even so, the beast had truly felt the pain; it realised that it was injured.

Swoosh!

The beast grew enraged and immediately used its ability to move forward. The massive body of the beast moved in a flash.

Jeremy Night felt a sense of crisis. His senses kicked in. The atmosphere around him slowed down. He used his eye power to observe the beast.

He saw the Stone Fox moving in a flash. If this went on, the beast could reach him next.

Swoosh!

Jeremy started using his movement method again. This time, it was the Feathered Steps. His footwork became fluid.

The right claw of the beast was about to hit him. He shifted his body in mid-air to avoid the claws. The claws went past, barely an inch away from his head.

Swoosh!

When he landed on the ground, he continued to move backward. The beast then swiftly swung its left claw.

Jeremy once again used his eye power to predict the direction. If he didn’t move away right then, the attack could kill him.

So he moved away while adjusting his body. The claws cut through the air. The beast’s claw once again missed him.

As time passed, the confrontation continued. Sometimes he leaped backward, evading the attacks.

At other times, he slashed at the claws. The starlight-filled blade broke the claws, and the broken pieces fell to the ground.

Roar!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox let out a roar. This time, the roar was furious. The beast was injured. This time, blood was flowing from the claws.

The Tier-6 Stone Fox was wounded. The beast’s blood-red eyes became even redder. The speed of the beast was remarkably fast, yet it could not touch Jeremy Night’s body.

Now, the beast was totally maddened. Its long, fluffy tail struck out at Jeremy Night.

Boom!

Jeremy Night’s body hovered in mid-air. He rocketed backward before crashing into the ground.

Thud!

A deep pit appeared in the ground. Jeremy Night’s body was stuck in the middle. He couldn’t believe the speed of that attack.

[The Stone Fox is cunning. It faked the claw attack before using the tail.]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice, and he knew Stella was right. He hadn’t expected to fall for the Stone Fox’s trick.

"It’s just a Tier-6 beast. Why does it feel like a Tier-7 beast?" Jeremy asked.

[The beast is getting closer to a breakthrough.]

Jeremy heard the voice again. He then stood up from the spot. But before he could get out, the Stone Fox appeared before him.

Swoosh!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox attacked him again, its long, fluffy tail sweeping toward him. Seeing that, Jeremy Night readied himself to fight again.

"Blade One Move."

Jeremy Night used the blade move along with his footwork. When the tail got closer, he made a furious strike at the long, fluffy tail.

Slash!

The starlight blade came into contact with the fluffy tail. The blade cut through the fluffy tail, meeting no resistance whatsoever.

Just then, he realised that although the fluffy tail looked large and soft, it had a stone core. Only when the blade cut through the tail did he see the stone side within.

There was no blood whatsoever. He understood the reason why: he had almost severed the tail in half.

Boom!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox was stunned. It had tried to use the same attack again, but this time the human was prepared.

The Tier-6 Stone Fox sensed something wrong with the starlight blade. It saw that it was because of the blade that the human was able to injure it.

The Tier-6 Stone Fox was cunning. It understood that the human Beast Tamer had the strength to kill it.

Swoosh!

The next second, the Tier-6 Stone Fox fled from the area. Its front paws were bloodied. Its flank and tail were injured, though no blood flowed from the tail wound.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night was stunned.

"It’s going to escape! Stella, use your psychic attack," he said to Stella.

[Okay!]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice and sighed in relief.

Stella saw the fleeing beast. She used her mental power for the psychic attack. In a flash, her mental power struck the fleeing Stone Fox.

Boom!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox felt as though a massive hammer struck its head. It felt as if its brain had been slammed. The Stone Fox lost its balance and collapsed to the ground.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night used his movement method again. He charged at the fallen Stone Fox. In the blink of an eye, he arrived beside the beast.

Thud!

The Stone Fox was pinned to the ground. Jeremy then swung the starlight-filled blade to strike the beast.

Slash!

He used the Shadow Flash at the neck of the beast. The blade cut through the neck without meeting any resistance at all.

The Tier-6 Stone Fox was still dizzy from the psychic strike. Before it could realise what was happening, the blade slashed clean through.

Pfff!

Blood splattered across the ground. The Tier-6 Stone Fox was dazed. It wanted to get up, but it had lost its strength due to massive blood loss.

Jeremy withdrew the blade. He sighed inwardly. He had been able to land a successful attack thanks to Stella’s help, so he thanked her.

[Don’t mention it.]

He heard Stella’s voice again. He waited for the beast to die as the Tier-6 Stone Fox bled out. At the same time, Stella used her power to scan the surroundings again.

She knew Jeremy Night needed to kill two more Tier-6 Stone Foxes. This was only the first one, so they had to track down two more beasts next.

The Tier-6 Stone Fox died a few minutes later.

He then stored the body of the Tier-6 Stone Fox into his storage ring. After doing that, he decided to take a rest. He noticed that Stella was not absorbing natural energy.

Jeremy Night understood that Stella was likely searching for the other two Tier-6 beasts.
