Street Hustler and His Policewoman Wife
Chapter 712: Abnormal Woman, Newspaper!
Standing outside the window.
Whether observing Gao Zhun before or now observing Ye Changhuai and Ye Jun, the father and son.
Chen Xiao exerted the Power of Capture.
However, under the Power of Capture, all the feedback information analyzed suggested no issues.
But in Chen Xiao’s mind, nearly eighty percent of the crime suspect is within the Xiaozhuang area.
Whether it’s the Power of Sculpting and Painting or the video recorded of Dou Zhihai’s murder, it could be confirmed the murderer was a young person.
Chen Xiao did not want to remove suspicion from Ye Jun just yet.
Thinking briefly about what to do next, Chen Xiao decided to go out and conduct some visits.
But as he reached the door, Qin Fei came chasing out.
"Where are you going?"
Chen Xiao turned around, glanced at him, and said with a smile, "I’m planning to visit the place where Ye Changhuai lives."
"Are you... suspecting Ye Jun?"
"Yes, but my suspicion is based on the determination that the murderer is within the Xiaozhuang South Town area, and his father is a policeman. After chatting with Gao Zhun, I basically feel he might teach a son who could commit crimes, but his attention to Gao Yao is not what I perceive as a crime suspect’s father."
Chen Xiao expressed his feelings.
Qin Fei nodded: "Although I think Ye Jun looks like a student who doesn’t understand the ways of the world and is only focused on studying hard without getting any results, I generally support your decisions, so I’ll drive us there, and we’ll take a look together."
The two left the police station together.
Qin Fei drove the car and only took a few minutes to reach the vicinity of Ye Changhuai’s residence.
As the director of the station, both Ye Changhuai and Gao Zhun arranged their permanent homes in the town.
Though they didn’t live close to each other, one lived on the east side, the other on the west side.
Gao Zhun in the east, Ye Changhuai in the west.
While walking towards the latter’s residence, Qin Fei started to talk:
"Speaking of Ye Changhuai, he’s considered late in having children, right? He’s fifty now, but his child is still under twenty."
Nowadays, men and women marrying at thirty or even thirty-plus isn’t rare.
But in Ye Changhuai’s young days, not being married by thirty would absolutely come with years of single reputation.
Especially since Ye Changhuai was also a policeman then, part of a stable profession.
Marrying at thirty was indeed uncommon.
Listening to this topic, Chen Xiao couldn’t help but get interested:
"Speaking of this, have you seen Ye Changhuai’s profile?"
"I have, apart from working at the station for twenty years and eventually becoming a director, there’s nothing special about it."
"No, Ye Changhuai did make mistakes. He was initially in the county bureau, but got demoted later, and finally, through several meritorious acts, became the director of Xiaozhuang South Town Police Station."
"I know that, but it doesn’t directly relate to his family, right? Moreover, the mistakes he made were serious back then, but wouldn’t be much today if not scrutinized."
"That may be, but his wife’s profile seems too ordinary. Listed as having a junior high diploma, I suspect she might not even have that qualification since back then many would exaggerate their credentials on forms. He was already a policeman when he married, a stable job holder. Despite being older, he belonged to a very desirable professional group then."
"Moreover, his wife’s looks seem rather average, even below. Others in the station don’t seem to mention her much, so I wonder if there’s something unusual about her?"
Chen Xiao’s analysis led Qin Fei to raise an eyebrow:
"With your analysis, I really think there might be something there."
"Then let’s go straight to Ye Changhuai’s house, and chat with his wife while they’re both out."
Saying that, Chen Xiao changed his mind temporarily.
Qin Fei habitually followed behind Chen Xiao.
This time, Chen Xiao said nothing.
Soon, Qin Fei knocked on Ye Changhuai’s door.
Before long, a woman came to open the door.
The woman was somewhat plump and not tall.
It was unclear if it was due to the hardship of house chores or previous tough work experiences, making her seem prematurely aged.
Not looking typical of a woman in her forties or fifties.
Even her hair was almost half white!
"Who are you?" Ye Changhuai’s wife, Luo Mei, asked.
Speaking, Chen Xiao and Qin Fei could discern a slight lisp.
Qin Fei flashed a smile at Luo Mei: "Sister Luo, We’re police officers, here’s my badge."
Luo Mei took a look at the badge, glanced left and right, then grinned: "You’re here for Changhuai, right? Isn’t he out at the police station?"
"Yes, he’s at work now. We were tasked by Director Ye to look for something in your son’s room."
"Oh, then come on in." Luo Mei said, gesturing them in with a smile.
Though her attitude was quite enthusiastic.
But once inside, after distancing from Luo Mei, Qin Fei frowned and said, "Why do I feel that Sister Luo’s mental state seems not quite right?"
"Feels that way, indeed, the house isn’t very clean and tidy."
Chen Xiao’s words, understated, implied the house was rather dirty.
Ye Changhuai’s home could even be called untidy.
The sofa was piled with clothes, not to mention corners filled with visible dust.
The dining table had a few areas obviously brighter but elsewhere had clear oil stains.
Such household scenes made Chen Xiao and Qin Fei both glance back at Luo Mei.
Luo Mei just closed the door, leaning against the wall, smiling at them.
After exchanging a look, Chen Xiao and Qin Fei almost confirmed Ye Changhuai’s wife probably wasn’t a woman with normal intelligence.
Apart from some basic housekeeping, she likely couldn’t handle other tasks.
Quickly, Qin Fei found Ye Jun’s room.
This room seemed the cleanest and most organized they’d seen in the house.
Yet the room’s furnishings were not complex, only a bed, cabinet, desk, and chair.
The desk was filled with various study materials, alongside a box full of ballpoint pen holders.
Those seemed to be Ye Jun’s mementos from his educational pursuits.
But viewing the room’s setup, disappointment flickered in Chen Xiao’s eyes again.
"Too bad, there isn’t a computer in this room."
Qin Fei instinctively replied: "Nowadays families willing to buy computers aren’t... ."
Before finishing, Qin Fei realized and stopped abruptly.
Approaching the desk.
Qin Fei picked a study material and flipped through it casually.
Then, he pulled out an extracurricular book.
But as soon as he picked it up, several newspaper cuttings fell out.
Qin Fei picked them up, his eyes widening instantly!
