Chapter 240: Typhoon
Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Typhoon
Watching Hua Buwan eat with such relish, Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge couldn’t help but share a smile, their faces blooming with joy as bright as spring flowers. All their hard work and sweat from bustling about the kitchen to prepare the meal felt perfectly rewarded now that Buwan was enjoying it so much.
Xu Panqing swiftly picked up a piece of golden, aromatic fried fish and placed it in Hua Buwan’s bowl. "Buwan, eat as much as you’d like," she said gently. "This fried fish is best enjoyed while it’s hot."
Right on cue, Ling Yunge eagerly grabbed a piece of fragrant scrambled eggs with Chinese toon and offered it to her. "Sister Buwan, try some of this! It’s so fragrant! I specifically picked the freshest, most tender toon leaves to make it. It’s absolutely delicious!"
Seeing this, Ling Qianfan, who was sitting across the table, also wanted to serve Hua Buwan some food to show his appreciation. However, he quickly realized that it might be inappropriate given the boundaries between men and women. After a moment of hesitation, he silently lowered his chopsticks.
Meanwhile, Ling Qianjun watched his mother and sister constantly pile food into Hua Buwan’s bowl. In the blink of an eye, the food was heaped as high as a miniature mountain. He internally debated adding to it for a moment before deciding to spare her from any more servings.
Though there weren’t many dishes on the table, Hua Buwan ate to her heart’s content. Every bite seemed to carry endless warmth and care, filling her with a profound sense of happiness.
After dinner, Hua Buwan didn’t rush to leave. Instead, she happily joined the Ling family for a leisurely walk along the vast, sprawling beach behind the house to aid their digestion.
The setting sun was gradually sinking in the west like a radiant pearl, its afterglow painting the horizon into a brilliantly colorful canvas. As night slowly drew its mysterious curtain, a bright moon hung like a silver plate in the vast sky, casting a cool, gentle glow over the earth. Countless stars twinkled like gems inlaid in a velvet tapestry, shimmering with a faint yet enchanting brilliance.
During the meal, Ling Yunge and Xu Panqing had learned the good news about the stall’s massive success and how everything had sold out once again. Naturally, they were overjoyed, their happiness evident in their every expression.
Now, Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun trailed behind the group at a leisurely pace, conversing softly and enjoying the tranquil, cozy atmosphere.
Up ahead, Xu Panqing led the lively Ling Qianfan and the clever Ling Yunge as they laughed and played. As they jogged along the shore, they would stop from time to time, bending down to scour the edge of the beach for beautiful shells. After all, to Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge, those exquisite shells were the perfect materials for crafting bracelets and necklaces.
However, finding such lovely treasures wasn’t always easy; it often required a stroke of good luck. Because of this, they came out to this beach almost every day to collect handfuls of shells. Once they returned home, they would carefully filter out the most pristine ones to create their unique jewelry.
After walking for a while, Hua Buwan finally asked, "What are your plans moving forward? Restoring your status as commoners will require a significant contribution, but with nothing major happening here in Lingnan right now, that might be quite difficult."
Ling Qianjun looked at Hua Buwan and answered, "A typhoon."
