Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door
Chapter 195: Taste
Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Taste
However, opening a shop wasn’t currently on Hua Buwan’s radar.
The reason was simple: she lacked crucial identification. In the ancient Dongxuan Country, buying a storefront was next to impossible, not to mention the endless stream of potential troubles that would follow. If anyone decided to look into her background, the consequences would be disastrous. In comparison, setting up a street stall was much more flexible.
Hua Buwan thought to herself that with her modern makeup skills, she could change her appearance as she pleased and show up at the market in different guises to sell her goods. This way, even if someone wanted to capture her, they would be hard-pressed to discover her true identity. Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel full of confidence and anticipation for her future career as a street vendor.
After having a simple dinner with the Ling family, Hua Buwan returned to the supermarket. She needed to select some suitable items to take to the market tomorrow to test the waters.
The village wasn’t wealthy. If she wanted to fetch a good price, she would probably have to walk a fair distance to the town. However, they currently faced a thorny problem—a lack of transportation. There were no handcarts or ox carts; the only things they could rely on were their own two legs. Furthermore, the Ling family had just settled down recently and weren’t in any condition for a long journey, so choosing a nearby market was the wisest decision.
Hua Buwan had also considered whether she should ride her electric scooter through the Any Door to Dongxuan Country. Just imagining the scene made her think it would be incredibly cool!
But she quickly dismissed the fleeting thought. There was no helping it; the road to the market would be bustling with people, and it would be too abrupt for her vehicle to just appear out of nowhere. She would have to wait for a more suitable opportunity in the future. Perhaps she could try using it for travel when there was no one around—that would be absolutely wonderful.
Standing before the fully stocked shelves, Hua Buwan fell into deep contemplation. After careful consideration, she finally decided on a few items to sell at the market tomorrow: rain boots, rubber gloves, and soap. These were incredibly practical daily necessities for coastal villagers living a thousand years in the past!
Take the rain boots, for instance; it would be much more convenient for the villagers to wear them while beachcombing for seafood. As for the rubber gloves, they could effectively protect their hands while digging through sand and picking up marine products, reducing the risk of injury. Moreover, wearing gloves wouldn’t just keep their hands from absorbing strange odors, but it would also keep them clean. Thinking of this, Hua Buwan couldn’t help but feel a surge of anticipation for these carefully selected treasures.
By the seaside, people were often busy catching fish and gathering seafood. When they finished a day of labor and prepared to go home, the situation was often quite unbearable. Their originally clean hands would be covered in a strong, fishy stench. Some were so thoroughly soaked in it that the pungent smell permeated them from head to toe, even clinging to the strands of their hair.
Perhaps for those who dealt with seafood on a long-term basis, they were already accustomed to the smell and accepted it without feeling anything was wrong. However, for those who weren’t used to it, coming into contact with such an odor would instantly induce nausea and send their stomachs churning.
