Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Preparation and Departure

Hua Buwan gleefully led Ling Qianjun into her well-stocked supermarket. Tonight, they were going to host a unique seaside barbecue feast. While the mountain of supplies they needed to prepare seemed a bit daunting, she thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

With practiced ease, she wove through the aisles alongside Ling Qianjun, carefully selecting each necessity. First on the list was a sturdy, durable grill—destined to be one of the main stars of this culinary journey. Next came the essential roasting forks. Like spears in the hands of soldiers, they eagerly awaited their fierce clash with the tender, juicy chunks of meat.

When it came to ingredients, Hua Buwan was even more meticulous. Plump meatballs, savory sausages, and beautifully colored, meaty chicken wings were all swept into her basket. But these were just the basics; even more surprises awaited them at the beach.

Hua Buwan knew perfectly well that they would need to forage for fresh seafood once they arrived. Freshly caught oysters, feisty scuttling crabs, and lively swimming fish would all become delectable dishes on their dining table. Just the thought of it made the corners of her mouth curl up in eager anticipation.

Oh! She had almost forgotten the most important seasonings.

Hua Buwan quickly spun around and hurried over to the condiment aisle. A rich, smooth garlic sauce was an absolute must. When tender oysters met finely minced garlic, the taste was simply divine.

At the same time, to ensure everyone could fully enjoy the fun of beachcombing, Hua Buwan specifically rounded up a pile of tools from around the supermarket: small shovels, practical little buckets, and sturdy gloves. With these handy items, she was confident they would reel in a bountiful harvest.

Hua Buwan usually just winged it when she went beachcombing, but since she was taking the Ling family along this time, she secretly downloaded a whole series of beachcombing guides on her phone. She intended to spend an unforgettable time with them by the sea. If she couldn’t teach them properly, she would just have them read the guides themselves. She chuckled to herself, thinking her idea was absolutely brilliant.

Ling Qianjun, meanwhile, trailed steadfastly behind Hua Buwan, silently helping her carry the chosen items. Before they knew it, the goods had piled up into a veritable mountain. He simply grabbed a few massive bags and stuffed everything inside. Even so, the two remained in high spirits, not feeling the least bit tired.

Finally, everything was ready.

Brimming with anticipation and lugging their bulging bags, Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun stepped through the space-time door and returned to the ancient era. The sun was setting, casting its golden afterglow over them and stretching their shadows long against the ground like a beautiful painting.

Back at the house, Xu Panqing, Ling Yunge, and Ling Qianfan hadn’t been idle either. They had immediately taken the time to organize the items Ling Qianjun had left in the stairwell earlier. These were mostly daily necessities that they would all need to use once everyone gathered. Since there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of stuff, they finished putting everything away after a short while.

Right at that moment, Ling Qianjun and Hua Buwan returned.

Seeing them so heavily laden with bags and parcels, the three hurriedly stepped forward to help carry the load.

"Sister Buwan, how come you brought back so much stuff? Are you trying to empty out your entire grocery store?" Ling Qianfan asked as he took the bags from Hua Buwan’s hands and placed them on the table.
