Chapter 767: The Lord’s Responsibility [Bonus Chapter]
Silas leaned in and brushed a soft kiss against her burning cheek.
"I’m going in a little," he whispered. "If it hurts, tell me and I’ll stop."
"Mm... mhm..." She nodded frantically, her eyes wet and shining.
His fingers slid lower through the slick heat, and the tip of one finger pressed slowly and gently inside her.
SHLUCK!
It was tight and hot and completely new to her untouched body, and the fullness of it made her whole soul shudder.
"Nnnnhaaah~!"
Silas stopped for a moment, letting her get used to it with his thumb resting firmly against her sensitive spot.
"Okay?" he asked softly.
"D-do not stop..." Aeliana whimpered, her nails digging into his forearm. "Please... don’t stop... Lord Sy~"
Then, with one slow deep stroke, he curled his finger inward and pressed down with his thumb at the same time.
SHLICK!
The wave broke all at once.
Pleasure crashed through Aeliana’s body like a star bursting, and the last thread of her composure snapped into blinding white light.
Her back arched off the mahogany, her hands tore away from her mouth to grab his forearms, and her whole core clenched around his finger in helpless shuddering waves.
"Ah... ahh, it’s... it’s too much~!"
The word slipped past her lips before she could stop it, breaking the rule of proper speech she had kept her entire life.
She couldn’t hold on to her composure... She was too far gone as she cried out loud enough to ring off the ceiling.
"Haaaaaangh~!"
CREAK!
At that exact moment, the brass latch of the office door clicked open.
The heavy oak door swung inward a few inches, and a messy mop of red hair, two bright red eyes and a pair of small fluttering crimson wings peeked cautiously into the room.
Talira blinked, taking in the sight of the Lord of Blessed Land standing between the trembling bare legs of Aeliana, who was sprawled across the desk.
"Wh-what?"
...
Talira’s clawed boots clicked against the granite steps in a sharp impatient rhythm as she bounded up the wide spiral staircase of the Keep.
Behind her, her small crimson wings twitched in restless little snaps that kicked up tiny whirlwinds of dust along the stairs.
Her scaled tail swept from side to side with its tip rapping against the carved banister every few steps.
CLACK!
CLACK!
Talira puffed out her cheeks and grumbled under her breath, then took the last three stairs in a single leap.
She had come up here to see her Lord.
Down in the barracks and the courtyard, the whole territory was supposed to be gathering by now for the morning routine.
Aeliana had gone upstairs with Lord Silas’s purple juice a good while ago and Talira had a few questions for her... yet Aeli still hadn’t come out.
That alone was strange.
Aeliana was so strict about schedules that being thirty seconds late usually made her ears twitch like she’d been personally insulted by time itself... If it had been anyone else, Talira would’ve assumed paperwork had eaten them alive.
But more than that, Talira hadn’t come up here just to play messenger.
Something weird had been happening to her body.
For the past two days, a strange heavy warmth had been sitting in her chest and belly.
It wasn’t pain as Talira knew pain... She was very well versed with it.
Pain was simple, something you could roar at and bite in half but this was different.
It was a warm fluttering tightness that pulsed through her whole body, with sudden waves of tingling heat that made the scales under her tunic prickle.
...She didn’t know what it was or how to explain it to anyone.
’Ah, what a weird sickness.’
She’d tried ignoring it... She’d tried flying three laps around the valley at full speed, dunking her head in the freezing well and eating an entire roast by herself but none of it helped however the roast had been nice, though.
She just had a feeling that her Lord might have the answer.
Lord Silas knew everything.
He’d done things nobody else could, and he went back and forth to that mysterious Human World all the time... If anyone could tell her why her chest felt like a pot of bubbling magma every time he walked into a room, it was him.
She’d rehearsed it on the way up.
She’d walk in, say good morning, tell him about the weird feeling like it was no big deal and ask what it was.
’That sounds calm and mature.’
Talira rounded the last corner of the corridor, and her bright red eyes locked onto the heavy oak door of his office.
It wasn’t fully shut... The latch sat slightly loose in its groove, and a sweet smell of berries drifted out into the drafty hallway.
Talira hesitated, then nudged the door open a few inches with one claw-tipped finger and peeked in.
CREAK!
Her mouth was already open to complain about Aeli, and it stayed open.
Calm... Mature...? All of it flew straight out of her head.
Her crimson wings froze mid-flap. Her red eyes went so wide that her slit pupils shrank into needles, and her jaw dropped so far it nearly unhinged.
Somewhere in the back of her head, a very small and very sensible voice told her to close the door and walk away however the rest of her head told that voice to shut up.
The scene in front of her looked like something out of a scandalous bard’s tavern song.
Silas was standing between two bare pale thighs, his loose black robes hanging open across his chest, with his right hand buried right between them and sprawled across the big mahogany desk, on top of ledgers, inkpots and papers, was the prim untouchable Elf princess.
Aeliana’s white linen tunic was undone at the laces and pulled open, and her straight blond hair was spilled across the desk like tangled spun gold.
Worse, she was still in the middle of it.
The feeling was so new to her that her body had no idea what to do with it except shake.
Her back was arched off the mahogany with her hips were trembling in helpless little spasms and her pale skin was flushed rose from her chest to the tips of her ears.
Talira’s tail, which had been swishing the whole way up the stairs, went perfectly still.
Then, through the teary haze, Aeliana’s silver-green eyes fluttered open.
For one long horrible second, the two of them simply stared at each other across the room as she saw the open door.
’Wh... wha...?’
She saw red hair, two fluttering crimson wings and a completely paralyzed dragon girl staring straight at her bare chest with her jaw on the floor.
Every alarm bell in Aeliana’s head went off at once.
’Someone is watching...!’ Aeliana’s thoughts screamed. ’Talira is standing right there! She saw! She saw everything! My tunic is open! My skirt is up! I am lying across Lord Sy’s paperwork like... like...!’
A tidal wave of shame crashed over her and wiped out every last drop of afterglow.
In her secret manuscripts, and in real life too, she much preferred being the one peeking through the gap in the door.
She was supposed to be the one watching, quietly taking notes from the shadows while other people lost their minds... She was the watcher!
She was never, ever supposed to be the one caught spread across a desk while an excitable dragon gawked at her.
Her pointed ears slammed flat against her hair... Before Silas could say a single word, and before Talira could even blink, hell even before she could finish her climax... Aeliana blinked through space.
FLASH!
A burst of silver-blue light flared around the desk, and the air folded in on itself.
POP!
Aeliana was gone, leaving behind nothing but a faint smell of ozone, one paper fluttering slowly to the floor and a very empty desk.
The mining permit landed softly on the rug and Silas was left standing alone in the middle of the room.
His knees were still slightly bent, his robes were still hanging open, and his right hand was frozen in midair over the empty desk, glistening in the gray light from the windows.
Silas blinked down at his hand.
’She’s gone...?’
He didn’t panic, and he didn’t chase her down the corridor.
Aeli was painfully shy under all that confidence, so he’d half expected her to bolt the second reality caught up with her... Having her very first time walked in on by the loudest dragon in the territory was practically guaranteed to make her evacuate.
’That’s why I suggested her room,’ Silas thought with a quiet amused breath. ’We could’ve had all the privacy we wanted down there but no, the princess wanted the desk...’
Silas sighed.
’She’s probably hiding somewhere in the east wing with a pillow over her face right now,’ he added, picturing it. ’Or writing about it.’
Knowing Aeli, it was probably both.
He looked down at his glistening fingers then, with the unhurried ease of a man completely comfortable in his own skin, Silas brought his hand to his lips and licked his finger clean.
"Mhm?"
A thoughtful hum rose in his throat.
It was different... Different from Eluned, and different from Morwenna as well. Aeli’s was a little sour, light and tart, with a faint fizzy prickle to it like starlight.
...He liked it.
’Hehe, I wouldn’t mind having more.’
Silas lowered his hand, turned around and looked at the doorway.
Talira was still standing there in the exact same pose with her wings locked stiff behind her back, her mouth hanging open so wide her little fangs were on full display as she hadn’t blinked in a while.
...It was starting to look like a medical problem.
Outside the window, snow kept falling. In the corridor, somewhere very far away, a door slammed shut.
Unlike what anyone would expect from a man caught red-handed in his office, Silas wasn’t ashamed at all.
He didn’t scramble to fix his robes, and he didn’t blush or stammer out excuses.
He stood there relaxed and completely unbothered, meeting her red eyes with total calm.
’This will now be my life...’ Silas thought, the realization settling into his chest with a heavy inevitable warmth.
He was the Lord of Blessed Land and the only man in a territory full of over a hundred and fifty fiercely loyal women.
He was married to a goddess, he had a pirate captain in his bed, and half the Keep looked at him like he’d personally hung the moon.
Every single one of them had followed him into this valley and bled for it.
...Some of them had been with him since they were killing monsters for a single UP each, and some of them had been gods.
Not one of them had ever asked him for anything back that he wasn’t happy to give.
He had a sworn duty to his women, of course.
Taking care of them, giving them his affection and standing by them came with the banner he’d planted in this valley... As long as it didn’t get in the way of actually running the territory, he had no intention of running from it.
’Well, we should actually get a timetable or something,’ Silas thought, rubbing his jaw with his clean hand.
He wasn’t even joking.
There were a lot of girls in Blessed Land who very obviously wanted to get pregnant for him... so a proper schedule would still help a lot.
Otherwise he could already picture it... a queue outside his office, someone camping in his wardrobe, and Thora charging admission.
Silas let out a long slow sigh.
"Phew..."
He turned back to the much more immediate problem of his desk.
With a small flick of his mana, Silas called up a gentle stream of water magic.
SWOOSH!
A ribbon of clear cool water wound around his right hand and washed it clean, then slid across the mahogany, wiping down the whole desk before it burst into a fine harmless mist and vanished.
He smoothed down the fur at his collar, tied his robes properly closed and looked back at the dragon girl.
"Something the matter, Talira?" Silas asked, leaning his hip against the clean desk like nothing had happened at all.
Talira finally snapped out of it.
Her jaw clicked shut, and her crimson wings started flapping so fast behind her that the papers on the nearest shelf lifted.
FLAP! FLAP! FLAP!
A furious wave of red rushed up from under the collar of her leather tunic and painted her cheeks and the little scales along her jaw.
Her tail whipped back and forth and smacked the stone doorframe.
THWACK!
"Wh-what was that?!" Talira blurted out, pointing a trembling claw at the desk. "Aeli was... she was screaming! Her clothes were falling off! Her legs were... and you were... your hand was right there! Why was the princess making noises like an injured wyvern on your paperwork?!"
Silas chuckled and crossed his arms.
"Aeli was just feeling a little overwhelmed this morning," Silas said casually, his lopsided smirk widening. "She had a lot of stress built up, so I was helping her calm down. Nothing to worry about..."
He tilted his head and gave the flustered dragon girl a teasing look.
