Chapter 466: Preparations For The World Council Meeting [Bonus Chapter]

Silas’s casual demeanor vanished instantly as his blue eyes sharpened into terrifying slits.

The World Council, huh?

Silas gave a slow nod.

"Right," Silas murmured. "It’s time for the meeting with the World Council."

Silas had been turning the prospect of this summit over in his mind for quite a long time now.

As he leaned back against the edge of the heavy wooden writing desk, watching Evelyn demolish a slice of rich chocolate cake, he felt a strange thrumming anticipation settling into his chest.

The time had finally come to set a concrete date...

He was more than prepared for it. His internal calculations were already running through the myriad of political, economic, and territorial angles he could exploit.

The major objective here was incredibly simple: gain as much as humanly, or perhaps divinely, possible from them.

Given that he had successfully awakened a Mythic Gold Core... an anomaly of raw power that completely shattered the conventional scaling metrics of the Awakened Society... Silas knew he was walking into this summit holding a royal flush.

He was going to have a field day with the global elites.

’It’s quite funny, really,’ Silas thought with a confident smirk playing at the corners of his lips. ’I’m actually feeling genuinely excited about walking into a room full of the highest powers in the Awakened Society and flipping their entire worldview completely upside down...’

Evelyn swallowed a massive bite of cake, chasing it with a spoonful of Kaelia’s vanilla ice cream.

"If we are going to do this," Evelyn stated, pointing her silver spoon directly at his chest, "a proper finalized date has to be set for the meeting. The World Council doesn’t just clear their schedule for random upstarts, even if you did just gain a lot of support from the World. I’ll coordinate the encrypted communications on my end, and I will accompany you to the summit in my disguise... Though, I suppose I should mention it is going to be my very first time formally meeting the World Council in person, too."

She didn’t wait for his response, immediately going back to stuffing her face with a glazed doughnut.

Silas let out a slow sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. Personally he would like to go as soon as possible but right now, he factored in the current logistical constraints of the Keep.

"The Princess is going to remain here in Blessed Land for exactly one week. So, we have six more days of playing host to global royalty... I think we should definitively schedule the summit for the day after she departs. That way, our hands are clean, and we don’t risk any cross-contamination between her presence here and the Council’s intelligence network."

’How the hell did she even get here anyway?’ Evelyn thought but she didn’t ask, she really knew it was on some bullshit.

He tapped his chin thoughtfully.

"Perhaps we can arrange it to fall exactly on the day of a major pre-existing global meeting. If they are already gathered, we can crash the party and meet all the key members simultaneously without having to track them down individually."

Evelyn paused mid-chew.

She set her spoon down on the silver platter, reaching into the deep pocket of her sleek dark tunic as she pulled out a high-end encrypted smartphone.

"I see..."

Her thumb swiftly swiping across the glass screen as she opened the Y app... the global network’s primary digital hub for news, Lord interactions, and Awakened rumors.

Her stormy gray eyes scanned the rapidly scrolling text.

"Well, look at this," Evelyn mumbled around a mouthful of dough, her eyes lighting up with calculating intrigue. "It seems the World Council is actually hosting a massive summit in exactly a week and a few days. They are gathering all the sitting Presidents of the major terrestrial countries and more importantly... the King and the Prince of the world are both confirmed to be in attendance."

Silas raised an eyebrow.

Even though the human realm was an incredibly modern, technologically advanced world complete with smartphones, digital streaming networks, and global internet access, the traditional archaic titles of "King" and "Prince of the World" were not merely ceremonial.

...They were titles forged in the fires of an apocalyptic crucible, at least that was what one would say.

Decades ago, when the dimensional barriers first began to fracture and the Sovereign Realm threatened to completely consume the Human world in a tidal wave of anomalous beasts and rogue mana, it was the Royal Family that had stepped forward to save humanity from utter extinction.

They had exhausted their vast generational wealth and leveraged unparalleled magical engineering to create colossal Suppression Engines.

These giant monolithic machines were planted deep within the bedrock of every major country on Earth.

The machines forcibly stabilized the dimensional tear, effectively preventing Sovereign Realm gates from opening randomly in populated cities.

They were the sole reason humanity had survived the initial integration as the entire modern world owed them an unpayable debt of blood and gratitude, which was exactly why the royal family retained unquestioned global authority.

’Plus they’re rich too...’

"There’s more," Evelyn noted, her thumb scrolling further down the Y feed. "The tabloids and the Awakened forums are completely buzzing. There are some unconfirmed rumors circulating that an illegitimate royal daughter is going to be formally introduced at this summit."

"An illegitimate girl?" Silas asked. "That’s going to cause a massive media circus."

"Which makes it the perfect time for us to show up," Evelyn smiled, locking her phone screen and slipping it back into her pocket. "It’s taking place a week and a few days from now. Just after your little royal houseguest vacates the premises..."

Silas nodded, a sharp glint flashing in his blue eyes. "Let’s meet the World Council then."

Evelyn smiled with a genuine happy expression that completely matched his own ambition.

"You’re smart, Silas. I’ll give you that. Crashing their most publicized high-security summit of the decade? This should be perfect. It establishes total dominance from the second we walk through the doors."

She tilted her head, wiping a smudge of icing from her cheek. "As long as you’re not suddenly feeling chickened out?"

Silas scoffed, rolling his shoulders with effortless imposing confidence.

"How could I possibly feel chickened out? They should be the ones feeling terrified..."

He pushed off the edge of the writing desk, standing to his full, towering height.

"Thank you for handling the communications, Evelyn and for everything else you’re doing behind the scenes."

Evelyn simply waved a hand dismissively, immediately grabbing another thick slice of chocolate cake and stuffing her mouth full.

Silas watched her struggle to swallow the dry cake as he let out a quiet chuckle.

His right hand flared with a brilliant condensed flash of blue spatial mana and reaching into the dimensional pocket, he pulled out a cold bottle of sparkling spirit-water and extended it toward her.

Evelyn took the bottle gratefully, twisting the cap off and chugging it down to clear her throat.

She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, letting out a satisfied breath.

"I will get in contact with the World Council’s secure terminal tonight and lay the groundwork," Evelyn promised, a smug satisfied smile touching her lips. "And you are very welcome for the administrative carry, Silas."

"I’ll leave you to your sugar coma, then," Silas smirked, turning on his heel and walking toward the heavy wooden door.

"Hold on. Stop," Evelyn commanded and Silas paused, his hand hovering mere inches from the brass doorknob.

He turned around with his brow furrowing slightly in question. "What is it n—"

WHOOOOOOSH!

Evelyn didn’t speak, she moved instead.

Channeling the terrifying physical parameters of a top-tier Lord, Evelyn completely blurred out of existence.

She crossed the fifteen feet of plush carpeting separating them in seconds as she planted her pivot foot with bone-shattering force, her hips snapping violently.

’It’s time for my revenge...’

She executed a flawless and devastatingly fast front kick aimed squarely at Silas’s groin.

KRA-BOOOOOOM!

The impact was catastrophic.

The force of Evelyn’s reinforced boot connecting with its target generated a concussive shockwave as a violent ring of displaced air exploded outward from the point of impact, violently rustling the heavy velvet curtains and rattling the crystal ashtray on the table.

Evelyn stood with her leg fully extended with a smug on her face.

’That’s for terrifying me and compromising my secret identity, you arrogant bastard,’ she thought, fully expecting Silas to immediately drop to his knees, completely paralyzed by the agonizing pain of a powerful strike to the nuts.

But a second passed.

...Then another.

Evelyn’s smug grin slowly began to falter.

She looked up and saw Silas was standing perfectly still.

He hadn’t bent forward and he hadn’t flinched, hell he hadn’t even blinked.

His posture was completely relaxed, his hands resting casually at his sides as he looked down at Evelyn’s boot pressed against his groin, and then slowly raised his eyes to meet her horrified trembling stormy gray gaze.

Evelyn rapidly pulled her leg back, stumbling a half-step backward in disbelief.

’No reaction...?’ Evelyn’s mind screamed, her brain completely short-circuiting as she stared at him. ’I just channeled enough raw force to completely shatter a door! How the hell is his physical constitution that high?! What kind of monstrous unbreakable body does this man possess?!’

Silas simply stood there, brushing an invisible speck of dust from the front of his dark trousers.

He looked at Evelyn, his blue eyes filled with disappointment.

"I am the younger one in this alliance of ours, Evelyn," Silas said, his voice carrying the weight of a tired parent scolding a toddler. "And yet, somehow, I consistently behave far more mature than you."

Silas let out a sharp dismissive sound.

"Tch."

Without another word, Silas reached out, grabbed the doorknob, and stepped out into the hallway, pulling the heavy wooden door shut with a soft final click.

Left entirely alone in the quiet velvet-lined room, Evelyn stood completely frozen in place.

Her leg was trembling slightly from the sheer of hitting his unbreakable frame as her stormy gray eyes were wide, staring blankly at the closed door.

’Not even a single reaction?’ Evelyn thought, a deep sense of existential dread and inadequacy crashing over her like a tidal wave.

She looked down at her own hands, flexing her fingers as a cold sweat broke out across her neck.

’...Why do I feel so unbelievably weak?’

...

Out in the quiet torch-lit corridor of the Keep, Silas let out a slow steady exhale, adjusting the front of his dark robes.

’At least I’ve settled her now,’ Silas thought, rolling his shoulders to shake off the lingering pressure of the kick. ’She’s strong but not strong enough...’

His Gold Core constitution was a terrifying cheat code.

His physical power and durability were so astronomically high that Evelyn’s strike had felt like nothing more than a gentle breeze against a solid mountain

Silas pushed open the heavy oak doors of the Keep, stepping onto the plush rugs.

The massive stone hearth had burned down to a pile of glowing, crackling orange embers, casting deep dancing shadows across the velvet furniture.

Morwenna was gone, safely tucked into his bed upstairs, but lying completely sprawled out across the opposite couch was the Norse Goddess of Thunder.

Thor was still unapologetically naked.

Her statuesque, heavily muscled physique was bathed in the warm dim light of the embers as her chest rose and fell in a deep slumber with a soft vibrating hum of lightning mana crackling across her skin.

Silas sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

’Aeli really didn’t have to drug them up that bad,’ he thought, shaking his head at his Archon’s efficiency. ’This is just a logistical hazard.’

He kept his eyes firmly locked straight ahead, determined to walk past the couch without disrespecting the unconscious demigoddess.

Silas took three quiet steps past the edge of the velvet cushions.

WHOOOOOOSH!

Without a single warning, Thor’s calloused right hand shot upward from the couch.

Silas froze instantly, his combat instincts flaring, but the movement wasn’t an attack.

Thor’s hand hovered perfectly in the air, completely suspended by a humming field of anti-gravity lightning mana.

Her eyes were still firmly shut, her chest still rising and falling in deep drugged sleep.

’She is sleeping...’ Silas realized, staring at the hovering hand with wide, bewildered eyes. ’But she is levitating her arm subconsciously? Or... is she faking being asleep?’

Before Silas could step out of reach, the levitating hand drifted downward, landing squarely on top of his head.

Pat! Pat! Pat!

Thor’s incredibly powerful hand delivered three gentle headpats to the Sovereign Lord of Blessed Land, ruffling his dark hair with surprising tenderness.

"Mmmm..." Thor mumbled in her deep sleep-heavy voice as a small dopey smile crossing her lips. "Good boy..."
