Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Chapter 249: Eurenia’s Preaching

  • Next Chapter

Eurenia stood in the dim, luminescent glow of the subterranean cavern, staring at Naen and the three outer disciples beside him.

A profound, rarely seen look of quiet pity settled in her eyes.

Looking at these four young men—discarded by their peers, desperate for strength, and treated as worthless fodder by the arrogant cultivators of the Emerald Purity Sect.

She saw a reflection of her own forgotten past.

She remembered a time when she was just like them: weak, helpless, and completely unable to protect what she held dear against the terrifying, overwhelming power of the Ogres.

Yet, in her darkest moment of despair, when the world had turned its back on her, the God of Beast and Men had reached out his hand.

He had chosen her.

She had become his very first follower after his awakening from his thousand-year slumber, and she had remained unwavering, absolute, and fiercely faithful to him ever since.

Eurenia exhaled a long, deep sigh, the tension in her shoulders melting into a solemn, heavy authority.

“You ask if a discarded person like you can grow stronger,” Eurenia began, her voice soft yet carrying a weight that echoed off the damp stone walls.

“Listen to me, Naen. Before I stood in these lands wearing these robes, I was nothing more than a fragile young girl. My father was brutally taken from me, and from a very young age, I was forced to carry the crushing weight of protecting my surviving family.”

The four disciples listened in absolute, breathless silence, utterly spellbound by her words.

“My father’s killers were ruthless,” Eurenia continued, her eyes distant as she recounted the memory. “They hunted me across every direction, cornering me, chasing me down to the absolute ends of the world until I had no breath left, no strength, and nowhere left to run. Death was standing right before my face. But in that final, hopeless moment, when the world left me to perish, the God of Beast and Men noticed me.”

She looked directly into Naen’s trembling eyes.

“He offered me a way out—a path to save myself, tear down my persecutors, and protect my family. I prayed to him with everything I possessed… and Lord Varanus granted me the power to shatter my fate.”

BOOM!

The moment those words left her lips, Eurenia released her complete control over her spiritual sea.

She no longer concealed her true mana, discarding the illusion that made her appear as an ordinary, weak recruit.

A dense, suffocating crimson-and-violet aura erupted from her body like an exploding volcano.

The air inside the cave grew viscous, the water in the underground pool churning violently as the sheer, crushing pressure of a genuine Martial General filled every inch of the subterranean space.

The four outer disciples felt as though a solid mountain of iron had slammed directly onto their shoulders.

Their faces turned deathly pale, their eyes wide with sheer, unadulterated shock.

“A-A… A Martial General?!” Peatyr choked out, his lungs gasping for air.

Staggering backward in complete terror, all four youths lost their footing and crashed heavily onto their knees.

Without a second thought, they slammed their foreheads against the slick stone floor, trembling violently as they bowed in complete submission.

“Forgive us! Forgive us, Senior!” Mayr stammered out, his voice cracking with panic.

“We were blind! We had no idea a noble Martial General stood before us! Please forgive our immense rudeness!”

A soft, dark grin spread across Eurenia’s lips as she looked down at the kneeling disciples.

The oppressive pressure instantly vanished, allowing the thin air to flow back into their starved lungs.

“Rise,” Eurenia said smoothly, her tone devoid of anger.

“Do not be worried. I am not offended by your ignorance. The only reason I have revealed my true cultivation to you in this manner is to prove a single, indisputable truth: the absolute, transformative greatness of the God of Beast.”

She stepped forward, extending her slender, open hand toward them like a high priestess bestowing a sacred divine decree.

“Follow him diligently, for he shall bless you,” Eurenia spoke, her voice ringing with mesmerizing, divine conviction.

“Worship him with all your heart, and he shall guide you out of the ash and lead you to true, unyielding greatness.”

Hugan slowly raised his head, his hands trembling as he wiped cold sweat from his forehead.

He stared at Eurenia’s extended hand, his heart pounding in his chest with a strange, intoxicating hope.

“Sister Eurenia…” Hugan asked, his voice raw with emotion. “How… how do we follow him? What must we do?”

Eurenia turned her body, facing the sprawling, illuminated mural of the beastmen once again.

She pointed a slender finger at the ancient runes carved beneath the sacred crest.

“Kneel before his mark,” Eurenia instructed calmly. “Look upon his sacred scripture, and repeat the Three Paths Honorifics in Ancient Lydora. Offer him your mind and your spirit.”

The four outer disciples swallowed hard, the saliva thick in their throats.

They looked at one another, exchanging a final, silent nod of absolute unity.

They no longer cared about the Emerald Purity Sect, nor did they care about the rules of mortal cultivators.

They wanted strength.

They wanted a destiny.

Gathering around the glowing wall, they fell to their knees in unison, staring at the ancient lettering as they opened their mouths, chanting the ancient dialect together:

“Blessed Art Thou O Great Eternal One!”

“Thy name, Varanus, is the truth!”

“You are the Great Primordial of the Feral Domain!”

“You are the Principal of the Fractured Mind!”

“You are the God of Beast and Men, Who Shall Devour All!”

As their unified voices echoed through the cavern, a subtle, invisible pulse of pure, spiritual devotion ignited within their souls, rising through the earth and piercing into the vast cosmic realm above.

Northern Hashian Mountains — Deep within the Glorious Mythical Sect.

Hundreds of kilometers away from the Emerald Purity Sect, inside a grand, heavily decorated hall lit by golden lanterns, a massive banquet was taking place.

Roy, currently maintaining his disguise as the Peerless Supreme Elder, was sitting at a large banquet table surrounded by several high-ranking elders of the sect.

Wine jugs were scattered across the table, filled with potent, aromatic spiritual alcohol.

The elders were laughing boisterously, cracking loud jokes, and indulging themselves in heavy drunkenness, celebrating their recent domain expansions.

Roy was holding a delicate porcelain cup, casually sipping the fine wine while listening to an elder recount a exaggerated battle story.

Suddenly, Roy froze mid-sip.

In recent times, as his divine name solidified and thousands of beasts worshipped him daily, his system interface had stopped giving him annoying, individual notifications every single time a random entity prayed to him.

His divine domain had matured beyond the need for constant mortal pinging.

Yet, in this precise second, Roy felt a distinct, unmistakable sensation ripple through his soul core. It was a crisp, resonant connection.

A fresh string of spiritual faith snapping into place from a distant location.

‘Four human souls…’ Roy noted internally, his dark eyes flashing with a cold, brilliant light beneath his lowered eyelids. ‘And they just recited my full Three Paths Honorifics in Ancient Lydora from within the Eastern Hashian territory.’

A faint, satisfied smile touched the corners of his lips.

Eurenia and Alisa were already bearing fruit.

The seeds had officially taken root inside the human sect.

“Hahaha! Supreme Elder Roy! Why the sudden silence?” one of the drunken elders shouted, slamming a heavy clay jug onto the table and slapping Roy’s shoulder merrily.

“Come, drink another vessel with us! Tonight we toast to the glory of the Northern Peaks!”

Roy set his porcelain cup down onto the polished wood with a soft click.

He slowly stood up from his seat, picking up an unopened bottle of aged plum wine by its long neck.

“Excuse me, brothers,” Roy spoke smoothly, his voice cool and completely unaffected by the heavy alcohol. “I have just remembered a pressing matter that requires my immediate, undivided attention.”

Before the confused, half-drunken elders could protest or drag him back into their rowdy drinking games.

The Peerless Supreme Elder turned on his heel and glided out of the banquet hall, the heavy oak doors closing silently behind him as he carried his wine bottle into the quiet, starlit night.
