Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Chapter 173: Lust of Mortal Men

The off-duty prison guards scrambled backward in sheer terror, their knees slamming hard against the cold, damp stone of the dungeon floor.

Beside Mayor Henar, Warden Bass stood with a stern, disappointed grimace, slowly shaking his head at the men’s total lack of composure.

The atmosphere in the subterranean corridor turned suffocatingly heavy as the Mayor’s cold, authoritative presence pressed down upon the kneeling guards.

"I will not ask a third time," Mayor Henar spoke, his voice dangerously quiet, cutting through the ambient groans of the caged beastmen.

"Explain yourselves. What is this pathetic babbling about a traveler and his wives?"

One of the guards, trembling under the Mayor’s terrifying gaze, swallowed hard and nervously scratched his matted hair.

He forced himself to step forward, keeping his eyes glued to the stone floor.

"L-Lord Mayor... forgive us!" the guard stammered, his voice quivering.

"It... it is the rumor sweeping through the upper districts since dawn! A traveling merchant arrived at the western gate late last night during the storm.

He claimed his convoy was ambushed by feral beastmen in the Hashian foothills—lost his guards, lost his servants, lost most of his cargo... but managed to escape here with his personal fortune intact!"

The guard paused, a sudden, involuntary glint of raw, filthy lust flashing across his eyes as he licked his dry lips, practically salivating at the mere thought.

"But... but Lord Mayor, the merchant isn’t what everyone is talking about! It’s his two wives!

The sentries at the gate and the innkeeper at The Sleeping Boar swears on their lives that they’ve never seen such breathtaking, intoxicating women in all their years!

One has hair like liquid fire and golden eyes that melt your soul, and the other has hair like polished obsidian and emerald eyes! Their figures... gods, their figures are—"

"Enough," Mayor Henar interrupted smoothly, raising a single, manicured hand.

The Mayor shook his head in mild disdain, turning his head toward Warden Bass.

"Warden... what is the truth behind this ridiculous gossip? Have the city patrols verified this merchant’s presence, or is this merely the delusional babbling of drunken guards?"

Warden Bass stepped forward, bowing his head respectfully. "Lord Mayor, I have already received independent reports from our informants in the commercial district.

The rumors are entirely authentic. The merchant and his two companions are indeed staying at The Sleeping Boar Inn. However..."

The Warden paused, a slight frown touching his lips. "...The women have completely refused to step outside their room since checking in.

Over the past few hours, dozens of wealthy young noblemen, drunken mercenaries, and lustful guild members have visited their door, trying to entice them out with gold, jewelry, and status."

Warden Bass sneered slightly. "Every single one of them was utterly rejected. The women declared through the door that they belong exclusively to their husband and would rather die than look at another man."

Hearing this, Mayor Henar’s eyes widened slightly before a slow, cruel smile spread across his face.

A woman who possessed staggering, world-class beauty, yet remained fierce, loyal, and unyielding?

To a man of absolute authority like Mayor Henar, who was accustomed to taking whatever he desired within the borders of Kaelos City, such news was not an annoyance—it was the ultimate challenge, a prize waiting to be claimed.

"Fascinating," Mayor Henar chuckled, his dark eyes gleaming with deep, predatory ambition.

"A loyal beauty is a rare gem in this corrupt world... and to have two of them fall right into my lap? I have been considering taking a few new concubines into my manor to celebrate our recent victories over the beastmen."

The Mayor stroked his chin, his smile widening into a predatory grin. "If these women are truly as magnificent as the entire city claims, then I shall personally go and make them mine."

Warden Bass’s brows furrowed slightly, a tinge of hesitation in his voice. "And... what of the husband, Lord Mayor? Should I send a squad of city guards to quietly eliminate him in the alleyways?"

"Eliminate him? Why waste the effort?" Mayor Henar snorted, letting out a dismissive wave of his hand. "The fool is a mundane merchant, loaded with silver and gold. For now, we leave him breathing. Let him watch as I take his wives into my estate."

The Mayor threw his head back and let out a boisterous, arrogant laugh that echoed off the cold dungeon walls.

"A worthless, mundane ant can do nothing but weep in absolute despair while I enjoy his prized possessions! Hahahahaha!"

Without paying another glance to the kneeling guards, Mayor Henar turned on his heel and strode out of the subterranean facility, his mind already set on his new acquisitions.

Meanwhile, at The Sleeping Boar Inn.

The afternoon sun filtered weakly through the grey clouds outside, casting long shadows across the wooden floorboards of the third floor.

The fat innkeeper was slowly patrolling the upper corridor, a greasy, ecstatic smile plastered across his face.

Ever since dawn, his tavern floor downstairs had been packed to capacity with paying customers, mercenaries, and wealthy young masters—all drawn here by the compulsive, irresistible urge to catch a glimpse of the legendary beauties in Room 301.

His pockets were practically bursting with bronze and silver coins collected from selling overpriced liquor to the eager crowd.

"Ah... life is good," the innkeeper muttered to himself, rubbing his hands together in glee as he approached the end of the quiet hallway.

His objective was simple: he was going to knock on Room 301 under the fake pretense of "delivering fresh towels," hoping to catch a quick glimpse of the women if the door opened even an inch.

However, as he drew within five paces of Roy’s room, the innkeeper’s boots froze against the floorboards.

"Ahhh... mmph..."

"Ah... Master..."

The innkeeper’s eyes widened to the size of saucers.

From behind the thin, wooden paneling of Room 301, the distinct, unmistakably loud sounds of heavy, rhythmic background moaning were echoing into the hallway!

Two distinct female voices—one soft and breathy, the other deep, intoxicating, and melodic—were letting out sweet, melodious gasps of pure, unbridled ecstasy.

The sound was so raw, so intensely sensual, and so deeply enchanting that it cut straight through the wooden door and struck the fat innkeeper like a physical shockwave.

FLUSH!

The innkeeper’s face turned beet red in a fraction of a second.

Blood rushed straight to his head, his breath catching in his throat as a surge of uncontrollable, burning arousal exploded through his lower body.

He stood completely paralyzed in the middle of the empty hallway, his mouth hanging wide open, his ears straining with every ounce of his soul to capture every single note of the sweet, irresistible song echoing from inside the room.
