Chapter 1805: Chapter 322: The Grand Finale (Part 2), Co-Emperor

How does it feel to become a god?

To be honest, there isn’t any special feeling, at least Gu Hang appears very calm.

However, perhaps the future of humanity will be different.

Up until now, although the Unyielding Expedition and the Dark Side Expedition are still ongoing, they can essentially be declared successful. After all, the root of these two expeditions is the revitalization movement initiated by humanity since the Catastrophe Era.

Currently, 90% of the Old Empire’s territory has been brought back under control during the expeditions. And because this is an operation that can be considered a reconstruction, the armies swept through, clearing out old systems and old Interest Groups amidst the catastrophe.

The reestablished alliance framework is not built entirely from scratch; to some extent, it is still influenced by the original planetary structure. However, in any case, it is much easier than the reforms during the Old Empire era.

After experiencing the great catastrophe, many human worlds suffered immense hardship, especially those that persevered for a long time in darkness, taking over a hundred years or nearly two hundred years to be reclaimed, truly suffering severe losses.

Productivity declined significantly, nearly destroyed - this is considered fortunate. The true loss was the significant drop in population, which is the most damaging.

Not to mention, some worlds were beyond saving, either executed with safe zone strategies, or many had to carry out the Extinction Order.

These are worlds that generate no benefits.

In fact, after enduring a great catastrophe, the total productivity of the entire Human Empire dropped by thirty to forty percent - and this includes the rapid growth of productivity in the alliance’s core territories, as well as the emphasis on construction in reclaimed worlds during the alliance and New Empire’s expeditions.

If not for excellent reconstruction strategies, the empire-wide productivity plunge could have been much more than thirty to forty percent.

However, despite this, the national power of the present New Empire is certainly stronger than that of the former Old Empire.

Its mobilization capabilities and organizational skills are different.

Not to mention, the future development potential.

The Old Empire would never focus on the development of every single planet like the New Empire and the Alliance do.

The military power that the New Empire can mobilize is almost the same as during the Old Empire period. But as time goes by, with the rapid recovery of population and the gradual effectiveness of economic construction, the entire empire’s productivity will enter a period of rapid recovery.

This will further enhance the empire’s war potential.

War is the eternal theme of this universe.

Will war cease and peace come simply because the empire’s territories are fully reclaimed?

No.

Threats from Green Skins, Void Insect Species, or other Aliens will always exist. Even Gu Hang can’t eradicate them completely.

The threats from the Four Gods of Chaos in Subspace will always remain.

These are unavoidable realities.

If humanity wants to thrive and grow in this universe, war is something that can never be escaped.

Gu Hang has this realization.

And the key point after his godly ascension is that humanity is now not only considered a cosmic emperor race but has also entered the eternal game with the Four Gods.

In fact, humanity was always part of this eternal game.

The eternal game of the Four Gods primarily unfolds in Subspace. The flames of war have never ceased between the four Great Demons, as they constantly attack each other.

After The Emperor ascended, he had to participate in this game.

Aside from Subspace, the real universe is also their playground, and humanity, as a species, inevitably joined the game.

But previously, humanity was a pawn in the game and not considered a player.

Even The Emperor couldn’t change this, as he could only manage one side; trying to manage both the Subspace and the real universe meant not holding advantage in Subspace and witnessing the bleeding of the Human Empire he built in the real universe.

But in the future, it will be different.

Even though Gu Hang, post-godhood, hasn’t had any direct interactions with the Empire and isn’t even considered acquainted, there is a certain understanding.

The Emperor’s influence on reality is retracting, focusing more on Subspace in the future.

Up till now, there are even some tangible results, looking at the increasingly dim Scarlet Scars and several new corridors like the Seven Star Corridor appearing on it, similar to the connecting routes between the two sides, revealing The Emperor’s significant efforts.

Meanwhile, the safety of faster-than-light interstellar travel using the Star Realm Tunnel has greatly improved. With the protection of the Thunder Torch Tower, it might be even safer, faster, and more convenient than before the Catastrophe Era.

Gu Hang’s focus is clearly set in the real universe.

Unless unexpected events occur, he will likely oversee Holy Terra long-term, managing all military and political affairs of the Human Empire in the real universe. The threat of Chaos on the real universe will be managed by him, freeing The Emperor from a significant burden.

Of course, Gu Hang won’t completely ignore matters in Subspace.

He is keenly aware that the Four Gods cannot be eradicated. Even at an equal level, it’s impossible to destroy any one of them. Their existence is rooted in more fundamental emotions.
