Chapter 304: Chapter 175: President Duan, I Wasn’t Born to Smile

"Sweetie, you have such good taste." Duan Yu Yan beamed as she bent down to scoop her up.

"MWAH~" Zhou Momo leaned in to give her a kiss, exclaiming in her sweet, child-like voice, "Wow~ Yuyan, you smell as good as ever! But this time, it smells like peaches!"

"Goodness, you can actually tell it’s a peach scent." Duan Yu Yan looked at her in surprise. The perfume she wore today had a hint of peach, but the fragrance was very subtle. She never expected the little one to be able to pick it out.

"Uh-huh, I love peaches." The little girl nodded, her smile radiant. "And I like you too."

"You’re so sweet, and you give the best compliments. I like you too." Duan Yu Yan beamed and gave her a kiss on the cheek, then set her down on the floor and showed off the box in her hand. "Look what I brought for you."

"What is it?" Zhou Momo’s face was full of curiosity as she craned her neck to see.

"I bought you a little leather jacket and a hat." Duan Yu Yan opened the bag and pulled out a small, brown leather jacket, followed by a wine-red flat cap.

Zhou Momo’s eyes sparkled. Clapping her little hands, she chirped, "Wow! It’s just like your hat! It’s shaped like a duck’s bill!"

"Here, let me see you wear it." Duan Yu Yan placed the hat on Zhou Momo’s head. With the little girl’s hair in pigtails today, the flat cap was a perfect fit.

"Hehe, cute! And a little cool too." Duan Yu Yan nodded in satisfaction and took Zhou Momo’s hand, leading her into the restaurant. "Come on, let’s take off your little floral jacket so we can try on the leather one. I had someone bring this all the way from Xiangjiang, you know. The styles at the Rongcheng department store are a little ugly."

The driver, Yan Fei, got out of the driver’s seat, jogged over to the other side, and opened the car door. "Mrs. Qiu, please watch your step."

"I’m fine." Mrs. Qiu got out of the car. She was wearing a gray, mid-length qipao today, her hair still impeccably tied up. She had an off-white shawl draped over her shoulders. Watching Duan Yu Yan holding little Zhou Momo’s hand, a smile touched her lips as well.

’This little one is just too adorable. So tiny, yet so sweet with her words, and her compliments are always spot on. It shows she has a good upbringing and is very clever.’

"Whoa, whoa! Isn’t that a Crown? Holy crap, you can even see a car like that in Suji?!" Huang Bing and Huang Ying were riding their bikes side-by-side when Huang Bing spotted the car parked in front of the restaurant and exclaimed.

"What are you getting so worked up about? It’s not the first time you’ve seen a car." Huang Ying’s handlebars wobbled as she rolled her eyes at him.

"You don’t know shit! This is a Crown! We could sell our Feiyan Restaurant and still not be able to afford one." Huang Bing craned his neck to get a better look. "I thought there was only one in all of Jiazhou. The owner came to our restaurant once, a really pretty girl. It had a black plate..."

"Huh? How come the license plate number is the same!"

The two bicycles stopped at the restaurant’s entrance.

Huang Bing and Huang Ying looked into the restaurant at the same time.

An old lady in a qipao with her silver hair tied up high, and a young woman in a leather jacket and skirt were walking into the restaurant.

"Isn’t that Mrs. Qiu? She’s a regular at our restaurant!" Huang Ying covered her mouth, her face filled with shock.

"That’s her!" Huang Bing’s eyes were fixed on the young woman in the flat cap. You couldn’t find anyone else in Jiazhou City with such a fashionable outfit.

The siblings exchanged a look, and they both saw the worry in each other’s eyes.

"They probably don’t know Yan, right? Someone who drives a Crown wouldn’t come all the way to this little town to eat so often, would they?" Huang Bing said in a low voice.

"I hope so," Huang Ying whispered.

Then, the two of them saw Duan Yu Yan inside the restaurant, putting a jacket on Zhou Momo—a small, brown leather one.

The little girl also had a wine-red flat cap on her head.

Her outfit was a near-perfect match to Duan Yu Yan’s.

"Looks like they don’t just know him. They’re probably very close." Huang Bing’s smile was tinged with bitterness.

"Well, now our only hope is that they don’t order the stewed meat." Huang Ying also sighed softly.

What did Feiyan Restaurant fear the most?

Their regulars going to Zhou Yan’s place to eat, of course!

The two of them parked their bicycles.

Huang Bing felt a chill run down his spine. He glanced back and his eyes met the gaze of the driver sitting in the Crown’s driver’s seat. The man’s look was cold, with a sharp, murderous glint.

"Why is that driver staring at me?" Huang Bing muttered, shrinking his neck.

"He’s probably afraid a punk with dyed hair like you will get close to his young miss," Huang Ying said, as if it were obvious.

"Bullshit! I look like a good guy," Huang Bing retorted, unconvinced.

Yan Fei watched Huang Bing and Huang Ying walk into the restaurant before pulling his gaze back and parking the car off to the side.

’After failing to stop both the guy with the buzz cut and the old man, I can’t even dream of getting a bonus anymore.’

’But to my surprise, Miss Duan and Mrs. Qiu hadn’t come to Suji for the past two weeks, and Zhou Yan hadn’t come to the Qiu Mansion to find Miss Duan either.’

’President Duan hadn’t fired me, my salary was paid as usual, and he even gave me a fifty-yuan raise.’

’A man gives his life for the one who recognizes his worth!’

Yan Fei swore to protect Miss Duan and Mrs. Qiu for President Duan, even if it cost him his life. A little punk with dyed hair like the one just now would have been thrown far, far away if he’d ever appeared near the Qiu Mansion.

’When it comes to fending off punks, I’ve got a trick or two up my sleeve!’

Inside the restaurant, Zhou Yan and Mrs. Zhao stood to the side, watching Zhou Momo in her new clothes.

The small leather jacket was a perfect fit. The style was a bit like the one Duan Yu Yan herself was wearing, and the leather looked soft.

After putting it on, Zhou Momo looked so full of life and cute. The flat cap on her head made her look even more adorable.

This was how rich people bought clothes. What mattered was a perfect fit; they never considered leaving room to grow for next year, because they would just buy their children new ones then anyway.

"Mm, it looks good, and the size is just right. My taste really is spot-on." Duan Yu Yan nodded, extremely satisfied. She reached out and pinched Zhou Momo’s chubby cheeks, saying with a smile, "It’s a gift from me. Make sure you wear it often, okay?"
