Chapter 1042: Chapter 148: Cooperation 2
Gao Gong’s eyes went straight to the Galen guy in the middle with the bowl-cut. For one simple reason: this Galen’s looks were way too delicate—rosy lips, white teeth, lanky frame, like some pretty little boy toy.
You had to know, Galen people as a human form species normally look big and burly as hell, all over metal muscle.
And although the Galen people are a human form species, they’re not mammals, but oviparous. In other words, Galen don’t give birth to people, they lay eggs. Add in technological progress, and all infants are publicly raised.
Motherhood culture in this Intelligent Species had vanished many years ago.
Even female Galen people aren’t much different from the men.
So seeing such a delicate Galen at first glance, Gao Gong couldn’t help looking a few more times.
"Let me introduce you. This is Lord Kiliman’s younger brother, Lord Kisuke," Qin Zhenzii said warmly, even taking the initiative to pull Kisuke by the arm.
And when this pretty young Galen got tugged like that, his face turned red all at once—the Golden Skin flushed, like a burning soldering iron.
"Captain Cybertron, my brother already told me about you."
"Your lordship’s a Metal Executor too?" Gao Gong asked curiously. Even though he hadn’t used Investigation, he could clearly sense the surging blood and qi under that weak-bottom facade.
For Galen people, who are broadly ’metal poisoned,’ robust blood and qi is the mark of a Strong one.
"I’m not a Metal Executor, I’m a lieutenant in the Clone Team..."
Kisuke answered honestly, and the Galen beside him hurriedly coughed a few times to stop this guy from blurting out everything.
Feels like that Kiliman doesn’t have many people left to use, sending out a chick like this.
"Your lordship, before we trade—or even talk details—I think we need to sign a confidentiality contract," a Galen next to him took the initiative to say.
"Confidentiality contract. Which system?" Gao Gong raised an eyebrow.
"An information contract." The other pulled out a "USB stick" and handed it over.
Confidentiality contracts come in four types: Information Lock, Mechanical Lock, Energy Lock, Biological Lock—matching the four major systems.
Among them, the Information Lock has different names in different civilizations, like the Wizard Civilization’s "Oath Scroll," Dimensional Civilizations’ "Secret Room," Advanced Civilizations’ "basic Causality Law Weapon." It’s an encryption method that acts directly on Consciousness.
Gao Gong didn’t speak. He swept the USB stick with Investigation, and after confirming it was a proper Information Contract, the skin on his palm wriggled on its own, revealing a Transformation port, and he plugged it in.
The next instant, a hard-to-describe feeling appeared—like a "read-only file" got installed into his Human Body System: you can read it, but it can’t be saved into the Memory System.
An auto-deleting memory file.
As an old driver on the information side, Gao Gong instantly understood the mechanics behind this "confidentiality contract."
Gao Gong said nothing, quietly waiting for their next move.
Qin Zhenzii did the same, except she flipped open her temple, revealing her brain port, then inserted the USB.
Seeing that both of them followed suit, the three Galen visibly let out a breath of relief.
Looks like this is their first time doing this kind of job too.
"You should already know the rough outline of the cooperation. My brother must have told you," Kisuke said.
"I basically know it’s some kind of human experiment project. The specifics, I don’t," Gao Gong said lightly.
"We’ll supply you with some Galen human material, and you’ll carry out certain implant-type experiments according to our requirements," another Galen spoke up.
"We wouldn’t dare lay hands on members of a Level 3 Civilization. You’d better spell out exactly what this ’human material’ is," Gao Gong raised a brow.
"Clones."
"So that’s how it is."
The Galen are major users of Clones.
Compared to the Mirta People, who widely use Mecha loaded with AI, the Galen prefer Clones as a cannon-fodder Soldier Species. But no matter how much cannon fodder they are, they’re still Galen Bloodline. If the experiments got exposed, Gao Gong would become the Galen Federation’s Deadly Enemy, even if his employer is Galen himself.
"That’s a hell of a risky business. What do we get out of it?" Gao Gong shot back.
"Whatever you need," another Galen said with confidence. "Warships, weapons, resources, population, technology—so long as you fulfill our conditions, we can satisfy any demand you have."
Gao Gong neither agreed nor disagreed.
If this were before he got his fleet, he’d for sure be over the moon at that kind of reward. After all, even the best cook can’t work without rice. Without a fixed territory, he’s short of everything.
But now, as long as he takes Long-horned Whale Alpha, he can build anything he wants.
Still, he didn’t turn them down on the spot.
He’d poached a massive fleet off the Mirta Federation. Even if the models, appearance, and weapon systems had all been magically overhauled, the odds of getting recognized in a real fight were honestly quite high—especially since the Federation is bound and determined to seize Long-horned Whale Alpha. He’s 100% going to clash with them.
For example, back at the Spaceport, he’d sensed a subtle Telekinesis, most likely a Mirta People agent monitoring this Black Market.
Since he’ll very likely end up offending the Mirta Federation anyway, then with another Level 3 Civilization—even if it’s just some underground faction of a Level 3 Civilization—it’s best to cooperate where you can. Who knows, he might get connected to some Galen high-level while he’s at it.
But a business where the buyer throws himself at you is never worth much; Gao Gong still wanted to squeeze them a bit. So he said righteously:
"Don’t get me wrong, I’m not that kind of guy. My morality tells me I can’t use Intelligent Species for human experimentation."
Kisuke panicked at once. "The Clones we cultivate have their brain development deliberately restricted. They don’t have any self-Consciousness, they’re just living Organisms—"
Another Galen stopped Kisuke, using world-weary eyes to scan Gao Gong up and down, and said steadily:
"How much is your morality worth, your lordship?"
...
Inside the Golden Hall of the Mechanical Serpent Constellation, another deal was underway. The Pai Daxing was still sitting on the golden throne, its pink tentacles twitching from time to time, looking dopey and adorable.
But its counterpart in the negotiation was terrifyingly powerful.
His head almost reached the ceiling of the hall. He wasn’t entirely a human form species—at least his lower half was more like a whale covered in tentacles. Just his upper body alone was a full two thousand meters, and his lower body was even more exaggerated. Just hovering there in midair, he looked like some colossal space beast.
And his blood and qi practically overfilled the entire Golden Hall. In several openings on his whale back, barely visible Biological Energy surged like Wolf Smoke Red Pillars, not only drawing in the Biological Magnetic Field, but also brewing even greater changes.
That kind of evolution, generally speaking, is only possible after entering deep-level Carbon Fusion.
"Help me one more time, Collector." The monster’s voice was like thunder, making the floor rumble and boom. "This time I’ll definitely take Long-horned Whale Alpha!"
"You should know this, Leviathan—Angel investment only has one round," the Collector smiled. "You missed it. I can’t help you anymore."
"How was I supposed to know that Old Walter would fire up the Planet Cannon!!" Leviathan roared, whiskers ten-plus meters long whipping like a storm tearing through a rainforest.
"You know my strength, Collector. Once I take that planet, I’ll hand over all of Old Walter’s collection to you."
The Collector wasn’t intimidated by his presence. It stroked its chin with a tentacle, and suddenly said:
"How many Leviathan Giant Beasts is your tribe willing to give you?"
