Chapter 263 Aura's Awakening, Cleanse the Code

  • Next Chapter

The black dome of [Death's Duel] vanished, dissolving seamlessly into the frozen air of the shattered sandbox.

Dante materialized precisely where he had been standing before the duel initiated. The dark purple plating of his [Evil Spirit Armor] was completely flawless, untouched by the chaotic violence of the execution he had just performed.

He didn't check his system interface for the kill notification or the dropped loot.

He immediately turned his attention to the floor behind him.

Victoria, the Fey Sovereign, was lying on the freezing black glass. The massive, jagged red wound in her stomach wasn't bleeding blood; it was actively leaking aggressive, glowing red system code. The [Systemic Rot] debuff was relentlessly tearing through her digital avatar, unraveling her localized existence.

Chloe was kneeling beside her mother, sobbing uncontrollably, her hands covered in the red code as she desperately, uselessly tried to push her own low-level healing magic into the wound.

"She's dying, Dante!" Chloe screamed, looking up at him with wide, terrified eyes. "The red light... it won't stop! My spells aren't doing anything!"

"Your magic is bound by the system's rules," Dante said softly, stepping closer. "The Arch-Administrator's code bypasses standard logic. You can't heal a deletion command."

"Then she's gone?" Chloe whispered, her voice breaking entirely.

Dante didn't answer immediately. He looked at Victoria's health bar. It was completely empty, replaced by a flashing red warning indicator that her core architecture was actively failing. She had less than thirty seconds before her code was permanently, irreversibly unspooled.

"Not if I have a say in it," Dante stated firmly.

He didn't open his inventory. He didn't search for a high-tier potion or a Holy-Forbidden consumable. A potion wouldn't fix a localized system wipe.

He needed an anomaly.

He tapped his private pet interface.

"Aura," Dante commanded. "Get out here."

A brilliant, blinding flash of silver light erupted in the dim, frozen room.

The Grade 8 Mystic Sovereign didn't just pop out of her pocket dimension. She materialized with an overwhelming, aggressive surge of pure celestial energy. Her elegant starlight dress actively pushed back the freezing air, and her luminescent silver eyes locked immediately onto the dying Sovereign on the floor.

Aura didn't wait for Dante to issue a specific command.

The massive influx of experience points Dante had earned from the localized slaughter of the hundred-thousand-strong Beast-Kin army on the shores of Radiant Lake, combined with the astronomical experience yield from executing Jack, the Level 85 Demon Lord, finally processed through the system's shared pet-experience algorithm.

The system interface above Aura's head violently hitched, flashing an incredibly bright, pure white light.

[Pet: Aura has reached Level 41.]

[Evolution Sequence Initiated.]

Aura didn't grow larger. Her physical appearance didn't drastically shift into a new form.

Instead, the intensity of the starlight radiating from her body magnified exponentially. The three starlight tails weaving behind her multiplied, expanding into nine incredibly long, flowing ribbons of pure, concentrated cosmic energy.

[Evolution Complete.]

[Grade: Celestial Grade (Apex Sprite)]

[New Innate Abilities Unlocked.]

Dante barely had time to read the rapid-fire notifications before Aura moved.

She floated down gracefully, hovering inches above the frozen glass floor, directly over Victoria's fading avatar.

Aura didn't cast a standard healing spell. She didn't use [Resurgence Wave].

She raised both of her pale, glowing hands, aiming them directly at the jagged red wound in Victoria's stomach.

[Skill Activated: Holy Spirit Light]

It wasn't a heal. It was a targeted, incredibly concentrated beam of absolute systemic purification. The blinding silver light shot from Aura's hands and slammed directly into the red deletion code.

The Zenith Protocol's combat engine shrieked, the sound of tearing static echoing through the ruined sandbox.

The Arch-Administrator's [Systemic Rot] actively tried to consume the silver light, fighting back against the cleanse. But Aura wasn't a standard pet anymore. She was a Celestial Grade entity, born from a Calamity and forged in the blood of an open-world war. Her cosmic weight overpowered the localized deletion command.

The red code hissed violently, turning a dull gray, before completely dissolving into harmless digital dust.

[System Override: Systemic Rot Neutralized.]

The un-cleansable debuff vanished from Victoria's status bar.

"The red light is gone!" Chloe gasped, pulling her hands back.

But Victoria wasn't saved yet. The debuff was purged, but the massive, catastrophic physical damage remained. Her health bar was still empty, and her avatar was completely unresponsive.

Aura didn't pause. She immediately dropped her hands and let out a single, incredibly loud, resonant chime that echoed perfectly through the quiet room.

[Skill Activated: Blessing of All Life]

A massive, invisible aura of pure, concentrated starlight expanded outward from the tiny Sprite, encompassing a 500-foot radius. It completely engulfed Dante, Chloe, Erebus, and the dying Sovereign.

[Party Buff Applied: Blessing of All Life]

[Effect 1: Absolute immunity to all Crowd Control mechanics.]

[Effect 2: Grants a continuous, passive health regeneration of 10% Maximum HP per second to all allied entities within the aura.]

Dante stared at the prompt.

Ten percent of maximum HP per second.

Aria's [Life Song] was a flat 1,000 HP per second. It was incredible in the early game. But Aura's new buff was percentage-based. For Dante, with his massive 35,500 health pool, she was passively regenerating 3,550 health every single second.

For a Super-Divine entity like Victoria, whose health pool numbered in the tens of millions, the passive regeneration was mathematically apocalyptic.

Millions of health points aggressively flooded back into Victoria's avatar.

The massive, jagged wound in her stomach closed seamlessly in a fraction of a second. The shattered, dull gray pixels of her stained-glass wings rapidly reformed, bursting with vibrant, colorful light.

Victoria gasped loudly, her icy silver eyes snapping open.

The Fey Sovereign sat up, her breath pluming in the freezing air. She looked down at her completely healed stomach, then looked up at the glowing, nine-tailed sprite hovering above her.

"You..." Victoria whispered, absolute, unfiltered awe in her voice. "You possess the light of the First Cycle."

"She's a very good pet," Dante noted smoothly, crossing his arms.

Aura chimed happily, spinning in a tight circle before floating over to rest comfortably on Dante's dark purple pauldron. She nuzzled his helmet affectionately, thoroughly satisfied with her localized rescue operation.

"Mother!" Chloe shrieked, launching herself forward and hugging Victoria tightly.

The towering Sovereign wrapped her arms around her daughter, closing her eyes in profound relief.

Dante didn't interrupt the reunion. He needed to check his own progression. The execution of a Level 85 proxy had granted him a massive influx of system data.

He opened his personal interface.

[Participant: Dan]

[Current Level: 76]

He had jumped two full levels from the duel.

But the standard level-up notification wasn't the only prompt hovering in his vision. The system had registered the completion of a major milestone requirement within the [Asura Vanguard] class tree.

[Class Objective Met: Execute an Entity of Systemic Authority.]

[New Skill Unlocked: Phoenix Fire Seed]

Dante's red eyes narrowed slightly. He hadn't expected a new skill outside of the standard leveling thresholds.

He tapped the prompt to read the description.

[Phoenix Fire Seed (Active)]

[Description: A localized, delayed execution mechanic. The user embeds a tiny, imperceptible seed of dark fire into a target entity. The seed deals no initial damage. If the target entity's health drops to 0 while the seed is active, the seed violently detonates, inflicting instantaneous, unavoidable True Death on all hostile entities within a 50-foot radius of the target. Bypasses all standard immunities and invulnerability frames. Cooldown: 10 Minutes.]

Dante stared at the text.

He read it again to make sure he wasn't misinterpreting the systemic math.

It was a delayed, localized instant-death bomb. If he planted the seed in a target, and that target died, every single enemy standing near them was instantly deleted. It didn't deal damage; it triggered a localized systemic wipe.

And because of his [Chrono-Shift] talent, the ten-minute cooldown was slashed to five minutes, and it cost zero mana to cast.

Dante slowly closed the interface. A cold, incredibly dangerous smile touched his lips.

The Arch-Administrator had tried to delete him with a beam from the sky. It had sent a proxy to overwrite his coordinates.

Now, Dante had a button that allowed him to turn his enemies into localized weapons of mass destruction.

"Are we done here?" Dante asked casually, looking back at the two Fey royals sitting on the frozen glass floor.

Victoria stood up gracefully, pulling Chloe to her feet. The Sovereign's power was completely restored, her massive wings casting vibrant colors across the dark room.

"We are, Champion," Victoria said, bowing her head slightly in deep respect. "You have saved my life, and you have preserved the sanctuary. The Fey Continent owes you a debt that cannot be measured in gold or artifacts."

"We'll discuss the billing later," Dante deflected smoothly. "Right now, I have a guild fighting a hundred thousand mind-controlled beasts outside on your lawn. I need to go finish the job."

Victoria's silver eyes hardened. "You will not fight them alone. I am the Sovereign of this realm. The Arch-Administrator's corruption will not stand in my domain."

The Fey Sovereign raised her ancient wooden staff. She didn't cast a localized spell.

The frozen glass walls of the shattered administrative sandbox violently exploded outward, completely obliterating the remnants of Vane's laboratory.

Dante didn't flinch as the glass shattered. He looked past the falling debris, staring out at the massive, chaotic battlefield raging across the shores of Radiant Lake.

Aegis Vanguard was holding the line perfectly, but the sheer volume of corrupted Beast-Kin was staggering.

Dante drew the [Dawn-Breaker Blade]. He didn't need [Voidsever] for a crowd.

"Aura," Dante commanded. "Keep the buffs up."

The tiny sprite chimed confidently.

"Let's go clean up the trash," Dante said, triggering [Meteor Stride] and vanishing into the fray.

Dante materialized on the white sandy shores of Radiant Lake with a localized sonic boom, dropping instantly back into the chaotic, sprawling war zone.

He didn't need to ask for a status update. His 100 points of Intuition immediately processed the battlefield dynamics.

Aegis Vanguard was fighting flawlessly. The fifty thousand elite players had formed massive, overlapping shield walls, completely containing the corrupted Beast-Kin army.

Sera was directing the artillery fire, Nyx was systematically deleting the remaining system constructs, and Lila's gravity wells were preventing any flanking maneuvers.

But the sheer, overwhelming volume of the enemy forces was a problem. The hundred-thousand-strong army, even devoid of Jack's administrative leadership, was mindlessly throwing themselves against the golden shields.
