Started with a 10,000x Multiplier in a Game World
Chapter 259: Reincarnation Counter-Attack, A Godly Deflection
Victoria pressed her glowing, translucent hand directly against the dark purple plating of Dante's chest armor.
The Fey Sovereign was completely exhausted, her beautiful stained glass wings fracturing and dropping silver dust onto the jade pavilion. But she was not entirely devoid of power.
She poured the very last reserves of her ancient, foundational magic directly into the Outworlder standing before her.
The system interface immediately erupted in front of Dante's vision. The text flashed a brilliant, blinding emerald green.
[System Transfer Initiated: Ancient Sylvan Magic Acquired.]
Dante did not just receive a temporary buff. The raw, unfiltered code of the Fey Sovereign integrated directly into his digital physiology. He felt an intense, freezing rush of absolute clarity flood his neural link.
The anomaly in his character data recognized the raw magical input.
[Talent Activated: 10,000x Multiplier.]
[Registering 10,000 flawless magical attunements.]
Dante had never trained in elemental casting. He was a Warrior by design, relying on massive physical damage and spatial displacement. But the 10,000x multiplier did not care about class restrictions. It forced the raw magical data through a hyper-accelerated evolutionary process, feeding ten thousand lifetimes of magical mastery directly into his brain in a single millisecond.
[Ancient Sylvan Magic has reached Adept tier.]
[Ancient Sylvan Magic has reached Master tier.]
[Ancient Sylvan Magic has reached Grandmaster tier.]
The air around Dante crackled with intense, freezing energy.
[Ancient Sylvan Magic has reached Zenith tier.]
[Skill Evolution Triggered.]
Two brand new, highly specific skill icons materialized on his active combat bar.
[Skill Learned: Reincarnation Counter-Attack (Zenith)]
[Description: The ultimate expression of magical deflection. The user catches any incoming hostile spell or magical artillery projectile. The captured magic is instantly reversed in polarity and hurled back at the attacker. The reflected projectile deals damage equal to the original spell plus 300 percent of the user's base Attack Power. Cooldown: None (Chrono-Shift Active).]
[Skill Learned: Thousand Miles of Ice (Zenith)]
[Description: A catastrophic area of effect freeze. The user rapidly extracts all thermal energy from a massive radius, instantly flash-freezing all hostile targets. Bypasses standard elemental immunities.]
Dante read the descriptions. A cold, incredibly satisfied smile spread across his face. The [Reincarnation Counter-Attack] was mathematically absurd.
It did not just bounce a spell away like his standard parry. It absorbed the magic, added three times his own monstrous attack power to the payload, and turned it into a targeted missile.
"I can work with this," Dante whispered.
He gently stepped back from Victoria. The Fey Sovereign slumped forward, caught immediately by her daughter, Chloe.
"Rest," Dante told the two women. "Erebus, stay here and guard them. If anything gets close to the pavilion, turn it into a chair."
The Half-Soul Celestial nodded, taking another bite of her meat bun.
Dante turned his attention back to the massive conflict raging on the white sandy shores of Moonlight Lake.
The battle was absolute chaos. The fifty thousand elite players of Aegis Vanguard had formed a brilliant, overlapping golden shield wall.
They were holding their ground flawlessly against the hundred thousand corrupted Beast-Kin warriors, creating a brutal meat grinder on the beach.
But Jack, the Demon Lord of Illusion City, was losing his patience.
The Level 85 System Proxy sat on his hovering obsidian throne, looking down at the unyielding player army with extreme annoyance. His perfectly tailored black suit was spotless, but his sadistic smile was twitching.
"These little anomalies are remarkably stubborn," Jack complained, waving his hand dismissively at the frontline. "They refuse to die properly. I suppose we must increase the temperature."
Jack pointed a pale finger toward the thick, corrupted tree line at the edge of the beach.
"Siege mages," Jack commanded, his voice carrying a crisp, terrifyingly clear echo across the entire battlefield. "Level their frontline. Turn that golden shield wall into slag."
Thousands of corrupted, mind-controlled mages stepped forward from the shadows of the trees. They raised heavy, twisted wooden staves topped with glowing red crystals. They began chanting in perfect, systemic synchronization.
The air above the dark forest grew incredibly hot. Massive, overlapping magical circles flared to life, burning with intense, corrupted fire magic.
Down on the beach, Sera saw the massive artillery arrays forming in the backline.
"Incoming bombardment!" Sera roared over the guild communications channel. "Tanks, lock your shields! Healers, prep your area of effect restorations! Brace for impact!"
Garrick stood at the very front of the line. The middle aged man slammed his rusty iron sword against his shield.
"I have the aggro!" Garrick yelled, his face turning red with absolute frustration. "I am thinking about the customer service hotline! My spite is maximum!"
The dark red dome of his innate talent flared brightly, providing a massive physical barrier. But Garrick was only one man, and his shield could not cover the entire fifty thousand player frontline. The sheer volume of the incoming artillery was going to cause massive casualties across the flanks.
Jack snapped his fingers.
The corrupted siege mages unleashed their payload.
Thousands of massive, superheated fireballs launched into the sky. They blotted out the twinkling stars of the sanctuary, raining down like a targeted, apocalyptic meteor shower directly toward the Aegis Vanguard shield wall.
"Here they come!" Casanova shouted, crossing his massive, muscular arms over his face.
Before the first fireball could hit the ground, a blinding flash of white light erupted directly in front of Garrick's shield.
Dante materialized on the front line.
He did not draw [Voidsever]. He did not activate his defensive storm of flying silver swords.
He stepped completely out from behind the safety of the shield wall, exposing himself to the falling sky.
"Boss!" Mei screamed, gripping her massive cast iron frying pan. "You are going to get melted!"
Dante did not retreat. He looked up at the thousands of massive fireballs screaming down toward him. He raised his empty left hand, pointing his open palm directly at the incoming magical artillery.
[Skill Executed: Reincarnation Counter-Attack]
The system interface flashed a brilliant, aggressive emerald green.
The first massive fireball, easily the size of a transport wagon, slammed directly into Dante's open palm.
There was no explosion. There was no concussive shockwave.
The massive sphere of superheated corrupted fire hit his dark purple gauntlet and instantly stopped. It compressed violently, shrinking from the size of a wagon down to a tiny, incredibly dense orb of blinding red light hovering just an inch above his palm.
Dante felt the raw mathematical data of the spell flow through his new Zenith tier skill. The system calculated the base damage of the enemy fireball. Then, it looked at Dante's core attributes.
Dante possessed a massive, heavily inflated base Attack Power. He was wearing Celestial tier gear, and he had recently dumped dozens of free attribute points directly into his Strength stat.
The skill took his massive attack power, multiplied it by three, and violently shoved that raw numerical value directly into the compressed fireball.
The tiny red orb in his hand instantly shifted from a bright orange to a blinding, unstable, aggressive white hot plasma.
Dante casually flicked his wrist, throwing the compressed orb back toward the corrupted army.
"Return to sender," Dante said calmly.
The white hot orb shot across the beach at terrifying speed. It bypassed the corrupted infantry and slammed directly into the center of the siege mages' backline.
The explosion defied all standard game logic.
BOOM!
It was not a standard magical detonation. It was a localized nuclear strike. The sheer, overwhelming mathematical force of Dante's tripled attack power, combined with the original spell damage, completely vaporized a fifty yard radius of the forest.
The red damage numbers flooded the sky.
[-3,450,000! OVERKILL!]
[-3,450,000! OVERKILL!]
[-3,450,000! OVERKILL!]
Hundreds of elite, mind controlled siege mages were instantaneously deleted from the server. They did not even have time to register the impact. They were turned into fine digital ash, leaving a massive, smoking crater in the middle of Jack's carefully organized backline.
The entire battlefield fell completely silent. The Aegis Vanguard players stared at the massive crater in absolute shock.
"He just played dodgeball with a meteor," Casanova whispered, his jaw hanging open. "And he won."
Dante did not stop. Because of his [Chrono-Shift] talent, the Zenith tier counter attack had absolutely zero cooldown.
The rest of the enemy fireballs were still falling.
Dante became a blur of dark purple armor. He triggered [Phantom Dash], teleporting rapidly back and forth across the front line. He did not dodge the incoming artillery. He actively hunted the fireballs in mid air.
He raised his hands, catching two massive fireballs simultaneously. He compressed them, infused them with his monstrous attack power, and hurled them back like baseballs.
BOOM! BOOM!
Two more massive craters exploded in the corrupted army's ranks.
He teleported again, catching another cluster of dark magic. He spun on his heel and threw the compressed magic directly into a tight formation of heavy Beast Kin cavalry. The explosion completely shredded the armored rhinos and their riders, blasting massive holes in the enemy vanguard.
Dante caught and threw dozens of spells in less than five seconds.
He was a one man, automated anti air defense system. He flawlessly shielded his entire guild from the bombardment, turning the enemy's own offensive strategy into their absolute destruction.
The corrupted siege mages who survived the initial explosions immediately stopped casting. Their Gold tier artificial intelligence broke completely, terrified of firing another spell only to have it returned with apocalyptic force.
Jack, sitting on his floating obsidian throne, stopped smiling.
The Demon Lord gripped the arms of his throne, his pale face twisting into a mask of pure, unfiltered fury. He watched his elite artillery division get completely erased by their own magic.
"He is deflecting localized magical parameters," Jack hissed, standing up from his throne. The pristine black suit he wore began to pulse with dark, aggressive energy. "He is actively rewriting the combat math. This is unacceptable."
Down on the beach, Dante caught the final, stray fireball. He compressed it into a tiny white star and lazily tossed it into a group of retreating corrupted hounds, watching them vaporize in a bright flash.
He dusted off his gauntlets and turned to look at his guild.
The fifty thousand players of Aegis Vanguard were staring at him. Their morale, which had been steady, suddenly skyrocketed into absolute, fanatic devotion. Their Guild Master was not just a strong fighter. He was functionally untouchable.
"Do not just stand there," Dante called out, drawing the gold [Dawn-Breaker Blade]. "The artillery is down. Push the line."
Gawain's voice boomed over the guild comms. "You heard the Boss! Aegis Vanguard, advance!"
The golden shield wall surged forward. Empowered by the sheer spectacle of Dante's counter attack, the guild crashed into the disorganized, panicked ranks of the corrupted army. Without their magical support, the Beast Kin monsters were rapidly overwhelmed by the highly coordinated player forces.
Dante watched the front line advance, entirely satisfied with the push.
He looked up at the sky.
Jack was still standing on his floating throne. The Demon Lord was glaring down at Dante, raising his hand to issue a new command.
Dante knew the artillery failure would not stop the System Proxy. Jack still had a massive army, and he was likely hiding incredibly dangerous mechanics to force a server wipe. Dante needed to completely shatter the enemy's ability to maintain a frontline.
He needed to test the second skill Victoria had given him.
