Star Wars: Daimon's Story
Chapter 211: The annals of war
Entering the first system in the Ulgath Cluster, Daimon’s fleet, officially named the Galactic Fleet, crossed into the darkness of the cluster. Two million ships moved in staggered waves behind the Devastator, their weapons primed and ready.
As they neared their first target, Daimon conducted a fleet wide broadcast to boost morale of the allied fleet before they were thrown at the endless number of enemies that they were about to face. Normally, he’d come up with his own speech, but this time he decided to mix some of his speech up with that of one of his favorate games from his previous life.
"Never before have so many people come together from every corner of the galaxy. The Abominor War was the first one of its kind. Now we face another galactic invasion from the Killiks and Aruun. Aruun will show us no mercy throughout this campaign, and we must not give them an inch of room to breathe."
"Even now, populations across the galaxy are being killed by Killik invasion forces. But we have other forces moving to deal with that and help save those people. We must stand strong in this campaign as those across the galaxy are standing strong for us." Daimon said as videos from around the galaxy were showing the people’s massive support for the Campaign. Most were chanting Daimon’s name, some were chanting the Federations, and others support for their own people who joined this conflict.
Daimon ensured that all members of the Galactic Federation contributed forces so that once they win, they could say in the future that they fought for the galaxy against an overwhelming enemy. The logistics for this was insane, but manageable thanks to the Dimensional Gates and Hyperspace Gates. Even Kamino had sent some clone soldiers and a few technicians to support the campaign.
"They will not stop until we are all dead or enslaved, but we will not allow that to happen. We will win and bring the galaxy, hopefully to an era of peace where we will rebuild."
"Each of you will be defined by your actions in this campaign, so I ask you to stand fast, stand strong, and stand together. Once we find their homeworld, the battle will be utter hell. But do not worry, because I will be the first one to charge into that Hell and bring down the walls. Once the walls are broken, Aruun and the Killiks, will be no more."
"Many of you will die. But when you answered the call of duty, you knew the consequences, yet you did it anyway. So, for final statement, I say here that those who day will be remembered for as long as the galaxy lives. Your names will be carried on throughout history, and I will even put the names of every person who sacrifices their lives, in the Imperium’s hall of heroes. That is all I have to say, now go forth and conquer."
Daimon ended his speech with a loud round of applause from the people around him. On every other ship, the people who had never had the glory of being encouraged by the Emperor himself were proud and ready for the battle. They now understood why the Gen’Dai gave him the unofficial title of God-Emperor.
With him on their side, there was not even a second of doubt that they would emerge victorious.
In the next few hours, the first engagement took place with a Killik fleet of 1 million ships. The Killik fleet emerged from the darkness, on the other side of the system. Their biological vessels, which were grown rather than built, pulsed with a green light as they charged toward the Galactic fleet in overlapping waves.
"They’re just trying to overwhelm our frontline with numbers," Cortana said as she analyzed their movements and the way they were just charging in with their own wide frontline.
"Form the shield line in the front to block the initial attack. Once it breaks, we’ll have our heavy ships be the shields for our fast attack ships to thin out the enemy numbers." Daimon ordered to the fleet in response to Cortana’s analysis.
"All ships are weapons free. Devastator, begin barrage on my mark."
The two fleets closed the distance between each other with terrifying speed. The Killiks didn’t slow down or attempt any evasive maneuvers like past battles. They simply charged forward into the Federation frontline.
The shield line had formed in the frontline, creating a giant Force shield in front of the fleet. Then as soon as the Devastator was in position and the Killik fleet was within range, Daimon gave the order.
"Engage!"
The Devastator opened fire, hundreds of thousands of weapons discharged simultaneously, leaving the entire Killik fleet frontline ships to simply cease to exist. Vaporized biomass filled the space where an entire line of biological ships had been moments before.
Behind the Devastator’s barrage, the Galactic fleet added its own barrage. Turbolasers, plasma cannons, and mass drivers tore through the swarm of ships from a dozen different angles. Republic warships, fought side by side with Imperial ships, Mandalorian gunships had charged outside of the shield alongside the allied Fighter force, weaving between Killik carriers.
Yet the Killiks kept coming. For every ship destroyed, three more emerged from the darkness of space to take its place.
They were using their own fleet as a screen to delay the Galactic fleet while their secret weapon powered up. Daimon sensed somethign was off and had closely watched the battle for any abnormalities.
A few more minutes later and what the Killiks were stalling for had finally happened. A massive energy build up was detected by Cortana from one of the planets and displayed on Daimon’s command screen.
"There is a massive energy spike coming from this planet!" Cortana said. The screen shifted to show one of the planets in the system and a massive energy spike. "I don’t know what the energy spike is, but it is very likely some hidden weapon."
And just as she said that, a massive laser was shot out from the planet, travelling so fast through space that the Galactic fleet didn’t have enough time to react.
Multiple Admirals had thought that a god chunk of the fleet was about to get wiped out by the laser, but they forgot one crucial factor. Daimon was present within the fleet.
Just in time as the frontline shield was shattered by the laser, Daimon used the Force to hold it back from wiping out tens of thousands of ships. The laser was so quite powerful and required a lot of concentration from Daimon to prevent it from causing anymore damage.
Daimon held the laser until it stopped firing, saving millions of lives in the progress. The fighters and other small craft that were within the Killik fleet were almost completely wiped out. Over 60% of the Federation’s fighters and bombers were killed by the laser.
However, with Daimon stepping up to stop the laser, the fleet was even more motivated. Hundreds of thousands of new fighters launched and the fleet pushed forward.
Watching the battle from the hidden Killik capital world, Aruun was infuriated as the laser was stopped by Daimon. He had thought that it would be too fast and strong for Daimon to stop, but it turned out that he was wrong. But he still had other ways to stop and even stall Daimon so he moved on to his other plans to stall Daimon.
The Galactic fleet on the other hand charged right through the Killik fleet which had also been severely weakened by their own laser and moved on to the conquest of the system.
Kaelduun and the other Duinuogwuins who survived had worked alongside the Galactic fleet to destroy the Killiks both on the ground and in space.
The conflict lasted for about a Month before the system was finally pacified. Daimon, throughout the conflict had used his Force teleportation ability to appear across the various battlefields and either save the lives of soldiers or completely shatter the Killiks armies.
This had overwhelmingly increased his favorability among the Federation soldiers and caused the Imperium’s own chant of ’For the Emperor’ to be expanded to the Federation soldiers.
Alongside that, Force healers were deployed all over the battlefield which helped reduce casualties across the board. In addition to this, Imperial forces led the charge because of their species abilities to survive an absurd amount of damage.
That combined with a few other things significantly reduced casualties from the Federation forces, reducing the need for millions of reinforcements.
New species that were subjugated by the Killiks were also found and rendered aid until the war was over. From there, the Galactic fleet moved from system to system, completely destroying the Killik’s and their strongholds. Daimon had split the fleet into two, one led by him and the other led by Warmaster Raelos Vyn.
Everywhere else in the galaxy, the frontlines held as the Galactic fleet made progress to end this galactic threat once and for all.
