Chapter 4167: Land Of The Seven-Treasures

Chapter 4167: Land Of The Seven-Treasures

The Immortal Lord simply ignored Astral Anura’s question, but the toad was unwilling to let things go and cursed several more times.

Lu Yin casually tossed a pathfinding stone out, and Astral Anura folded his arms in admiration. “Lord Lu, your stone-throwing technique is getting more and more refined.”

Lu Yin smiled at Astral Anura. “You can call me Seventh Bro.”

Astral Anura blinked in surprise, delighted. “Yes, Seventh Bro!”

“Lu Yin, every time I drop a Nest, you toss a stone. What is the meaning of this?” the Immortal Lord asked.

Out of pure reflex, Astral Anura snapped, “It’s none of your damn business! My Seventh Bro just can’t bear to see me feeling sick. Every time I see you toss out a Nest, I get nauseous, and Seventh Bro here takes pity on me. He throws out stones in that impossibly handsome way of his to help me forget the disgusting scene of you flinging your Nests about. Got a problem with that?”

The Immortal Lord’s voice dropped low. “You damned toad! Watch your mouth or else I will tear it off.”

“Come then! Come! I, Astral Anura, am right here waiting!” Astral Anura taunted, even as his body literally shrank in size so that he could hide behind Lu Yin.

Lu Yin lifted his eyes and looked toward Qing He. “Where is your humanoid Verdant Sage?”

The moment Lu Yin spoke, Astral Anura quickly lowered his head.

“Dead.”

Lu Yin chuckled. “No they’re not.”

“What do you know?”

“I know everything that I should know.”

“Did Luo Chan tell you?”

“I have comprehended karma,” Lu Yin calmly stated.

The Immortal Lord pondered for a moment. “They are undergoing a third transformation. They may one day recover, but that will mean nothing to your human civilization. Their enemies will never be humans again.”

“Then why did you destroy the Third Rampart back then?” Lu Yin asked.

“There was no reason. We saw it, so we destroyed it. It’s quite simple,” the Immortal Lord replied, “In the Aevum Inch, destruction is the one thing that needs no reason.

“Your human civilization has destroyed other civilizations as well.”

Lu Yin said, “I’m not trying to argue with what you did. I’m merely curious about how you even found the Third Rampart.”

“It was a coincidence.”

“Is that so?”

“I constantly scatter Nests about. Some will drift through the Aevum Inch for countless years before eventually encountering a megaverse. Other Nests might arrive in a Thread of Heaven. No one knows where they will end up. That is where coincidence comes in. But you, why are you scattering those stones about?”

Lu Yin gave a faint smile. “I would rather not answer.”

The Immortal Lord then fell silent.

Time continued to flow by, and in what felt like no time at all, several more years had passed. One day, the three saw light shining far ahead of them.

Lu Yin immediately had the Immortal Lord rush towards the light to investigate. With the Immortal Lord’s presence, Lu Yin had nothing to fear. The Immortal Lord was unquestionably a top powerhouse among Immortals.

“It should be a megaverse that is about to be reset. It has already been destroyed, so there is no point in going to see it,” the Immortal Lord stated, clearly not wanting to go.

“Let’s go take a look,” Lu Yin insisted.

The Immortal Lord hesitated for a moment longer, but then they headed towards the megaverse.

It was not long before they saw it, and it was indeed a megaverse in the midst of being reset. Strange-looking creatures within the megaverse were howling in despair as they confronted the hopeless situation of their megaverse being reset.

The reset could no longer be avoided.

Lu Yin did not know if he should consider it good luck or something else. If the reset of the megaverse had not produced a burst of light that had drawn their attention, they would not have noticed the megaverse, even if they had passed close by. The fact was, they were still a great distance away.

There were no foreign creatures outside the megaverse, which made it seem like the reset was not due to any sort of war between civilizations, but rather something due to internal causes.

If the Immemorial Citadel had been destroyed and the Tianyuan’s sequence strings snapped, then the Tianyuan would have also been reset in a similar manner.

Every megaverse had its own struggles and conflicts. This was perfectly normal.

This megaverse had been destroyed by its own hands.

Lu Yin stepped off of the green stalk and entered the megaverse. He looked at the burning Mother Tree, whose flames filled the sky and ashes covered the earth. He placed a hand upon it. “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.”

Bang.

The Mother Tree shattered, vanishing into smoke.

Outside of the megaverse, the Immortal Lord watched on in confusion. They could not understand what Lu Yin was doing or why he had gone out of his way to destroy the Mother Tree.

After destroying the Mother Tree, Lu Yin simply stood where he was without moving. In the Immortal Lord’s eyes, the young human did nothing at all, and he was just standing there inexplicably.

Only once all of the green specks of light had entered his body did Lu Yin leave. Strange looking creatures charged at him, savagery twisting their eyes as they released eerie, piercing cries.

Lu Yin vanished, only reappearing once he was in outer space. Above him, a collapsing parallel universe appeared, but he just raised a hand and clenched his fingers. Immortal matter appeared.

He was certainly not lacking in Immortal matter. Greater Sancte Green Lotus and the other Immortals had given Lu Yin more, but after he developed his Tri-Azure Sword Intent’s Hidden Sword, he had found himself lacking sufficient in Immortal matter once again. This was especially true given that Extremes Must Be Reversed could be used to strengthen his body and allow Lu Yin to infuse even more Immortal matter into the Tri-Azure Sword Intent.

He longed for the day when the Tri-Azure Sword Intent’s Hidden Swords would blanket an entire universe, resulting in a power no weaker than Obscura’s Sword Planting.

No one in the entire megaverse was competing with Lu Yin for the Immortal matter. He continued to grab more and more of it, moving at tremendous speed.

Even so, as fewer and fewer parallel universes remained, the Immortal matter that he could seize reduced accordingly. Soon, the Immortal Lord urged him to hurry up and leave.

The megaverse held absolutely no value whatsoever for the Immortal Lord. None of the creatures inhabiting the place possessed any traits that the Immortal Lord was interested in.

While Lu Yin was seizing Immortal matter, Astral Anura was on his best behavior on the green stalk. His behavior was completely different from when Lu Yin had been present, as the toad was terrified that the Immortal Lord might finally settle accounts with him.

Only when Lu Yin returned did the toad finally breathe a sigh of relief.

“Do you really want Immortal matter that badly?” the Immortal Lord asked.

Lu Yin gave a soft grunt of acknowledgement. “No one ever feels like they have too much of it.”

“The amount of Immortal matter you have is not able to truly decide victory or defeat.”

“That only applies for beings like you who will never lack for Immortal matter. For me, Immortal matter remains extremely important.”

The Immortal Lord did not argue and continued on their journey.

Coming across a megaverse was something that could not be forced and could only happen by chance. As they continued on their way, they encountered nothing at all, until they finally saw a seven-colored land.

In the endless darkness, the seven colors were dazzling as they shimmered. It was exquisitely beautiful and irresistibly captivating.

Unlike ordinary civilizations that hid their megaverses, the Seven-Treasure Anuras almost seemed afraid that others would not know where they were.

And yet, the end result was the same. That seven-colored land was much smaller than a normal megaverse, and its radiance was only about as large as a megaverse. It did not attract any more foreigners than an ordinary megaverse would.

It was just that the radiance gave those who saw it an impression of extreme arrogance.

As soon as they saw that seven-colored land, Lu Yin and the other two stopped. While maintaining their distance, they offered bows to the distant land. “The human civilization’s Lu Yin requests an audience with the Seven-Treasure Anuras.”

The token flew from his hand and entered the seven-colored land.

At the center of the seven-colored land, a mountain rose up into the stars. Within that mountain, a pair of murky eyes slowly opened to peer into the distance. “Oh? Is it actually a human civilization?”

“Ancestor, a human civilization?”

“Yes. Humanity was once a powerful civilization that flourished at its peak, only to sadly wither since like fallen blossoms. It is no longer what it once was. I simply did not expect the civilization that we invited to be human. No wonder Obscura wants to eliminate them. Let them in.”

A massive Seven-Treasure Anura emerged from the seven-colored land. They looked like an enlarged version of Astral Anura as they made their way to Lu Yin and the others.

Still sitting on a branch of the green stalk, Astral Anura stared into the distance in a daze. The seven-colored land felt so familiar. It was a familiarity that came from his very bloodline. The lakes, the grasslands, the lotus leaves, Great-Grandma...

At that moment, the glow of the green stalk was completely overwhelmed by the seven-colored light. The Immortal Lord could sense a terrifying aura, one that came from the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ old monster. Only at this moment did the Immortal Lord understand what this species represented, as well as why their terms had been so irresistible for the humans.

The Immortal Lord had believed the Seven-Treasure Anuras to only be about as powerful as the human civilization, or at best, a tiny bit stronger. And yet, there was a terrifying monster that lay hidden within that seven-colored land.

The enormous Seven-Treasure Anura drew close, their eyes fixed on Astral Anura. The massive eyes were filled with affection and kindness.

“Little One, whose descendant are you?”

Astral Anura blinked as he stared up at the massive toad before him. He obediently shook his head. “I do not know.”

The enormous toad’s expression grew even more tender. “Come, let us return home.”

Astral Anura looked at the Seven-Treasure Anura before him and then at Lu Yin.

The enormous toad also turned to look at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin met the massive eyes as they looked over, feeling oddly amused. He was about to enter the toads’ ancestral home. Just how many toads would there be?

“Are you from a human civilization?” the massive Seven-Treasure Anura asked, their eyes locked onto Lu Yin.

He nodded. “I am Lu Yin, from the human civilization. Greetings, Senior.”

“I am Old Fifth. What about that one? Are they also from your human civilization?” Old Fifth asked while glancing at the green stalk.

Lu Yin did not answer the question, and instead asked his own, “Senior, were you the one who sent us the token?”

“That belongs to our ancestor.”

“In that case, I must trouble Senior to lead the way so that we may pay our respects to your ancestor.”

Old Fifth glanced at the green stalk again before looking back at Lu Yin, and then finally directing a gentle gaze upon Astral Anura. A smile appeared on the massive toad’s mouth. “Little One, come. Let’s go home.”

Astral Anura looked at the lotus leaf that Old Fifth had extended out. Almost subconsciously, the toad handed over his own lotus leaf before following Old Fifth towards the seven-colored land.

“Let’s go,” Lu Yin said.

The Immortal Lord warned, “There is an ancient monster there who causes even my heart to tremble. They are the most terrifying Immortal I have ever encountered. Do not provoke them, or else I will not be able to protect you.”

Lu Yin nodded. “We should be fine.”

Even as he spoke, the green stalk carried him along behind Old Fifth, and they entered the seven-colored land.

There were rainbow colored lakes and prismatic meadows. Even the air itself seemed stained with seven colors. It was a truly beautiful realm.

At the foot of the mountain that pierced the sky, there were countless lotus leaves. All kinds of beautiful yet unfamiliar creatures roamed the prairies. Together, they formed a unique ecosystem.

Astral Anura’s return caused many Seven-Treasure Anuras to step out to see him, which also allowed Lu Yin and the Immortal Lord to truly see the scope of the Seven-Treasure Anuras.

There were not many toads, and they came in all shapes and forms. They did not all look the same. Some were thin, and some were fat. Some wore strange clothes, while others were clearly old and basking in the sun.

When taken as a whole, the place looked a great deal like a human village: harmonious and peaceful.

As soon as Astral Anura arrived, several elderly toads led him away, likely to confirm his ancestry.

As that happened, Old Fifth led the Immortal Lord and Lu Yin to the mountain to meet the ancestor of the Seven-Treasure Anura.

The Immortal Lord could sense the presence of a terrifying creature, but Lu Yin could not feel anything at all. The gap between him and the Immortal Lord was not a small one.

The Immortal Lord was a truly powerful Immortal, able to match even Greater Sancte Green Lotus. That meant that, even if Greater Sancte Green Lotus had made the journey, he would not fare much better than Lu Yin when it came to facing off against the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ old monster.

This thought caused the pressure that Lu Yin felt to drastically increase.

As they made their way along, Seven-Treasure Anuras would occasionally leap down, plunging directly into the lakes, where they played with great joy.

As Lu Yin looked around, he felt that this entire place radiated a sense of comfort and freedom.

The Seven-Treasure Anuras were supposed to have terrible personalities, but what he saw was completely different from what he had imagined.

Bang!

Old Fifth suddenly leaped up, landing on the top of the mountain with a thud. With that, they hopped their way inside.
