Chapter 4125: The Activeness Megaverse

Chapter 4125: The Activeness Megaverse

Lu Yin was shaken. How is this even possible?

Greater Sancte Green Lotus also could not comprehend what they were seeing. Still, this was the nature of the Aevum Inch. If even creatures like Luo Chan could exist, then a megaverse where everything contained Activeness was not impossible.

“Take us to see it.”

“This megaverse should be worth my life, right?”

Greater Sancte Green Lotus stared intently at the creature for a long moment. “How many other creatures are aware of this megaverse?”

The creature’s eye flickered. “My brother.”

Greater Sancte Green Lotus showed a faint smile and then lashed out with karma, piercing through the creature. All the creature felt was some strange, unseen power passing through it, causing it to recoil in fright. Even so, there was no damage. What just happened?

Not every creature was capable of perceiving karma.

If no experts in a region had comprehended karma, then any creature beneath the Immortal realm would find the power completely incomprehensible.

The one-eyed creature had clearly never encountered the power of karma before, though unseen energies were nothing strange. After all, each Immortal had their own world.

The creature simply had no idea what was happening to it.

As for Greater Sancte Green Lotus, he was focused on the karma that had pierced the creature. He was using karma to search for a specific outcome, trying to find an answer regarding the metal shoes.

Karma could not be fully discerned from a single attempt.

The lotus leaf continued toward the gate. For half a month, Greater Sancte Green Lotus and Lu Yin took turns using karma. In the end, they confirmed that no one besides the creature was aware of the Activeness megaverse.

That made sense. Why would anyone ever let others learn about such a megaverse?

The claim of having a brother who knew about the megaverse had only been an attempt to make Lu Yin hesitate and be reluctant to kill the one-eyed creature

For half a month, the creature endured the torment of having its body being pierced over and over again by karma. Even if it did not suffer any injuries, the two bipedal creatures continued to act on it, and yet it did not even have the slightest idea what they were doing. It was maddening.

“So your brother knows the coordinates of that Activeness megaverse?”

The creature replied without hesitation, “Yes.”

It had already lied, which meant that it was better to make the lie convincing.

Lu Yin nodded. “Alright then, take us there.”

The creature shared the coordinates, which caused Greater Sancte Green Lotus to frown. “That distance will take us three years to traverse.”

Lu Yin was uncomfortable with that. “No, three years is too long.”

The one-eyed creature was bewildered. Three years... is too long? Too long for what?

It often spent hundreds or even thousands of years traveling across the Aevum Inch. When it needed to wait for buyers to verify the coordinates that he sold, it frequently took even longer. It was not unusual for it to wait for hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of years.

It would take it nearly an eternity to reach the Activeness megaverse, while this Immortal only needed to spend a mere three years.

And yet even that was too long?

“Senior, you can’t be away from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse for that long,” Lu Yin said. “Since that’s the case, why not allow Senior Ku Deng to accompany me? Human civilization will be able to rest easier with you present.”

Greater Sancte Green Lotus considered it. “That would be fine. The Immortal Lord and the others will not act for some time, as they are waiting for the Seven-Treasure Anuras to arrive. Still, it would be best to avoid taking risks. Ku Deng will accompany you. A six-year round trip means that you will not be absent for too long.”

Lu Yin nodded.

The green lotus leaf continued on its way back to the gate. In what felt like an instant, they were drawing close.

While traveling, Lu Yin had occasionally questioned the one-eyed creature about the Aevum Inch.

Even Greater Sancte Green Lotus had listened with interest.

They had also started calling the creature ‘One-Eye.’

One-Eye was familiar with the Aevum Inch, and yet it did not truly understand it. Still, it had once visited a Thread of Heaven and had found several different civilizations, so it did have some knowledge.

“The strongest civilization I’ve ever seen is the one that buys coordinates from us,” it said, “They have boasted to me that, no matter how powerful a civilization we find, we just need to give them the coordinates. How the megaverse is dealt with isn’t our concern.

“I once thought that I’d found an extremely powerful civilization. They even had Immortals, and yet I still sold the coordinates to that same buyer.

“A thousand years later, when I passed by the megaverse again, there was nothing but darkness. It had been reset.

“Selling coordinates within a Thread of Heaven? Of course not! Only amateurs would make such a mistake, and they usually end up dead.

“One does not simply enter a Thread of Heaven. Even if I knew where to find one, I wouldn’t visit it. Anyone who enters has a civilization backing them. While the civilization might not be a strong one, they will at least have an Immortal. If not, they simply risk exposing themselves, and that is much too dangerous.

“Of course, there are also those like me, who accidentally enter a Thread of Heaven, but everyone’s very cautious in those places. As long as you don’t reveal that your civilization doesn’t have an Immortal, you’re usually fine. What’s terrifying is stumbling upon a civilization that uses a Thread of Heaven to fish for other civilizations. Some say that there are even civilizations that build Threads of Heaven just to lure in more prey.

“The last time I wandered into one, I almost immediately fled from it.

“A fishing civilization? Maybe my buyer counts as one, but I’ve never seen any others. All who have are dead. If we can see them, they’ve undoubtedly seen us long before. We don’t dare to dream of running into one. Still, I suspect that the civilization that buys coordinates from us might be one...”

The lotus leaf passed through the gate, and the endless darkness of the Aevum Inch vanished. One-Eye looked around. Where is this?

It could see more humans everywhere it looked.

The green lotus leaf passed through the Arcanum Domain and the rest of the Spirit Nidus in an instant, returning to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.

The Mother Tree towered tall in the megaverse, and countless human cultivators roved about. One-Eye was shaken. This is a civilization, but aren’t they absurdly powerful?

When it saw the Greater Sancti Awe Gate and Ku Deng, One-Eye was consumed by an overwhelming sense of helplessness.

There were multiple other Immortals. Was it possible that it had been captured by a fishing civilization?

Three Immortals plus an Aberrant. By One-Eye’s understanding of things, that made the human civilization a fishing civilization. What else could be so powerful?

However, if they were a fishing civilization, why had they not destroyed the megaverse where One-Eye’s subordinates had found the two humans?

Aren’t fishing civilizations supposed to annihilate every megaverse that they find?

Shortly after returning, Lu Yin spread his Nirvana Tree Path again.

Those who were given motes of green light were the same ones who had previously gone to cultivate in the Mirari Realm. They were human civilization’s chosen elites, so naturally, they were given a priority when it came to receiving inheritances.

While Greater Sancte Green Lotus had taken Lu Yin to visit the two megaverses, many cultivators had left the Mirari Realm and started making their way back to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Once everyone gathered there, they had been waiting to learn the Nirvana Tree Path before returning to the Mirari Realm.

Far too few Nine Odysseys cultivators had received the true Nirvana Tree Path when Lu Yin had first shared it. However, anyone who was qualified to go train in the Mirari Realm was also qualified to inherit the Nirvana Tree Path.

This was precisely why Greater Sancte Green Lotus had spent so much time and effort to take Lu Yin to those two megaverses.

There was no question about the power of Immortals. The stronger their Immortals, the better they could defend their civilization. However, even then, it was necessary to improve the overall combat strength of their entire civilization.

Lu Yin walked a path that no one had trod before.

Before the appearance of Lu Yin, even Greater Sancte Green Lotus had believed that personal cultivation was what mattered most. Only by strengthening oneself could one protect humanity. The method of raising the combat strength of an entire civilization had never really been considered.

Lu Yin had merged with the will of the Tianyuan, and then, despite not being an Immortal himself, he had defeated two Immortal Verdant Sages. He had turned what had been regarded throughout the Aevum Inch as a joke into reality. In doing so, he had revealed an alternate path: growing along with one’s civilization.

If Lu Yin had not done so much for the Tianyuan, it could have never resonated with him so perfectly, and he would not have been able to merge with the megaverse’s will. During his last battle, while he might have been able to hold off one of the Immortal Verdant Sages without merging with the Tianyuan, he could have never held back both of them. If that had happened, the Tianyuan might no longer even exist.

One received only as much as one gave.

If nothing was gained, it only meant that one had not yet given enough.

It was the effort given without seeking a return that was most likely to be repaid, yet most people could not understand this.

And even those who did understand it might not live long enough to see that return.

It did not take long for Lu Yin to finish sharing the Nirvana Tree Path. One-Eye never saw any of it, as it was fully restrained by Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

Only after the inheritance had been disseminated did Ku Deng lead Lu Yin and One-Eye back through the gate and start traveling towards the Activeness megaverse.

Ku Deng could not move quite as fast as Greater Sancte Green Lotus, but the difference was not significant. Greater Sancte Green Lotus had never been known for his exceptional speed.

In the blink of an eye, three years had gone by.

Lu Yin and Ku Deng finally laid eyes on the so-called ‘Activeness megaverse’ that One-Eye had described.

It was small, very small. Throughout the Aevum Inch, Lu Yin had previously seen the Tianyuan, Nine Odysseys, Consciousness, and other megaverses. But in comparison, the Activeness megaverse was less than one tenth the size of the Consciousness Megaverse.

Such a tiny megaverse had a much lower chance of being discovered by a foreign megaverse.

What was strange was that there was no Mother Tree. Lu Yin had assumed that there would be one.

“Where’s the Mother Tree?” he asked One-Eye.

“There isn’t one.”

“How is that possible?”

“I don’t know, but this megaverse simply doesn’t have a Mother Tree.”

Lu Yin frowned. What a pity. No Mother Tree.

One-Eye said, “It is probably better this way. With how much Activeness exists in this megaverse, if there were a Mother Tree here, who knows what it would turn into.”

Ku Deng agreed. “With that level of energy, this megaverse might not even be able to support a Mother Tree. It might have been discovered by other civilizations long ago.”

Lu Yin sighed in reluctant agreement. That made sense. A Mother Tree already reached from sky to earth. With this much energy added to it, it would be far too conspicuous.

“Let’s go in.”

They quickly entered the megaverse.

The moment they did so, both Lu Yin and Ku Deng felt something strange. It was as if space itself was boiling. An indescribable energy was continuously flowing into their bodies. It felt... quite comfortable.

There was a starry sky above and land below. Wind moved through the sky, and even that was brimming with energy.

The mountains stood high from the ground, saturated with weight and steadiness.

Streams met, splashing against one another as though they were singing.

The entire megaverse gave off the impression of a fairytale.

Ku Deng let out a breath of amazement. “Everything has life. It’s as if there is already life budding in everything present. Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.”

Lu Yin raised his hand. The wind brushed across his palm, swirled around his hand once... and he casually caught it. He actually caught the wind. It was soft, cool, and very pleasant.

Lu Yin raised his hand. The wind brushed across his palm, circled once, and he casually caught it. He caught the wind. It was soft, cool, and very comfortable.

One-Eye watched on, feeling bitter. This megaverse had once belonged to it alone, only for someone else to now take it.

There were no powerful native creatures in this universe. It was filled with Activeness, all of which One-Eye had once been able to control with ease.

It had lost all of that.

For any civilization, the value of living weapons was immeasurable. If all the Activeness in this universe was taken back to the human civilization, every cultivator would be able to wield a living weapon. Their overall power would rise by at least twenty percent, and with time, continue to grow even further.

Such a pity. Such a pity.
