Chapter 3863: Get Your Ass Over Here

Chapter 3863: Get Your Ass Over Here

Most of the people on the mountain were unable to endure the accelerating force. They huddled inside the caves scattered across the mountain; each one had spirit treasure formations that kept its inhabitants from losing consciousness and ejected people when they needed to leave the mountain.

The Morrow Behemoth was strong enough to hurl the mountain all the way to the West Domain in one toss, but not everyone was headed there. Naturally, the skyswings would swing past the North Domain on its way to the West Domain, and some people were traveling to the North Domain and were planning to leave midway.

The spirit treasure formations in the caves automatically adjusted to each person’s selected destination, ejecting them a small distance away from their destination. The momentum of the skyswings would carry them the final distance.

The skyswings were not a free service. Everyone who used it needed to pay a fee that scaled with how far they were traveling. For this trip, the West Domain was the final stop.

At least tens of thousands of people would board the mountain for each trip, and at its most popular, there would be nearly a million people. Every time the skyswings were thrown, a massive amount of resources would be collected as fees.

Even someone as powerful as Lu Yin would have to spend a considerable amount of time to travel from the East Domain to the West Domain, but the skyswings could cover that distance in only half an hour.

As soon as the skyswings were launched, people were already shooting out of the caves, disappearing from the East Domain and entering the North Domain. The distance that the skyswings covered in only a moment could take years to cover on foot.

One after another, cultivators were launched out of their caves, streaking across the sky like meteors.

Lu Yin looked up. It was quite the unique sight.

He turned his head. The Mother Tree looked close enough to touch. When the skyswings were thrown, they swept by the Mother Tree, brushing right by the trunk.

The speed was truly incredible.

Hm? Are there people climbing the Mother Tree?

Lu Yin glanced back, but the climbers were already out of sight.

Their simple clothing reminded him of ordinary humans who eked out a living on cliffsides.

As he started considering what he had seen, someone started to walk down the mountain, approaching him with deliberate steps.

Lu Yin did not even turn his head. “I assumed that you would follow me all the way to the West Domain.”

A woman dressed in black was approaching him. She gave off an aloof air, but her face was reminiscent of a blossoming peach; her eyes were lively, though also deep. Her features were strikingly beautiful, and yet her aura was cold and dark.

Not every cultivator who traveled on the mountain needed to hide within a cave. There were always a few who were capable of withstanding the incredible acceleration.

“It’s been a while, Mr. Lu.”

Lu Yin finally turned to look at the woman. “Who are you?”

The woman smiled faintly at him. “Did you already know that I was here for you, Mr. Lu?”

Lu Yin replied, “You’re quite impressive. Ever since I entered the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, I’ve met very few people who surpass you. On top of that, when I arrived beneath the skyswings, you were the only person on this mountain who didn’t even glance at me.”

“That’s because you were also waiting for me.”

The woman gave a small chuckle. “I am Xing Fan.”

Lu Yin’s expression changed. It was unexpected for the woman to be Xing Fan. As one of the Lesser Sancti, she was someone who stood at the very pinnacle of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. She had once cooperated with Yue Ya to slaughter countless cultivators in several of the Spirit Nidus’s domains, tried to fish Lu Yin up from the Spirit Nidus, and also crafted the “灵” (Spirit) character that was used to harvest resources from the Spirit Nidus resources.

This was her.

No.

Lu Yin frowned. “You are not Xing Fan.”

“I am.”

“Then I’m quite disappointed.”

“Given Mr. Lu’s strength, anyone who is not yet an Immortal will surely disappoint you.”

Lu Yin said, “You are definitely not Xing Fan, though I am speaking to Xing Fan. This could be a clone, a body being possessed by manifested thought, or any variety of methods that accomplish the same thing.”

The woman gave a small smile. “That’s true. Tell me, Mr. Lu, what do you believe matters more: the body, or the thoughts that control it?”

“The body.”

“Why?”

Lu Yin slowly grinned. “Because then I could just kill you.”

The woman’s expression instantly chilled. “Are you truly that hostile towards me, Mr. Lu?”

“You forced Emperor Wu to his death, slaughtered countless cultivators across multiple domains, and tried to fish me out of the Spirit Nidus. Tell me, which of these things are not a reason for me to kill you?” Lu Yin retorted.

The woman coldly spat, “What happened to Emperor Wu has nothing to do with you—that was his deal with me. Those other cultivators have even less of a connection to you. They belonged to the Spirit Nidus, and to some degree, were all enemies to you. As for trying to fish you out of the Spirit Nidus, we’ve already paid a price for that. You turned the tables on us and tried to pull us down from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, which led to both Yue Ya and I being punished by Greater Sancte Blood Tower. That matter is already settled.”

Lu Yin calmly stated, “It’s only settled when I say it is.”

The woman’s eyes grew even colder. She stared at Lu Yin for a while and then finally loosened up a bit.

Above them, more and more cultivators were being shot out, flying across the sky like shooting stars.

The woman’s tone softened. “Mr. Lu, you came to the Nine Odysseys to protect the Tianyuan. If I help you with that, would you consider the past matter settled?”

Lu Yin replied blandly, “How do you plan to help me?”

The woman smiled. “No matter what, I am a Lesser Sancte and have some say in which megaverse will be reset. The Tianyuan, Consciousness, and Spirit Nidus megaverses: of these three lesser megaverses, the Spirit Nidus cannot be reset, which leaves us with the Consciousness and Tianyuan megaverses. I can ensure that it will be the Consciousness Megaverse that is reset.”

Lu Yin stared at the woman, but he said nothing.

“Are you not interested, Mr. Lu? Or do you simply not trust me?” the woman pressed.

Lu Yin blandly asked, “Your price?”

The woman’s eyes narrowed. “The Autumnspring Slip.”

“The Autumnspring Slip? You want the mirebound artifact?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“It’s a mirebound artifact. Who wouldn’t want it?”

“The price you’re paying is too high.”

The woman frowned. “Is it really? That’s not much compensation for a Lesser Sancte like me. This is a matter of resetting the Consciousness Megaverse, after all.”

Lu Yin sneered. “No, what I’m saying is, isn’t losing your life too high a price to pay for it?”

With that, he took action, reaching for the woman, startling her.

“Do you want to kill me, Lu Yin?”

“Why wouldn’t I?”

As Lu Yin’s palm slammed down, the woman’s body flickered. She was undergoing the Nine Heavens Transformation. As her aura spiked, she thrust a finger forward, her power gathering to form a needle at her fingertip: “Cosmic Needle Art!”

Lu Yin’s hand smashed into the Cosmic Needle Art, shattering it.

Before his breakthrough to the Origin realm, Lu Yin would have needed to use Infinity, Extremes Must Be Reversed, Wielder-realm battle force, and more to shatter a Cosmic Needle Art launched by a peak Dukkhan who had been strengthened by the Nine Heavens Transformation. However, after his breakthrough, his physical strength had risen to a level where none of those things were necessary any longer.

The woman’s pupils shrank. She stood her ground as Lu Yin’s hand descended towards her. Her heart moved, but her body did not. At that moment, everything in the surroundings froze: the skyswings, the mountain, people’s hearts, even their vision. A terrifying, indescribable force fell upon the skyswings.

To Lu Yin’s surprise, the woman raised her own hand.

Bang!

A thunderous boom rang out, and the woman staggered back multiple steps. Horror was etched on her face. Not even a Morrow Behemoth’s strength can match this man’s?

When the skyswings abruptly stopped, many of the cultivators on the mountain noticed it.

Lu Yin frowned. “The Nine Heavens Transformation and the Wayfinder Sutra? You certainly haven’t been idle.”

Xing Fan had just used the first realm of the Wayfinder Sutra: when the heart moves, the body does not. She had used the Wayfinder Sutra to pull upon the momentum of the skyswings as it was hurtling towards the West Domain. While Xing Fan had made it seem that the skyswings had stopped, in reality, they had continued moving. That contradictory phenomenon had condensed all that power into a single point.

Lu Yin had not met Xing Fan’s palm, but rather the force of the Morrow Behemoth. She had borrowed the entire force that the beast had used to throw the mountain, which ultimately led the skyswings to seemingly come to a stop.

However, Xing Fan was completely unable to see through Lu Yin’s strength. Let alone the Morrow Behemoth that had thrown the skyswings, even the ones that launched the Night Pillars out of the megaverse could no longer match Lu Yin’s physical strength.

Lu Yin shattered the Cosmic Needle Art with a single palm, crushing the force that Xing Fan had borrowed through the Wayfinder Sutra. She was badly shaken by being overpowered in this way. She, a dignified Lesser Sancte, was actually feeling suppressed.

“Lu Yin, there’s nothing between us that can’t be resolved! If the Spirit Nidus wants to get revenge, then let them come after me themselves. Why do you speak for them?” Xing Fan shouted angrily. “Do you no longer want to protect the Tianyuan?”

Lu Yin nodded. “You’re right—the Spirit Nidus’s blood debt is theirs to avenge, not mine. However, you tried to manipulate me, and that is my business.”

Xing Fan did not understand, prompting a sneer from Lu Yin. “You believe that you can dictate which megaverse is reset? Before entering the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, I thought that, as long as I became a Lesser Sancte myself, I would be able to protect the Tianyuan. However, I was wrong. Are you even aware that Yue Ya is dead?”

Xing Fan was stunned. Yue Ya... died?

She had not paid any attention to the man the moment that he had been exiled to the Fifth Night Pillar.

While the Azuresword Sovereign, Liu Li, Jian Hong, and others had sensed the battle between Lu Yin and Yue Ya, word of that clash had never spread. There was simply too much at stake.

For that reason, Xing Fan had remained ignorant of Yue Ya’s death.

Lu Yin shook his head. “You didn’t even know that Yue Ya is dead. Pathetic. When you die, no one will care either.”

As he spoke, he raised a hand and flicked a finger. Infinity swirled at his fingertip, though he still did not use Heaven’s Seal’s sequence particles.

Brute force tore through the void, headed straight for Xing Fan.

She once again used her Cosmic Needle Art, but at that moment, her movements froze, and her eyes lost all focus. She simply stood there as Lu Yin’s attack struck her.

Lu Yin lashed out five more times, each attack striking the woman. She was sent flying, her blood spraying across the sky.

“If you really want to talk, get your ass over here.”

Xing Fan’s body plummeted beneath the skyswings, and her vision blurred as she stared up at the sky. Pain assaulted her senses as she was swallowed by the shadow of death. Hatred consumed her. While this body was not her true body, it was one of the finest that belonged to her. It possessed a peak Dukkhan’s cultivation and had cultivated the Nine Heavens Transformation and the Wayfinder Sutra. Even if the body had acquired its cultivation through a Seed Transfusion, so long as Xing Fan was the one controlling it, the body was no weaker than any other peak Dukkhan.

She had not expected to be completely powerless against Lu Yin. She had not anticipated being completely crushed.𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Even the spirit seed within the body had been destroyed.

Hateful! Despicable! The man is far too arrogant.

She coughed up a mouthful of blood as she glared upwards, her eyes bloodshot. A radiant light appeared on her brow, like a mirror reflecting sunlight. Her body ignited, transforming into a beam of light that shot back up at the mountain and at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin turned to look down. Is she coming back?

His hand rose and waved.

The void split in two, along with the blazing beam. The sky shattered, and the ground broke apart. Very few beneath the Immortal realm could resist Lu Yin’s physical might.

Brute strength alone could shatter 10,000 techniques.

Right at that moment, the mountain trembled, and the skyswings suddenly started to fall.

Lu Yin looked up. This is bad!

The branch of the Mother Tree that the skyswings hung from was about to break. Earlier, Xing Fan had used the Wayfinder Sutra to borrow the power exerted by the Morrow Behemoth, essentially stealing the skyswings’ momentum and causing it to suddenly stop moving. However, the Mother Tree’s branch was unable to withstand such a sudden shift, and it was slowly snapping.

The skyswings and mountain both fell as a deafening crack rang out, hurtling toward the ground.

One by one, the cultivators exited their caves, only to be horrified by what they found.

A few had not been in any of the caves, and they had witnessed the battle between Xing Fan and Lu Yin. They were still shaken.

The mountain fell ever faster.
