Chapter 2134: The Descent of Three Generations (II)

The group glanced at Calamity after the man spoke. He was the only one who dared repeatedly voice the idea that someone was secretly accumulating spirit.

Calamity had been the closest to Skyward before, but became greatly dissatisfied with Skyward after Li Hao killed Calamity’s replica. Granted, Skyward did also give off the feeling that he was hiding something.

However, Skyward tilted his head in the relevant direction. That voice hadn’t sounded like Calamity’s.

Indeed, it hadn’t been the Calamity master who raised the latest concern. He was just looking on with a half smile. His reaction clued the rest in that he wasn’t the source of the comments. They turned in the appropriate direction as well, blinking with astonishment at what they saw.

So it was him!

“Life Death, are you talking to me?” Skyward looked at the speaker.

It was the dao master of life and death!

The aloof man looked back with a displeased expression. “I’m not speaking about Brother Skyward, you’re mistaken. The truth will come out in the end!”

He was very irritated as of late. Out of all the ninth ranks, he and Calamity were the most unlucky. Calamity had lost two replicas and Disorder had intercepted a chunk of his own dao. This kind of damage was far more than losing a replica. The cycle of reincarnation had almost shattered.

And last time... when so many ninth ranks stopped Disorder, they’d held back despite knowing who Disorder was gunning for. That was the key to the misfortunes of the dao master of life and death.

How he burned with bitterness! There was almost nothing he wanted more than to kill this bunch of bastards.

“The new chaos is about to return, your dao of death is inside it as well,” frowned Skyward. “You can retrieve it. After so many days, it’s probably been several thousand years within the new chaos, even if the flow of time is slower. It might’ve been even more!

“Your dao of death should be stronger than before. This will have been a great opportunity for you once you bring it back. What is there to be dissatisfied about?”

The dao master of life and death fell silent, finding nothing to pick at. What Skyward said was true. However, he still cautioned, “The dao of death was split out from my great dao. Everyone should steer clear of it!”

“You are the main cultivator of death, who would steal your dao?” chuckled Calamity. “It’s just... are we certain that our primary bodies can descend now? There’s a lot of us. If we all work together, we’ll be able to kill all of the powerhouses in the chaos en masse, to say nothing of Chaos Sky...”

It didn’t matter if they weren’t at peak strength. The only concern was that someone had other motives in mind!

If ninth ranks really did take orders and listen to instruction so docilely, they would not have become ninth ranks.

“Are we to be trapped here forever if we don’t descend?” someone laughed. “While we can’t recover peak strength, only when we return to the chaos do we stand a chance. Our spirit will not recover if we don’t!

“No matter what we want to do or stop in the chaos, it will be difficult to achieve. I’m a bit sick of living like this! I no longer hope to recover in the depths of the chaos anymore. C’mon, let’s go back together. It’s been a million years. Do we stand a chance of making it out of here alive if this continues?”

Each of the ninth ranks expressed their opinions. They were all deeply convinced that someone was siphoning spirit in secret and had possibly returned to full strength.

Of course, none of the ninth ranks were pushovers either. They looked piercingly at each other, reaching the unspoken agreement that whoever reappeared with peak condition would become a public enemy!

That person would be the first to go down!

The only way that this wasn’t an issue was if everyone recovered at the same time. Otherwise, they would mob even Skyward if he sought to recover first. If one of them wasn’t enough, then ten of them would do the deed!

Skyward was strong, but not strong enough to kill everyone. He would’ve done so long ago if he could. Why wait until today?

Skyward didn’t say anything since he was well aware of what people had in mind. He smiled without a word.

“Since we have all decided, then... let us descend!” Skyward said with relish. “One million years was an incredibly long and arduous period of time to us too. I forgot to say that today... is my two millionth birthday.”

Eyebrows raised in the group. Two million years old! Skyward was ancient beyond compare!

No one present was older than him. While there were some who were elderly, none of them was on par with Skyward.

How old was the chaos universe?

They didn’t know.

How long could a ninth rank live if they lived a normal life?

They didn’t know either.

Through Skyward, they learned today that two million years was a possibility, and even more.

“Congratulations!” laughed Calamity. “Who would’ve thought that a million years really would pass by in the blink of an eye. What a long period of time was... When we think back to life a million years ago...

“It didn’t seem that happy!” the man laughed again.

Skyward didn’t mind the dig. “It was just a small interlude, let’s go.”

“Do we need to set a guard at the origin of the chaos?”

“No, the origin itself possesses the ability to fight back. The chaos cannot be broken. Besides, who is willing to stay?” Skyward shook his head. No one was, not unless everyone stayed together.

Not to mention, the origin of the chaos wasn’t without defenses. Long Zhan taking a bite of it had startled it awake. Disorder wouldn’t have been repelled so firmly otherwise. He’d been a real ninth rank then!

“Then... let us be on our way! No, it is time for us to return home. The chaos was our territory to begin with!” someone laughed heartily. The chaos was theirs, they were just going home and not descending upon a new land.

Exalted emperors rose, summoning great daos in front of them. The great daos seemed to be tangible as they melded into bodies. Ninth rank presences flared with tyrannical dominance!

Skyward didn’t say anything either, he was the first to walk toward chaos dao and cross past it.

Chaos dao trembled!

Everyone’s great daos within their bodies began to shake. Spirit rapidly decreased on the premises. When they entered the chaos, they found it very muddled and turbid. There wasn’t enough spirit in the void. It was why they’d originally taken shelter in the depths of the chaos.

The entire universe seemed to split open in this moment. Tremendous presences appeared from the four regions.

Indeed, the ninth ranks had landed in the four regions.

One presence, two presences, three presences...

Presences fluctuated from all directions as endless dao strength and chaos strength were devoured. The entire chaos seemed to turn into a vacuum!

Countless exalted emperors trembled within the worlds of the four regions. Meanwhile, mundanes had no idea what was going on. They just knew that general fear and unease filled the air!

Some masters of major worlds looked in a certain direction. The seventh and eighth ranks that were still alive assessed the situation with complicated looks in their eyes.

The exalted emperors from a million years ago... had returned!

“Skyward, Life Death, Yin Yang, Five Elements, Light Dark, Calamity, Destiny, Prophecy, Decay, Shadow, Galeforce, Devour...” murmured some of the older exalted emperors.

These names had been legends when they were children. Although the ninth ranks had disappeared a million years ago, they’d left countless myths behind in the chaos.

And now, they were back.

Disorder had died, but a large number of ninth ranks were still alive.

Their presences flared commandingly as they consumed all of the chaos strength in the four regions in the blink of an eye. Their primary bodies were far stronger than their replicas. Each of them was the equivalent of Chaos Sky at the moment.

It was a far cry from when several dozen replicas couldn’t stand against one Disorder. They’d lost so many of their own then and even Long Zhan could kill some of them.

Their presences now threatened to overturn the entire chaos!

The four regions.

Calamity looked in one direction, at where Li Hao had been previously. He glared viciously and snorted, “I don’t know what the inside of the new chaos looks like, I just know that Li Hao may have the ability to take it back. Everyone, we are not far from his hiding spot. Is anyone willing to make this trip with me?”

He wanted to summon everyone together to prevent mishaps. And also, he didn’t want to be left in the dust. It was best if they all moved out together.

It wasn’t far, anyhow! They should kill Li Hao first before doing anything!

Neither Chaos Sky nor the Human King would be a match for them after Li Hao died. The issue of time would be a contest between ninth ranks in the end. That was the true battle between ninth ranks.

“The new chaos is about to fully materialize...” Skyward frowned.

“Brother Skyward, there’s a huge threat lurking in the shadows if Li Hao doesn’t die!” Calamity frowned as well. At the very least, he would not be at ease if Li Hao didn’t die.

He wouldn’t care if a powerhouse walked out of the new chaos, so long as Li Hao was dead. There were great limitations to the new chaos, after all. It could not produce a ninth rank. The strongest it could nurture was another Chaos Sky. That was of no concern.

But Li Hao... while the young man was a bit weak, he was simply too much of a threat.

The sound of flowing water suddenly rang through the chaos. It was like a river thundered through the void, breaking the firmament and crashing down as a waterfall.

In the distance, in the massive red world.

A door seemed to crack open. A river extended from behind it and seemed to freeze time wherever it touched.

Outside the new chaos.

Chaos Sky frowned slightly. Skyward’s replica looked around wildly as well. This was... time!

Illusory figures hovered over the river. Their leader wore clothes as white as snow and held no weapon in his hands. He grinned radiantly, seemingly as fond as smiling as Li Hao.

Powerful figures appeared behind him.

They respectively brimmed with the dao of death, responsibility, replica, and all sorts of great daos. There were even presences from monster spirits and chaos beasts.

It was like the entire universe had become their stage.

“So this is the chaos!” A soft sight and chuckle echoed through the surroundings.

If simply judging from external appearances, this was a genteel, cultured person. His gestures were refined and his appearance clean-cut. He seemed to be a very affable person.
