Chapter 2059: The Opportunity is at Hand (II)

  • Next Chapter

Li Hao set his jaw. I’d wanted to keep a low profile, but you can’t blame me since you guys aren’t coming after me. I’m going to absorb chaos strength from all over and leave some presence of disorder behind.

Although that’ll be a bit obvious and noticeable...

I’m a ninth rank! Isn’t it normal that I’m a bit more arrogant than usual?

Granted, it’ll give away more details about myself, but this is the only thing I can do since Five Elements Region isn’t playing along.

Li Hao promptly steered Skyflight toward the other eighth rank worlds. I’ll extract chaos strength from each of these guys! As the overlord of the north, Five Elements won’t be able to just sit idly by...

You guys can suffer!

......

Unrest soon developed in the north as multiple eighth rank worlds stirred uneasily over the next two days. A large sum of chaos strength was absorbed from the environment around their worlds. When powerhouses stepped out to address the disturbance, the perpetrator was already gone.

They didn’t leave anything behind, just some ripples that seemed... vaguely disorderly.

Alarm spread through the north.

Someone who could absorb so much chaos strength near eighth rank worlds and evade detection was clearly a premier powerhouse. This was an act of aggression toward the eighth ranks, but also immense intimidation!

If I can soundlessly appear around your world and absorb your ambient energy, then I can approach you anytime to kill you!

......

Five Elements major world.

Eight eighth ranks were gathered. Skymetal of Five Elements was extremely troubled.

“Isn’t he being too conspicuous?” he complained. “I know he’s strong and a ninth rank, but he’s just descended and has yet to recover to peak condition. I also know that he needs a lot of chaos strength to supplement with, but he can absolutely keep a lower profile or have us supply him with resources...”

Did the Disorder master have to proceed in this manner?

He was rampaging through the entire northern region and putting everyone on edge. And there was nothing they could say about it!

Not only that, but they had to follow after him and clean up his messes! They had to erase all of the energy of disorder that he blatantly left behind!

For fuck’s sake!

Skymetal didn’t understand the Disorder master at all. What do you want to do??

Frowns were also on the faces of Golden Sun and the rest.

“Can it be... that he has his own plan in mind?” ventured Flamefire. “He is centered around disorder. Is he creating all of this fear and confusion to grow stronger as quickly as possible? And he’s avoiding us because he’s worried we’ll restrict him in certain ways...

“Therefore, he’ll come to us once he recovers sufficient strength. Perhaps he was just saying hello last time and reminding us that there’s nothing to worry about with his actions...”

His words did make some sense, but Skymetal quickly raised another point.

“I’m not concerned about the unrest in the north now, but about the possibility of... spies from other people or factions in the north. We might have created more chances for ourselves if we’d stayed quiet, but now any of these people might discover the Disorder master’s actions and send that information to other factions.

“It might cause the other regions to join hands again! He’s a ninth rank, yes, but the current chaos cannot support the full strength of a ninth rank. That will make things more difficult!”

Skymetal nearly ground his teeth with annoyance. And why did you come to the north to raise a fuss? Do that elsewhere!

“Is he doing this on purpose to create his own system of disorder?” proposed Golden Sun. “He wants to create a base of operations in the north, so he has to stir things up first. He’s not meeting with us also because he’s worried about us stopping him from doing what he wants. Perhaps the fellow daoists might object to his course of action since... this is your territory at the end of the day.”

That made sense as well. It was the only way they could think!

“I hope this is the case,” intoned Skymetal. “I’m just concerned that the news getting out will impact the plan to come. This is seriously...”

Damned annoying!

What else could they do??

......

Chaos Sky Region.

Chaos Sky brooded over the reports he was receiving. Disorder was quite bold, huh?

Or does he know that I know he’s here, so he’s moving around with brazen impunity? Is ninth rank supposed to mean something?

You’re just a weakling among ninth ranks!

Not only that, but you’re not in peak condition either. You’re being so cocky, it’s like you’re afraid I don’t know you’ve come back!

Chaos Sky narrowed his eyes.

The shadow had already headed to the north and hadn’t sent back much information yet. What could be confirmed for the moment was that Disorder had reached the northern region. He was absorbing large quantities of chaos energy, likely to recover his strength.

Seriously... the weakest were always the most arrogant.

Skyward was that arrogant, but he fell flat on his face. He’ll be more humble next time. But look at you! You’re here with your primary body, so dead is really dead. How dare you be this conceited?!

Chaos Sky had wanted to wait for a while longer before heading over to secretly investigate Disorder. Now it appeared... that there was no need to do so!

You’re so full of it that you might reveal your true self soon.

“I’d like to see how much you’ve recovered!” snorted Chaos Sky as he vanished on the spot.

......

At the border of the northern region.

The Disorder master traveled leisurely toward the north. He made occasional stops to take in the sights. It’d been so long that the chaos had changed. The environment was the same, but everything else about it was different.

There was also a chaos beast serving as his ride. It was a massive bird instead of being a tiger. A ninth rank needed some dignified fanfare, after all.

He smiled when he detected an increasing concentration of elemental power. Disorder also raised an eyebrow and murmured, “That’s interesting. Did they prepare this for me ahead of time?”

There was a taste of disorder in the northern void, a slight sense of unrest!

Did they warm up the atmosphere for me ahead of time because they knew I was coming, so that it’d be easier for me to take up residence?

Life really is so much easier with help at the ready. It’s only been a few days as I’m traveling at a decent pace, but they’re already prepared!

Disorder smiled as he sensed the faint tendril of confusion in the void. How thoughtful of them!

This was just as well, it would save him some trouble.

The man’s smile slid off his face when a shadow flashed out of sight in the distance.

......

The shadow from Chaos Sky Region sped through the void, nearly suffering from heart palpitations. That had been too close! What a fucking coincidence!

That was Disorder and I nearly ran right into him! But what... is he doing here?

He’d just heard that the guy was on the other side of the northern region, absorbing energy. Ninth ranks were ninth ranks, alright. Disorder had traveled here in the blink of an eye!

The shadow’s face twitched. He was unable to stand against Disorder himself in the absence of the dao master. He could not go toe-to-toe against the other.

The Disorder master frowned from the rear. That had been... a very strong person! And slightly familiar as well.

Who was it?

How unlucky was he to come across a strong eighth rank right after entering the north!

He ran off so quickly, does he know me?

Disorder’s expression darkened. He’d hoped to keep a low profile for a while. The man dug in his heels and sent the bird off in pursuit of the shadow.

......

On another side.

Li Hao absorbed some more chaos strength and looked around. Next to him, Skyflight burped from a full stomach. Life was bliss!

It hadn’t dared draw near the major worlds before, but life had been so amazing lately. They’d gone from world to world to absorb energy and it’d all gone so smoothly. No one had paid attention.

There were several times when it thought that someone was about to catch up to them, but soon enough, they stopped chasing the two.

The tiger wanted nothing more than to spend everyday like this!

Life was so good this way!

Li Hao sunk into deep thought. How interesting. Someone’s erasing the power of disorder that I’m leaving behind, like they’re intentionally cleaning up after me. They’re not letting traces of my movement get out!

Who’s doing that?

It can only be... Five Elements in the north, but why?

Is it because they’ve realized who I am and that the arrival of the Disorder master is a good thing to them? Or has something else happened and they’re actually... allied with the Disorder master?

But I’ve seriously created quite a disturbance and made everyone uneasy in the northern region. Chaos Sky should’ve received word. Will he come?

The reaction from the north wasn’t what Li Hao had expected. But... this was just as good! It was safer and even more comfortable this way.

“Skyflight, are you interested in... eating more?” Li Hao smiled.

The tiger rolled around in the lap of happiness and quickly responded, “I go wherever the senior goes...”

I’ll go with you everywhere if life is like this! I’ve eaten more in the last couple of days than I have in several hundred years, and it’s all very pure energy. This is amazing!

“Let’s go to Five Elements for another round. There’s more energy there, and purer energy!”

“Um...”

“It’ll be fine, don’t worry!” Li Hao smiled. He was going to test Five Elements once more. If there still wasn’t a big reaction, then there might be some information that he wasn’t privy to. Perhaps Five Elements Region had some ties to Disorder.

They wouldn’t be reacting this way, otherwise.

I’m going to put them to the test!

He’d originally been doing this just to stir things up, but now things had become interesting.

......

Five Elements Region.

An immense devouring force suddenly appeared. The conflicted exalted emperors jerked their heads up.

“He’s here, isn’t he...” Skymetal said.

“He’s absorbing chaos strength from the surroundings!”

“Do we stop him?”

“What for? He’s probably still recovering...”

“He still refuses to meet us.” Skymetal raised a brow. “Is he concerned that we’ll do something to him? Or... is he just being extremely cautious?”
