Chapter 1931: Exalted Emperors Die (I)

This was an eighth rank tribulation, and one infinitely close to peak eighth rank. There were more than five thousand dao rules within it. Countless thunderbolts manifested as giants and dashed for the eighth ranks.

“Exciting, isn’t it?” The Human King threw his head back with laughter. “Reincarnation, the ones that you resurrected are condemned by the heavens as well. I don’t care what methods you used to avoid the chaos tribulations that should’ve come. You’ll weather them today with me!”

The Reincarnation master had employed unknown methods to hide the presences of those he brought back, in order to keep it under wraps that he’d revived several powerhouses. That’d helped them avoid the chaos tribulations.

But now that the Human King had brought himself back and taken himself to peak condition, the tribulation was here in full fury!

An ugly expression spread over the Reincarnation master’s face. Damn it!

He’d accounted for everything but the fact that the Human King could reverse yin and yang and bring himself back. He thought that the man couldn’t even wield yin and yang anymore, after he departed from New Martial. Even if he could, it would simply be a simple dao comprehension. He shouldn’t be able to reverse himself back to full eighth rank strength!

All of the eighth ranks had to grapple with the thunder tribulation now. Such was the source of the Human King’s confidence.

So what if he didn’t know the dao of life and death or time? He’d brought back countless people all the same back in the day. That was just a parlor trick! Those of New Martial were not afraid of death because they firmly believed that even if they died, the Human King would revive them even if he had to pay a hefty price.

Or they could become yin soldiers at the worst. What was the harm in that? If they lacked yang qi, then they would kill for yang qi and seize what they needed!

The sudden change of fortunes surprised even Li Hao, much less their opponents. He’d wanted to find an opportunity to reverse time for the Human King and bring the man back to peak condition.

So that hadn’t been needed at all.

The Human King himself could do the deed. This was entirely outside of Li Hao’s expectations. He’d thought that time might be the only dao to result in such an effect, or the dao of emptiness and revitalization...

Reality proved that he’d underestimated the Human King.

Li Hao smiled as well. Since the Human King could restore himself to peak condition, what was there to hesitate about? He’d been using just a bit of time before, wanting to leave most of it for the Human King. But now... that was no longer needed!

Resplendent light of time flared overhead, as well as the chaos tribulations!

The three eighth ranks were still in the dark, but quickly understood when their bodies halted slightly and their dao strength stuttered as the power of time touched them. However, their fear quickly faded away.

Trying to freeze three eighth ranks?

That’s not happening!

Li Hao overestimates himself and underestimates the power of eighth ranks!

The Earth Fissure master struck with a punch. It was as if the mountains had toppled and the earth fractured—the very chaos was collapsing. He snorted and forced Fog Mountain back with one blow. Earth energy erupted over him and shattered the power of time!

I am an eighth rank, as well as a world master and dao master! How can a little bit of time freeze me?

As reality proved, it could not. The power of time was not strong enough. It could handle seventh rank, but against eighth rank—and three of them—almost all three spontaneously shattered the power of time.

However, all three of their expressions slackened with dismay at the same time.

Earth Fissure’s eyes widened as soon as the thought registered and he roared, “Damn it!”

BOOM!

His massive current of dao strength had been incredibly stable, but was now caving in on itself.

This was bad!

Someone was attacking their world and dao universe. How could they??

Who was it?!

New Martial was at Reincarnation and the rest of the eighth ranks were either on their worlds or had joined the expedition against Thunder World. Not to mention, their worlds were near Reincarnation major world. Who dared attack them??

It was also classified that they’d ventured off world...

The three looked around with alarm.

If it wasn’t for this development, then Li Hao’s power of time would be insignificant to them. While it would be somewhat effective, it wouldn’t be that noticeable. But now...

Time froze their oscillating dao strength!

Delight blossomed in Li Hao’s eyes. This was his chance! The supreme really had gone to attack the worlds!

“Freeze!”

The power of time flared once more and froze the three eighth ranks for a heartbeat. Void roared with effort and brought down the world of emptiness upon them. Number Two unleashed its power of devouring on all sides, absorbing endless dao strength!

Drifting Life sent Yuan Shuo flying with a slap before sensing something unusual behind him. His jaw dropped when he turned back!

Massive changes had occurred in the two battlefields in a split second!

The Human King had returned to peak condition and chaos tribulations were upon Reincarnation. Dao strength was emanating from the three eighth ranks in Li Hao’s corner. It looked like someone had broken through their dao universes and worlds.

The development was recoiling onto them, thus leaving them vulnerable to the effects of time...

Of the eight eighth ranks, he was the only one whole and hearty at the moment. Only he had time and effort to spare to reinforce them!

Drifting Life immediately abandoned his efforts against Yuan Shuo and flashed through the air toward Li Hao. He didn’t pay attention to anything else. The three eighth ranks couldn’t be killed. If that happened, the tides would immediately be turned!

Everything had happened too quickly. They’d held the advantage in all pockets of the battlefield up until now!

“Stop!” shouted Drifting Life, even aiming his sound waves as an attack at the young man. He just needed to break the star of time to stymie the killing of three eighth ranks. All would be fine then, even with dao strength dissipating from the three.

The Reincarnation master fighting the chaos tribulation nearby also looked over with alarm. Damn it!

He hadn’t anticipated Earth Fissure and Sun Moon being ambushed. This had been the last thing on his mind. He’d conducted his affairs in a very clandestine fashion, quickly coming to a decision to join Chaos Sky. It was also highly classified that the two other worlds were part of Chaos Sky’s faction.

Almost no one had known that the three eighth ranks had left their worlds. Even Drifting Life had been unaware. Only the chaos beast eighth rank had been in the know.

How would someone attack two eighth rank dao universes that’d kept such a low profile? What part of his plans had gone wrong??

“Drifting Life!” roared the Reincarnation master. The exalted emperor who’d wilted in front of the Human King and thus dispatched to handle Li Hao was now suddenly their saving grace! So long as Drifting Life destroyed the star of life and the three eighth ranks remained alive, then it would be these interlopers who died.

“Break the star of time!” shouted the Reincarnation master. Who cares about Li Hao?? A seventh rank’s not going to change anything. We just need to break the star to defuse Li Hao’s ability to suppress the three eighth ranks!

Fog Mountain and the others also jerked to realization and struck with loud howls! They charged the three eighth ranks!

The three eighth ranks maintained lucidity, despite being suppressed by the power of time. The combination of being attacked inside and out made it difficult to free themselves. They would be able to strike back as soon as one side was relieved!

The three struggled desperately, leaking dao strength the entire time. They looked hopefully at Drifting Life.

Break the dao star!

The star of time hovering over Li Hao’s head didn’t seem all that strong. Everyone would have a chance so long as that dao star was broken!

Drifting Life naturally understood that, as did Li Hao!

As weak as Drifting Life might appear, their attempt to turn the tides might fail if he really attacked and broke the star of time. He had to be stopped, at all costs.

The eighth ranks on his side were all preoccupied with eighth ranks. The seventh ranks were either embroiled with wraiths or handling the three eighth ranks. None of them could be spared.

Stopping Drifting Life was of utmost importance!

Li Hao acted without any hesitation. A world within Number Two rippled—Great Li World!

It reappeared in the void without further ado.

“Stop that eighth rank!” Li Hao shouted.

A dao universe appeared—the Silver Moon dao universe. Gan Wuliang and the rest that’d been within Great Li World all this time materialized with blank looks, but there was no time for them to take stock of their surroundings.

Gan Wuliang immediately deployed dao strength and the river of dao combined with Hong Yitang. An immense strength converged on Panther. The three were one!

Panther howled as horns jutted out of its head, resembling the horns of the Monster Spirit Envoy. The chaos tribulations that Li Hao had lured over with the power of time and a portion of the thunder tribulation with the Human King gathered on the horns!

An immensely powerful thunder tribulation emanated from Panther’s head, blowing up the horns. A surge of thunder and lightning raced toward Drifting Life.

Li Hao hoped that these people could stop the eighth rank for a second. Eighth rank was very strong, but Panther, Gan Wuliang, and Hong Yitang were all peak sixth rank. The dao universe—twin dao universe at that, was also being employed. Panther was even utilizing the thunder tribulation.

The young man didn’t know if they would be able to successfully slow down Drifting Life, but this was an attempt they had to make!

A thunderbolt sizzled as it struck toward Drifting Life. The man ignored it. He summoned life and death with a roar and deflected it. Small fry like the ones that’d just appeared were the last thing on his mind at the moment.

Breaking the dao star was of utmost importance!

He could take care of the small fry anytime after he killed Li Hao.

Panther howled again, enlarging its body to make the other hesitate. As strong as the thunderbolt it’d sent had been, it would’ve injured Drifting Life at most even if the man took it head-on. It was too hard to kill Drifting Life. There was almost no hope of that.

And yet, Drifting Life passed straight through Panther’s towering body. The dog didn’t even make the man stumble.

A sixth rank stopping an eighth rank? How would that ever happen? So what if the sixth rank was on par with a seventh rank in this moment?

Panther, Gan Wuliang, and Hong Yitang only stopped Drifting Life for the barest hint of an eye blink, but the three eighth ranks were not yet dead. Just as Drifting Life drew near Li Hao, a large portion of wraiths suddenly raged out of control. A portion of them even exploded around Drifting Life!

Lin Hongyu’s hell was formidable, but it was instantly blown to bits. The dozen imperial death guards by her side disappeared, exploding in front of Drifting Life to stop the man.

All of their efforts were useless.

The self detonation of mid and low ranks or the explosion of wraiths proved nearly ineffectual in halting an eighth rank.
