Malrik froze.

The air in the room suddenly felt heavy, almost suffocating. His eyes remained fixed on the screen as he tried to make sense of the distorted text before him.

[Legacy of the █ █ █ █ █]

[Founder: ??][History: ??]

[Requirements: Bearer of a Legendary Death-Related Class]

His brow furrowed in deep confusion. "Why wasn’t this displayed with the other four?" he muttered.

Every other Legacy had a grand title, a detailed history of a legendary warlord, and a clear list of required Classes. But this one had forced its way onto the screen like a virus. No name. No founder. No history. Just an absolute void of information.

And then there was the requirement.

Bearer of a Legendary Death-Related Class.

Malrik stared at the word ’Legendary.’ In Valthera, Epic Classes were the absolute zenith, possessed by only the top one percent of Awakeners. Legendary Classes were practically a myth, considered entirely extinct for hundreds of years.

For any other person in this world, this requirement would be a cruel joke. An impossible barrier.

But for Malrik, it was something entirely different.

"The funny thing is," Malrik whispered, his eyes narrowing slightly, "I was already planning to evolve my Class to Legendary anyway."

With his SSS-Rank Talent, Infinite Evolution, he knew it was only a matter of time. Once he gathered enough evolution points or the right resources, he fully intended to shatter the world’s common sense and push his Class to the Legendary rank.

But that was exactly what bothered him.

A faint chill crept into his thoughts.

Why did this Tower appear now? Why does its requirement fit my future path so perfectly?

It was almost as if...It knows.

"It knows that I have the capability to reach the Legendary rank."

He took a step back, crossing his arms as his analytical mind went into overdrive.

He began connecting the dots, looking past the System interface and focusing on the bigger picture.

He thought back to Earth.

To that miserable life trapped inside a frail body that couldn’t contain even a trace of mana. To possessing an SSS-Rank Talent that he could never properly use. To dying with nothing but regret.

And then, he had simply opened his eyes in this new world.

"I am not in this body by coincidence," Malrik murmured, the pieces finally falling into place.

He had awakened inside the body of Malrik Vesperion—a body with an enormous, untapped mana pool. A perfect vessel for Infinite Evolution and mage class.

He had arrived just before the Awakening Ceremony, before the body had even begun its true path.

But there was still one question he couldn’t answer.

What had happened to the original Malrik’s soul? Where had it gone?

He had no idea. Even when he tried to remember what the original Malrik had done before he awakened in his body, he found that he simply couldn’t.

Remembering the original Malrik’s other memories was surprisingly easy. They came to him naturally, as clear as if they had always been his own.

But no matter how hard he tried, he could never find a single memory from before the moment he had taken over this body.

It was as if everything that had happened before that moment had been completely erased.

"I spent my entire life trapped in a body that couldn’t hold even the slightest trace of mana, living a miserable existence until the day I finally died... only to awaken in a perfect vessel with an enormous mana pool." Malrik’s eyes turned cold. "That doesn’t happen by chance."

Someone had orchestrated this.

An unseen hand had been moving the pieces all along.

Something—or someone—far beyond his current understanding had pulled him across dimensions, placed him inside the perfect vessel, and placed him in House Vesperion.

And now, this mysterious fifth Legacy Tower had appeared out of nowhere, offering a prize perfectly aligned with his hidden potential.

"Someone is helping me from the shadows," Malrik concluded, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "Someone incredibly powerful. And they definitely have a hand in this glitched Tower."

He had no idea who they were. He had no idea what they wanted from him.

But Malrik wasn’t about to reject an opportunity simply because he didn’t understand its origin.

If the requirement to enter the [Trial of the Worthy Successor] and claim this Legacy was to possess a Legendary Class, then there was no doubt that this Legacy Tower was not ordinary in the slightest.

Without another second of hesitation, Malrik reached out and pressed his finger against the glitched text.

BZZZT!

[1x Absolute Selection Right consumed.]

[The Legacy of the █ █ █ █ █ is now bound to your soul.]

[Notice: The Challenger may enter the Trial of the Worthy Successor once the requirements are met.]

Malrik nodded slowly. It was exactly as he expected. He would focus on gathering the evolution points needed to push his Class to the Legendary rank, and then—

Suddenly, the interface violently shuddered.

BZZZZT!

The golden light flickered rapidly, then changed to a harsh, static-filled crimson. A new set of notifications immediately appeared on the screen.

[System error detected...]

[Item Obtained: ??]

[?? has been deposited into the User’s Inventory.]

Malrik’s eyes widened in genuine shock.

"What?" he muttered, his mind freezing for a second. "What did I just get?"

He stared at the screen, completely bewildered. He had used his one and only Absolute Selection Right to choose the fifth Legacy.

He wasn’t supposed to receive an item right now. The System’s rules were clear—one choice, one reward.

"Why is it giving me something else?" Malrik’s eyes narrowed with deep suspicion. "Wasn’t I supposed to get only one thing? What the hell is going on?"

Without waiting another moment, he swiped his hand across the air, instantly closing the golden screen. He then opened his personal Inventory and accessed his storage space.

He reached into the dimensional void, his fingers brushing against something small and hard.

He pulled it out and opened his palm.

Resting in the center of his hand was a tiny object, no larger than the joint of a finger. It was divided perfectly down the middle into two

distinct colors.

Pitch black and pure, pristine white.

Malrik stared at it, his senses immediately overwhelmed by the bizarre aura radiating from the small object.

Frowning, Malrik focused his gaze and used the System’s appraisal function to inspect the mysterious item.

A small, translucent blue window popped up.

[Name: Bone of ???]

[Rank: ??]

Malrik stared at the floating text, his brow furrowing deeply.

"A bone?"
