Chapter 339: This Is their World!
Chapter 339: This Is their World!
And Points obtained by killing fellow recruits.
A faint wave of discomfort passed through parts of the audience.
Some people frowned slightly. But no one spoke.
Many in the crowd were civilians, people with non combat classes, people who had never stepped inside a dungeon.
Their moral frameworks were different.
More sheltered.
The same was true for those who had yet to awaken.
But this world was not Earth.
This world was harsh.
Dangerous.
Naivety did not survive long here.
Even Lily fell silent as she watched the explanation on the screen.
If this had been Earth, this movie likely would never have been shown to children.
But this wasn’t Earth.
In this world, children had to understand the dangers of reality sooner rather than later.
The scene transitioned.
Music surged.
The opening intro began.
Powerful rhythms filled the theater as flashes of different participants appeared on screen.
Jean Frost appeared first, surrounded by swirling frost as she stood poised with her weapon.
Claire Redwyn followed, the red-haired girl spinning through a blazing arc of fire magic.
Donn Chit flashed across the screen with brutal precision.
Aria, the small gravity girl, floated effortlessly above shattered stone, her expression calm and focused.
One by one the participants appeared in dramatic poses accompanied by bursts of music and sweeping camera angles.
Then.
Bruce appeared.
He stood calmly in the center of the frame, twin red daggers flashing through the air in a smooth, fluid strike that cut through invisible enemies with deadly elegance.
The shot was brief.
But striking.
Lily’s eyes lit up instantly.
Her fists clenched excitedly.
Her entire face practically sparkled.
“Big brother is so cool…” she whispered in awe.
Then Sophie appeared on screen.
Her arcane sword shimmered with radiant mana as she cut through a wave of enemies in a single graceful motion.
Lily gasped softly. “Look! Look!”
She leaned toward Sophie and whispered excitedly.
“You’re in the movie too, Aunty!”
Sophie smiled warmly.
“I noticed.”
Lucy watched quietly from the other side.
A soft smile rested on her face.
The entire theater seemed to lean forward slightly as the intro continued.
Excitement.
Curiosity.
Anticipation.
Everyone in the hall leaned forward slightly, eyes fixed on the enormous screen as the intro faded and the story truly began.
The first full scene burst into motion with the thunderous rhythm of battle.
Donn Chitt appeared on the screen.
The camera followed him from a low angle as he moved through a forest clearing, his large axe already resting against one shoulder. His muscular frame looked even more imposing on the massive display, every movement sharp and deliberate.
Then the beasts came.
A pack of Blood Hounds burst from the undergrowth, lean, vicious creatures with crimson stained fangs and glowing eyes. Their growls echoed through the theater’s sound system, making several people in the audience stiffen instinctively.
Donn didn’t hesitate.
With a fierce roar, he swung his axe.
The blade carved through the first Blood Hound with brutal force, sending the creature tumbling across the ground in a spray of dark blood.
Another lunged toward him.
The axe rose again.
And fell.
The impact echoed through the hall as the beast crumpled beneath the strike.
On screen, Donn looked unstoppable.
His fierce expression and confident stance were magnified by the cinematic angles. Each swing of his weapon was exaggerated with dramatic slow motion and thunderous sound effects that made every strike feel monumental.
To the audience watching, it looked incredible.
Several people murmured in awe.
“Wow…”
“He’s strong…”
A few children in nearby rows were practically leaning over their seats with excitement.
They didn’t know the hidden detail behind the trial.
They didn’t know that every participant’s strength had been temporarily standardized to the A-Rank threshold.
To them, what they were witnessing looked like pure overwhelming power.
In truth, an average A-Rank Awakened could exert between one thousand and five thousand tons of force, depending on their class specialization. Classes focused heavily on physical enhancement could even exceed that range under certain conditions, especially when supported by awakened skills and refined mana control.
But to the average citizen in the theater, the numbers didn’t matter.
All they saw was a man cleaving monsters apart with terrifying ease.
On screen, Donn planted his axe into the ground beside him and cracked his neck confidently.
“The number one spot is mine,” he declared with a fierce grin. “None of these weaklings can compare to my strength.”
He lifted the axe again, pointing it toward the forest.
“I’ll slaughter every beast in this trial and take the top rank!”
The declaration echoed boldly across the theater speakers.
Several of the younger viewers immediately reacted.
“That guy’s awesome!”
“He’s definitely going to win!”
Many of the children in the audience were already cheering quietly for him.
Even some of the more morally idealistic viewers found themselves supporting him silently. After all, Donn hadn’t said anything about killing fellow Awakeneds to gain points.
To them, he appeared almost heroic.
A warrior focused solely on defeating monsters.
In their eyes.
He looked like the noble one among the competitors.
But the scene didn’t linger long.
Donn had barely finished clearing the first group of Blood Hounds when his expression suddenly changed.
His confident grin faded.
The camera shifted slightly, zooming in on his face.
Then.
His eyes narrowed.
The forest around him had grown quiet.
Too quiet.
He slowly turned his head, scanning the surrounding trees.
“I sense… multiple auras.”
The tone of his voice had changed.
His grip tightened around the axe.
“A bunch of A-Rank Blood Hounds?”
His deep voice carried a rough edge.
It was hard to tell whether the emotion behind it was excitement or concern.
He stared into the forest shadows for a moment longer.
Then he clicked his tongue.
“Hmph. No need to waste my mana right now.”
He lifted the axe back onto his shoulder and turned.
And then.
He ran.
Without hesitation.
Without pride getting in the way.
He burst into the forest at full speed, disappearing between the trees as he deliberately changed direction several times in an attempt to shake the beasts tracking him.
A few surprised murmurs rippled through the theater audience.
The scene shifted again.x
