Chapter 537 - 537: Not going easy

The monster walked toward her, but did not rush, as if knowing that there was nothing that she could do.

Dawn gritted her teeth, which were painted red with blood, and then she pushed herself to her feet. She let out a smile, wide and filled with excitement.

"Is that all you've got? You better come at me with more if you want to win," she declared and then swung her sword. The flames surged higher and burned hotter. "Because I'm not going down easy!" She thundered and then launched forward.

Her feet exploded with flames as she crossed the distance, moving faster than she had moved all through this fight. She went with a diagonal slash, but the monster pulled back and evaded the attack. Dawn grinned. She redirected the flow of her flames and forced them to jet forward from the flames and push her sword in the opposite direction.

"Arghhhhhhhhhh!" Dawn roared. Her blade dug into the exoskeleton of the monster and dug very deep. Dark liquid spilled out, and the monster staggered.

It retreated a few more steps and looked at the injury in its chest. It was considered to be extremely fast, and in that moment, it was not able to dodge her second attack.

"Why the hell are you stunned? This fight is still going on!" Dawn closed the gap between them and thrust her blade. The flames on it surged higher. The monster crossed its arms and blocked the attack. It was pushed back by the force and skidded back a few meters.

When it stopped, it launched forward immediately, unleashing a very quick barrage of attacks on Dawn, each one a powerful swing that came down faster than the last, and she was forced to block each one.

A slash appeared on her shoulder, another on her side, and another on her thighs. She gritted her teeth as the pain gathered more and more.

'I can't defeat it when it comes to speed. Even if I use my flames in an explosive way, my speed is still a step below his own. I don't have the time to adapt, nor do I have the mana that is needed to use my flames only for speed.'

As she blocked, she tried to figure out what was the best way for her to get out of this predicament.

"Tch, if I can't defeat you with speed, I'll overpower you!" She roared, and her flames suddenly surged higher. It got so hot that the monster was forced to take a step back, and that was all that she needed. She pulled her leg back, planted it into the ground, and swung with all her might. A massive wave of flames rushed out and slammed into the monster.

BOOM

It was hurled back like a sack of potatoes. It slammed into the ground and rolled till it came to a stop, and when it looked up, it saw Dawn in the air, burning bright like the sun and swinging down with all her might toward its chest.

The monster scurried, getting up and moving away as fast as it could. The sword slammed into the ground below, and a massive explosion followed, with rock and debris flying in every direction.

The monster landed on the ground and skidded through the dirt. It looked up and already saw Dawn headed for it. Pissed off, it stopped itself and unleashed a barrage of attacks, each one slashing through the air.

Dawn dodged a few even as she could not see it. Another slashed into her shoulder, and blood gushed out, but she did not stop. She pulled her arm back and hurled the sword through the air. It stabbed right into the chest of the monster.

She did not stop there, as she snapped her finger and a massive explosion of flames ripped through the chest of the monster. It sounded like thunder, and the monster was hurled back. It rolled through the ground, a steaming hot mess.

Dawn stood, a smile on her face even as she was breathing heavily. The fight was taking a toll, but she was not giving up, nor was she going to lose. She had made up her mind about it.

The monster slowly got back up, a massive hole in its chest. The sword fell out of the hole, and it staggered from side to side, looking at her with eyes that wanted to kill and destroy.

"Hahahaha, you are still standing even after taking that? You are indeed something else, but I'll not be taking it easy even if you are on the brink of death." She roared and charged ahead, her fist lit on fire.

The monster got ready to take her on, and when she got into range, it flashed for her head. She weaved and evaded it by an inch before stepping in and delivering a clean punch to its face.

After taking that injury, it could no longer move as fast as it normally would, and she was making use of that to the best of her ability. She dodged the second slash and delivered another attack. Her punches rained down, coated with flames, until the body of the monster could no longer withstand it and was forced to take the barrage of attacks that was rained on it.

Its body started to fall apart as she went on. It reached the end of its line, and when it saw that, it gave its last effort and suddenly burst forward and attacked her. She dodged the first, and the second entered right into her side. Blood gushed out.

"A final fight? Haha, you gave it your all," she said and then delivered another punch to its face. It shattered the exoskeleton, and it collapsed to the ground, still alive and still trying to move.

"Thank you for the good fight," Dawn said and then swung down with an explosive fist, shattering the head fully and killing it right there.
