SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy
Chapter 523 - 523: Why I told you
The air was heavy after he said that. No one spoke at all, as if they were processing what they had heard just now. Silva sat down and looked at all of them. He could tell that a lot was going through the minds of each one. The issue was that he did not know exactly what they were thinking.
Lia was the first to make a move. She rose to her feet while looking right at Silva. Her eyes carried no emotion, but it was clear that she had a lot to say. She placed both her hands on the table.
"Brother Silva," she started, "you are saying that ever since you were born, you had the mind of someone grown? Someone that could understand what was happening?" She asked, looking at him and waiting for a response. She wanted to know what had happened. She wanted to know all the details.
"Yes, I had the mind of a grown-up. I remember vividly the day of my birth. I recall how my real father had looked down at me with a lack of potential and had hurled me off at night.
I recall the maid that carried me that night, and I recall how she handed me to Mum," Silva said.
Lia heard all of that, and she tightened her grip. Her body trembled slightly. "So, everything that happened right from when we were kids, you understood it? You knew what was happening? You were not a kid, but rather, you were acting as a kid."
"Yes, I had to ensure that I did not show too much. I was already showing a lot. I was talented and powerful at such a young age. Even that was something otherworldly. It would have been outrageous to have even shown more.
I was scared of what would happen to me if I showed myself to people and allowed them to see what I am."
She gritted her teeth when she heard his explanation, and her entire body was shaking at this point.
'She is not taking this well. I can't blame her. I lied to her for so many years, even as she trusted me deeply.
I'm sorry, Lia. I wished I had trusted myself enough earlier to tell you the truth and not held back all that I should have told you long ago. Now everything is a bit late, and it feels wrong.'
"We lived together for so long, brother. We lived together for all our lives, and I trusted you with my life. I believed every word that came out of your mouth.
I never doubted you because I believed you would never lie to me, not knowing that for the last decade and more, you have lied right to my face every single day, over and over and over." Her voice got louder. Everyone watched and did not utter a word because it was her time to speak, and they did not want to take that from her.
She stared right at Silva, as if trying to stare into his very soul in that moment.
"Did it ever come across your mind to tell me? Did it ever bother you that you kept such a thing from me?" She asked in anger, waiting for his response.
"Lia," Silva called her name and looked at her. He pressed his hands on the table and got to his feet. He bowed his head until it touched the table, and everyone gasped in shock when they saw this.
"You are my sister and one of the dearest persons to me. I am sorry that I kept a lie from you for so long.
I was worried and scared. A lot of things were happening all at the same time, and I was not sure what was to be done.
I wondered if I would be attacked by Order or something else if I tried to tell you the truth.
No, I'll not use that excuse or any other excuse. I'm simply sorry, and I pray that you will somehow be able to forgive me for what I did," Silva begged.
Lia looked at him with eyes burning red with anger and sadness. She drew a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She sat back down on her chair and folded her arms.
"You'll have to do a lot more to make it up to me. Words will not be enough," she said with a pout.
Silva smiled, knowing that she had calmed down.
He looked at everyone again and then spoke. "I know all of you really have mixed feelings about what had happened and are really unsure of how to say it now.
I am unsure of even how to answer it all, but whenever you can or want, ask me, and I'll tell you the truth," he said. He then drew a deep breath. He looked at his mothers and saw that they were still out of it after hearing what he had said, but sadly, he did not have the time to comfort them now. He would do that later.
"The reason I decided to tell you all this and risk my relationship with all of you right here is something else.
Order has an issue. The Abyss is trying to get into the universe. That rift you saw in the sky is appearing everywhere all around the universe, and it is trying to allow Abyss monsters of grand magnitude to walk into the universe and cause disasters.
There is no easy way to stop it, from the way that it seems, and as such, Order has done something to handle it. He has created the empire.
The empire is the new system ruled by Order, and it is to ensure that he controls things better so that he can fight and defeat the Abyss.
The process of creating the empire has started and will continue until he has a proper empire that he can use to fight against the Abyss and stop it from destroying everything.
