Chapter 504 - 504: Back Home

Silva listened to what he said, he fell into thought. It had been a while since he revisited the goal that he had set all that time ago.

'Am I still hungry for freedom? Yes, yes I definitely am, that's the goal and will forever be the goal.'

He snapped out of his thoughts and focused on the abyss around.

"Why are no abyss monsters attacking us?" He suddenly asked Ophelia.

She looked at him and then proceeded to explain.

"We are in a tunnel." She started, pointing to the edge of the walls that they were in.

"The device created a tunnel in the abyss to ensure that we can pass through without issues. It can be breached by a strong force, but it's unlikely to happen." She explained.

"Unlikely means there is a chance," Lily said.

"Yes, there is a chance," Ophelia replied.

"I think we are all overlooking an important question here." Dawn pointed out. She had not spoken in a while and she finally decided to.

"Yeah, where did you get the device from? Or did you somehow make it yourself? A device to move through the abyss?" Silva asked.

"Sigh, I know you still have your doubts towards me. But what we faced in the past is what has brought us to where we are, Silva. Let's leave the past to be what it was and focus on what is ahead.

"As for the device, the creator asked that I keep this a secret from you for now. He stated that specifically." She said.

"I see, well regardless of who made it, I am glad that we got it." Silva said.

"So this talk of an empire, do you know what it is about?" Silva asked.

"The empire. Sigh, I wish it was something that I could tell you that you will not be involved in and you could simply look away, but you can't.

"The empire is Order creating a system to combat what has come to stay, the abyss." She said and then proceeded to look at him. "As a black dragon, you are the only being that has proper connection to the abyss, you and Elena.

"To others, the abyss is the end of the world for them. It brings beings beyond comprehension that come to consume our universe. Order wants to stop that and so has resorted to take away the previous autonomy of the universe and rather turn it into an empire.

"The empire becomes far more strict and everyone that has some sort of power is going to be forced into an army setting where we come together and battle the abyss.

"That's the plan that he has set in motion." She explained and then turned to look at Silva.

"And the greatest enemy to this plan is the dark dragon."

When she said that everyone paused. They waited for her to explain.

"It is known that the dark dragon is the only being that had access to the abyss, and if he chooses to work alongside the abyss, it could spell disaster.

"You, Silva, can be the end of us all, the being that unravels everything." She explained.

"Yeah, I do not have time for that shit. I am not throwing my soul away to the abyss, it's a tool for me to get stronger and that's it." Silva explained.

"Yes, I know that personally, but others do not and they will not want to listen, nor will they want to play along. They will come for you the very moment they know what you are."

"So you are telling me to keep a low profile and hide from them?" Silva asked.

"Yes, basically."

"No," Silva refused. She looked at him in confusion.

"Sorry, I'll not be put down by no one or bend to their stupid laws and rules. I am Silva Terron and I am a dark dragon. I'll not allow anyone else sit on me. If I did not bend to Order, what makes you think I'll bend to them?

"I'll act how I want. I will not go out shouting that I am a dark dragon, but I sure as hell will not say I am not. And if anyone has a problem with that, they can come at me. God, primordial, whatever wants to come can come."

Ophelia heard what he said, she heaved a sigh and turned back to face the way they were heading.

"I expected this, to be honest. Well, whatever you do, just ensure you do it well and to the best of your ability, grow faster." She paused for a bit. "The empire might just be your second challenge and your greatest one yet."

After a while, they finally broke out of the other side of the rift, and the moment they came down, the rift shut closed.

Ophelia pointed to the rift in the sky.

"That's the issue, and if you can see, an awakened abyss monster has stepped on the planet. It's been minutes, but the disaster has been great. I'm not sure how many lives have been lost, but the number keeps growing. You are going to have to do something." She explained.

Silva frowned when he saw the situation, he gritted his teeth in anger. "Drake, Lily, Dawn, your task when we get down is to evacuate and descalate as much as possible, help who can be helped."

"What about me?" Aris asked.

"You can do what you want, I have no control over you, but I would love your help."

"Then I'll help." Aris replied, and Silva nodded in thanks.

He proceeded to hand Snow over to Ophelia.

"Take care of her for a bit."

After he handed her to Ophelia, he transformed into his full form and they all got on. He flapped his wings and shot down toward the planet extremely fast.

The giant awakened abyss monster noticed their entry and began turning to face Silva in the air. Their eyes met.
