Chapter 329 impending war
After the good, Silva decided that it would be best if they got their Adventurer’s identity as soon as possible. He wanted them to go adventuring for a few days and rise their rankings up.
But they still had Lena lying down in one of the rooms. They couldn’t just let her stay like that; they had kept her unconscious for so long.
Silva and Aaron headed upstairs. He walked into the room where Lena was. He looked at her on the bed. “I might have to transport her back to the kingdom.”
“The Guardians shouldn’t have left yet. Let me talk to Lily,” Silva said. Since the Guardians were not doing the whole full journey thing that Silva and the others were doing, they didn’t need to leave the kingdom just yet. Maybe they would in a few days and teleport right to the empire.
Even Silva was beginning to think of cutting some corners in this journey they were on. The whole distance and wasting time were starting to stress him out. He just wanted to get this over with already.
If he closed the case of the demon blood, he would have made the next step to completing the task by Ophelia.
“Lily, it’s Silva.” Silva contacted her and spoke to her.
“It’s been a while since I heard from you. It’s nice to finally hear your voice,” Lily responded.
“I know, Lily. I’ll talk to you more later, but I need your help now. There is someone with me here that I need you to take into holding at the castle.
Do you think it’s possible for you to get to me and actually take her in? I’d appreciate it if you could,” Silva said and waited for her to reply.
“Well, right now, we are already at the empire, Silva,” Lily said, and that shocked Silva.
“Wait, what? I thought you guys would wait a bit before you head into the empire. Why are you all there already?”
“Because we didn’t have anything to wait for in the castle. We figured we would come and build a network quietly while we waited for you guys to arrive.
I do have to tell you, though, you better rush. Make it here in two weeks tops, or everything might have just been for nothing.
We managed to gather some information that is really off-putting. The first one is about the Dark Dragon Kingdom.
The empire has come to the conclusion that they will no longer welcome you in their lands, and they have gained the support of the Holy Kingdom and the Holy Pope.
So in a few months, a war will move in our direction. And that’s not all—the demon blood that we are here to research, well, there is a rumor that they will mass-produce it for soldiers before the war against us starts,” Lily said.
“What the hell? Why is everything suddenly speeding up?” Silva asked in shock.
“Wait, the Holy Kingdom is against anything demon-related. There is no way they will endorse the war if they knew that the empire’s soldiers would be using the demon blood.
Could it be that the empire is somehow hiding it from them? Either way, this is bad, Lily. Could this be the vision you had?” Silva asked.
“I can’t say for certain, but what I do know is that the war is inevitable, so we will have to prepare for it,” she said.
“I see. I still need your help then. Come here and take this lady to the castle and lock her up. I might actually have to pull you out of the mission with Drake so that you can focus on her.
She is a human that works for some sort of empire organization that had knowledge that I was coming—somehow—and so she was sent to manipulate and gather information from us.
But I found out later, and this turned into a fight, where I defeated her. But then she took the demon blood she had with her, and it was unlike anything we had seen so far.
She wasn’t some grotesque-looking demon monster like the others. She was genuinely a well-built demon. The kicker was the fact that she still had control over herself. Sure, as a demon, her rage increased, but she was still the one in charge. Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire
And her power increase was astronomical. She grew from a strength of a hundred thousand to that of millions.
The only other thing we have come in contact with that had the capability to do that is the damaged demon sword that we got off that king back then.
The last part is that she transformed back to normal after she passed out. This is the first time that I have seen anyone transform back after taking the blood.
So what I’m saying is that they are getting close to something really good. I don’t know what the empire plans to do with the blood once they perfect it, but it can’t be good,” Silva explained everything.
“I understand, Silva. But rather than take her back to the kingdom, I’ll keep her here with me and run tests on her, get to see what’s inside her bloodstream and how the demon blood affected her,” Lily said.
“Alright then, whichever works for you,” Silva said, and a few seconds later, a portal opened, and Lily walked out. She looked at the girl on the bed, guessing that was her already.
“I have a question, Lily,” Aaron spoke. “How did you make a portal here? You have never been here.”
“I have a connection with Silva, so I can use that to know his location and spawn a portal here. Sorry, I can’t stay long for more chit-chat,” she said and walked to the bed. She picked Lena up from the bed.
“I’ll be hoping to see you in the empire soon,” she said and made another portal, walking in, leaving Aaron and Silva.
“I guess that’s solved now. What do we do now?” Aaron asked.
“We move faster,” Silva replied.
