Kael reached into his Inventory and pulled out the long box Zoey had given him earlier.

The box had been carefully wrapped in a layer of dark cloth. He set it on the table and slowly unwrapped the fabric, revealing a long, dark-colored box underneath.

It was rather plain, with no noticeable decorations or markings, yet its construction felt surprisingly sturdy. Kael ran his fingers along its surface before giving it a few light taps.

Knock. Knock.

"Quite solid."

He wasn’t sure what material had been used to make it, but it certainly wasn’t ordinary wood.

After examining it for another moment, Kael reached for the lid and carefully opened the box. What greeted him was something far more straightforward.

A sword.

More specifically, a katana.

The weapon rested neatly within the box, its gently curved blade displaying a polished steel edge that reflected the light falling upon it. The blade was fitted to a long tsuka wrapped in dark braided cord, giving the entire weapon a simple but elegant appearance.

There were no excessive decorations or flashy ornaments.

At first glance, it looked like a beautifully crafted katana, but nothing about its appearance immediately suggested that it was some extraordinary treasure.

Kael studied it for a moment before furrowing his brows.

"A sword, huh?"

He wasn’t particularly surprised by the choice of gift. If anything, it was exactly the sort of thing he should have expected from the Sword Saint.

Still, he was curious about its actual value.

"Eye of Judgment."

The moment he activated his skill, information about the weapon immediately appeared before his eyes.

---

[Sword of the Unbroken Will]

Rank: —

Requirements:

- A Strong Will

- Unwavering Conviction

Abilities:

•—Unbreakable Resolve—•

Passive

The blade mirrors the will of its wielder.

So long as the wielder’s will does not break, the sword cannot break.

Immune to shattering, corrosion, and durability loss.

Cannot be destroyed, sundered, or dulled by any force, skill, or law.

---

•—Legacy of the Fallen Blades—•

Passive

Records the sword styles of every wielder who has carried the blade.

Through continued use, these recorded styles are gradually passed on to the current wielder.

Techniques, stances, and combat instincts are absorbed into the wielder over time.

The longer the sword is wielded, the deeper the inheritance.

Upon the wielder’s passing, their own sword style is recorded into the blade for the next.

---

Kael stared at the information floating before him. For several seconds, he said nothing, but then his eyebrows slowly rose.

"Wow..."

He looked down at the katana again. "This is quite a good sword."

Actually, calling it a good sword might have been an understatement.

The first ability alone was already impressive enough.

A sword that could not be destroyed as long as its wielder’s will remained unbroken?

That was an absurd property for a weapon to possess.

Ordinary weapons, no matter how powerful, still had limits to their durability. Even high-ranking magical equipment could eventually be damaged or destroyed when subjected to enough force.

But according to the description, this sword was different.

It wasn’t merely resistant to damage.

It was completely immune to shattering, corrosion, and durability loss. More importantly, it couldn’t be destroyed or dulled by any force, skill, or law, provided its wielder’s will remained intact.

Of course, that condition was worth paying attention to.

The blade’s durability was directly connected to the will of whoever wielded it, which meant its effectiveness ultimately depended on the person holding it.

Still, Kael didn’t consider that much of a drawback.

At least, not for himself.

And then there was the second ability.

Legacy of the Fallen Blades.

Kael read through its description once more, his interest growing.

Unlike the first ability, which focused entirely on the weapon’s durability, this one was meant to help its wielder grow.

The sword could record the sword styles of everyone who had wielded it throughout its existence.

And through continued use, those accumulated techniques, stances, and combat instincts would gradually be passed on to its current owner.

In other words, the longer someone used this weapon, the more they could learn from the swordsmen who had carried it before them.

That was an incredible advantage.

After all, swordsmanship wasn’t something that could be mastered simply by memorizing a few techniques.

It required experience, understanding, and countless hours of practice.

Even if someone possessed an exceptional talent for the sword, they would still need time to develop their skills.

But with this weapon, a wielder could gradually inherit the accumulated knowledge and instincts of previous swordsmen.

And the more time they spent using it, the deeper that inheritance would become.

Kael couldn’t help grinning.

"That old fogey..."

He shook his head in amusement.

Now he understood why the Sword Saint had chosen this particular gift.

The old man had never been particularly supportive of the path Kael wanted to follow.

From the beginning, Kael had made it clear that he intended to develop his body into a weapon capable of adapting to different forms of combat.

Rather than limiting himself to a single weapon, he wanted to become proficient in multiple fighting styles and use whatever approach was most effective for a given situation.

However, the Sword Saint had always disagreed with that decision.

In his opinion, someone with Kael’s talent would be better off dedicating himself to mastering a single weapon.

And naturally, considering who he was, that weapon could only be the sword.

To the Sword Saint, allowing someone with Kael’s potential to pursue any other path was probably nothing short of a waste.

Kael could still remember how the old man had repeatedly tried to convince him to focus on swordsmanship, and now, apparently, he was still at it.

So this is your way of tempting me, huh?

Kael chuckled.

He had to admit that the old man’s choice was quite clever.

After all, a sword like this would be difficult for anyone to ignore.

Even someone who had never seriously considered practicing swordsmanship would probably be tempted after learning about its abilities.

And for a Hunter who had already spent years developing another combat style, the opportunity to inherit the accumulated knowledge of countless swordsmen might be enough to make them reconsider their chosen path entirely.

Some might even abandon their previous weapons just to dedicate themselves to the sword.

That was how valuable this weapon was.

Unfortunately for the Sword Saint, Kael wasn’t quite so easily convinced.

He certainly appreciated the gift, and he had no intention of letting such a valuable weapon go to waste.

However, that didn’t mean he was suddenly going to abandon the path he had chosen.

He could still learn swordsmanship without making it the sole focus of his combat abilities.
