SSS-Rank Awakening: My Talent Multiplies Everything
Chapter 287: A Price Worth Paying.
Aurelius stared at Kael for a moment after hearing his decision.
"Huh? Brat, are you sure about that? Those two items aren’t exactly cheap."
"Yeah, I know." Kael glanced at the prices displayed on the interface. "But it’s a price I’m willing to pay."
Aurelius studied him for another moment before looking back at the two items. The branch from a matured World Tree cost fifty million Tower Coins, while the Spring of Life cost eighty million. Together, they amounted to a hundred and thirty million Tower Coins.
It was certainly an enormous sum for an ordinary-looking Tower climber like Kael, so Aurelius couldn’t help giving him a complicated look.
He’d dealt with countless customers throughout his existence and had learned not to judge people solely by appearance. Still, it was hard not to feel skeptical when someone like Kael suddenly announced he intended to spend over a hundred million Tower Coins.
First, there was Kael’s strength, and the number of floors he’d climbed. From what Aurelius could tell, the young man hadn’t reached a level that should warrant such wealth. Then there was his appearance, he was wearing nothing more than ordinary house clothes, with no particularly impressive equipment in sight.
In other words, he looked far more ordinary than someone capable of casually spending a hundred and thirty million Tower Coins.
Of course, appearances could be deceiving. Aurelius had seen stranger things during his long career as a merchant, and he wasn’t foolish enough to reject a customer’s intentions based on assumptions alone.
"Sure, then."
He waved his hand.
The interface before Kael shifted, and the shop’s previous display disappeared. In its place were the two items Kael had selected, each accompanied by its price and a clearly visible button beneath it.
[Purchase]
Aurelius pointed toward the interface.
"You can simply click the purchase button. The transaction will be processed automatically, and the required amount will be deducted from your Tower Coin balance. If you wish to make another purchase later, you can do so through the same interface."
He smiled faintly.
"It’s a rather convenient system, wouldn’t you agree?"
Kael nodded.
"Yeah."
He reached forward without hesitation and pressed the purchase button.
The moment his finger touched the interface, the display flickered.
[Transaction Successful.]
Kael felt a subtle shift as the Tower processed the transaction. His Tower Coin balance dropped, and the two items, now registered as purchased, were transferred to his Inventory.
He immediately summoned his Status Window.

Kael’s gaze immediately settled on his Tower Coin balance.
He stared at the number for a few seconds before letting out a quiet sigh.
He had just spent a hundred and thirty million Tower Coins.
Even though his remaining balance was still absurdly large by ordinary standards, watching such a considerable amount disappear in a single transaction was a different experience altogether.
"Well, guess it’s for the greater good."
There wasn’t much point regretting it now. The two items were meant to help his mother, and that alone made the expenditure worthwhile. Besides, the branch from the matured World Tree would continue providing benefits long after the initial purchase. If he considered the long-term value, the price wasn’t entirely unreasonable.
While Kael was busy looking at his Status Window, Aurelius was experiencing an entirely different reaction.
The transaction had gone through successfully.
The brat had actually paid.
A hundred and thirty million Tower Coins, transferred without the slightest difficulty.
Aurelius’s earlier skepticism vanished almost immediately. The complicated look in his eyes gave way to a brilliant smile, and his entire demeanor seemed to change.
"My honorable and distinguished customer!"
Kael slowly turned his head.
Aurelius stood before him with a smile so bright that it almost seemed to belong to a different person.
"Perhaps there’s something else you’re interested in? Please, don’t hesitate to tell me! I’ll be more than happy to assist you to the best of my abilities."
Kael stared at him for a moment.
Then he frowned slightly.
What the hell was with this sudden change in attitude?
Just a moment ago, Aurelius had been calling him a brat and warning him not to waste his time. Now, he was treating him like some distinguished guest whose satisfaction determined the fate of his entire business.
Kael couldn’t help sighing inwardly.
Guess every merchant is the same. They all change the moment they see money.
Still, he wasn’t particularly bothered by it. If anything, this development might prove useful. Since Aurelius was suddenly so eager to please him, Kael might as well take advantage of the situation.
There was no reason not to.
"Actually, there is something else I’m looking for."
Aurelius immediately straightened.
"Oh? And what might that be?"
Kael explained Ezra’s situation.
Aurelius listened quietly without interrupting, his expression growing steadily more serious as Kael laid everything out.
When Kael finally finished, Aurelius fell silent for a moment.
"So, a friend of yours has suffered injuries to both her soul and spirit?"
Kael nodded.
"That’s right."
Aurelius stroked his chin thoughtfully before giving a small nod.
"All right. I know exactly what would help in this situation."
Kael’s eyes lit up slightly.
"Really?"
"Of course. Do you think you’re speaking to an ordinary merchant?"
Aurelius lifted his chin proudly, though his expression soon returned to normal.
"Unfortunately, I don’t have the item with me at the moment."
Kael’s expression fell a little.
"Oh."
The disappointment in his voice was subtle, but Aurelius noticed it.
"Fret not, my dear customer. Although I don’t have it on hand, I can contact my main body and have it sent over."
Kael paused. "Your main body?"
Aurelius looked at him as though he’d just asked the stupidest question imaginable.
"Of course! do you think a great, supreme, and distinguished god like myself would be wandering around the Tower selling goods in person?"
He spread his arms grandly.
"This is merely one of my clones!"
Kael looked at him for a few seconds.
"Oh."
He nodded.
"That makes sense."
Kael didn’t bother asking any further questions.
"All right, then. I’ll leave you to it."
"No need!"
Aurelius waved his hand dismissively.
"I’ve already taken care of it. Your goods should arrive within the next few hours."
Kael froze.
"Wait. When did you contact your main body?"
Aurelius only gave him a mysterious smile.
"That, my distinguished customer, is a trade secret."
Kael looked at him for another moment before deciding not to pursue the matter.
He had no idea what method Aurelius had used, but it was probably beyond his current understanding anyway. There was little point trying to figure out every mysterious thing the man did.
Instead, Kael found himself feeling fortunate.
Getting his hands on that VIP card might have been one of the best things that had happened to him since his regression.
Until now, obtaining the resources he needed had always been a major concern. Even with his Infinite Reward Multiplier, finding specific items wasn’t necessarily easy.
Yet, in just a few transactions with Aurelius, he had already found a way to acquire the resources needed for his mother and potentially help Ezra with her injuries as well.
The problem that had been bothering him for so long was finally beginning to look manageable.
Kael glanced at Aurelius, his opinion of the VIP card rising even further.
Then Aurelius suddenly spoke again.
"Now, before your goods arrive, I’d like to properly introduce you to the item I recommended for your friend’s condition."
