SSS-Rank Awakening: My Talent Multiplies Everything
Chapter 254: Lyra Iron Bucket Series Version 2.0.
Time passed without either of them realizing it.
What had started as a simple breakfast had turned into a long conversation, and before Kael knew it, another hour had already gone by. The two siblings remained seated across from each other, moving between one topic and another as Kael continued revealing things he had previously kept hidden.
Eventually, he told Lyra about her hidden information and her locked abilities.
The potential that existed within her but had yet to be properly awakened.
Lyra’s eyes immediately lit up when she heard that she possessed abilities she had never known about. The excitement was genuine, and for a moment, she seemed eager to know exactly what she could eventually become.
She didn’t show it openly, but the thought had been sitting somewhere in the back of her mind for a while now. Kael was growing far too quickly. Every time she thought she had a better understanding of his strength, she discovered that he had already moved several steps beyond what she had imagined.
If things continued at this rate, there might come a day when she couldn’t even provide him with the slightest bit of help.
What good was being his sister if she could do nothing when he needed her?
But her excited mood quickly soured when Kael admitted he didn’t actually know how to unlock those abilities. Still, the thought that if they were locked rather than nonexistent, there was still a possibility they could be unlocked was enough to give her some hope.
As long as there was a possibility, she wasn’t going to give up.
Their conversation continued after that, moving through various topics that had nothing to do with abilities or strength. They talked about their family, their childhood, and eventually the strange mysteries surrounding their parents.
The more they discussed it, the more difficult it became to believe that everything was simply a coincidence.
Both siblings possessed abilities far from ordinary, it couldn’t just be coincidence. There had to be a reason, and that reason couldn’t be far off. Their parents.
When the conversation turned to their parents, Lyra suddenly went quiet.
Kael noticed the change immediately but said nothing, letting her work through her emotions on her own. After a brief silence, she finally spoke.
"Do you know anything about Dad?" She paused, "did Mom tell you anything?"
Hearing the sudden question, Kael furrowed his brows and shook his head in response.
"Do you?"
Lyra lowered her gaze for a moment before finally speaking.
"Well, when we were young, I overheard Mom talking about him."
Kael’s attention sharpened.
"What did she say?"
"Not much."
Lyra thought for a moment.
"She only said that Dad had to deal with some enemies and that he would eventually come back to find us."
Kael’s brows furrowed.
"Enemies?"
The word immediately caught his attention.
"What kind of enemies?"
Lyra shook her head.
"I don’t know. She never said."
Kael remained silent for a moment before another thought occurred to him.
"Was that why you refused when I suggested we move away back then?"
Lyra looked at him.
"I suppose I was being a little hopeful."
"Hopeful? That he would actually come back."
She gave a small shrug.
"But eventually I realized something."
Her expression became quieter.
"All my life, I’ve only had a few people I could rely on. Dad wasn’t one of them."
Kael said nothing.
"If there was somewhere better we could go, then moving would be good for both of us. Why should we stay here waiting for someone who might never come back?"
Lyra paused before adding, "Besides, that was only something I overheard from Mom when I was young. Who knows if Dad will ever actually return?"
Kael slowly nodded, her reasoning made sense.
Yet even after understanding her decision, Kael couldn’t stop himself from furrowing his brows.
Enemies.
Their father had apparently been dealing with enemies since before either of them was born, and those enemies had kept him away for all these years.
That alone told Kael something.
Whatever their father was involved in, it probably wasn’t something simple.
If he had merely encountered ordinary enemies, then there was no reason for him to disappear from their lives for so long. There was no reason for their mother to raise two children alone while apparently waiting for a man who never returned.
Kael leaned back slightly, his expression becoming thoughtful.
His own growth was progressing well. With enough time, he was confident that he would eventually become strong enough to deal with most obstacles that appeared in his path.
But that was precisely the problem.
Time.
He didn’t know how much of it they had.
And more importantly, Lyra was still too weak.
If whatever had kept their father away for all these years was still active, then there was no guarantee that the danger would conveniently wait until Kael was strong enough to deal with it.
Lyra needed to become stronger as well, but the problem was figuring out how, and the first method that came to his mind was simple.
Resources.
If he could continuously provide Lyra with powerful treasures capable of strengthening her body, improving her foundation, enhancing her abilities, and increasing her cultivation speed, then her growth could naturally accelerate.
Unfortunately, that method wasn’t particularly practical.
Even with the wealth Kael currently possessed, constantly feeding someone with high-level treasures would be an enormous expense. More importantly, his method of obtaining resources wasn’t stable enough for something like that.
His rewards came in random ways.
Sometimes he would obtain something extremely valuable.
Sometimes he would receive something completely unrelated to what he currently needed.
The Multiplier talent could produce ridiculous results, but it didn’t allow him to simply choose exactly which resource he wanted and guarantee that it would appear.
Relying entirely on treasures would therefore be too unreliable.
Which left the second method.
Techniques.
Kael possessed an enormous amount of knowledge regarding different cultivation techniques and combat methods, both from his newly acquired arcane knowledge and the knowledge he’d gained from Varek.
There were plenty of techniques he could teach Lyra.
As for himself, Kael had never bothered cultivating most of them because there was simply no need.
The Primordial Genesis Sutra already covered almost every aspect of cultivation he required. Adding another cultivation technique on top of it would only waste his time.
As for why he couldn’t just teach her the Primordial Genesis Sutra, well, there was a restriction on the technique, it could only be cultivated by a single entity within the same reality.
Kael still didn’t completely understand what the technique meant by "reality." There were too many things he didn’t know about the greater structure of existence to make any definitive conclusion.
But one thing was certain.
He and Lyra existed within the same reality.
That meant Lyra couldn’t cultivate the Primordial Genesis Sutra.
It was unfortunate, but it didn’t mean she was without options.
There were countless powerful techniques in existence. The Primordial Genesis Sutra might be superior to most of them, but that didn’t make every other technique useless.
Some techniques specialized in strengthening the body.
Others focused on energy manipulation.
Some could enhance one’s spiritual power, while others were designed specifically for combat.
If Kael carefully selected one suited to Lyra’s natural abilities, he could greatly accelerate her growth without having to rely entirely on rare treasures.
As Kael continued thinking about which technique would be most suitable, his phone suddenly buzzed.
