Chapter 235: The Main Culprit.

After fighting his way through a horde of guards, Kael finally arrived at the room where the mental link had led him.

The moment he stepped inside, his eyes swept across the interior.

There were only three people in the room.

Kael’s gaze moved from one to another before finally settling on a familiar face.

Morgan.

The Vice Captain of the Dark Viper Guild.

Kael’s eyes immediately turned cold.

So it really was about revenge in the end.

He had already suspected as much, but seeing Morgan standing here was enough to confirm that his instincts had been right. The attack on Ezra hadn’t been some random incident. Someone had deliberately targeted someone close to him, and the person responsible had ties to the Dark Viper Guild.

Kael’s gaze shifted toward the man standing beside Morgan.

Nathan.

His expression remained completely calm.

"You’re the one controlling those thugs, right?"

Silence filled the room as Nathan’s heart sank.

How had he found them? This wasn’t supposed to happen.

If someone had told him even a few minutes earlier that Kael would somehow trace the mental link back to them, he would have thought they were insane. Their plan had been simple. Use the controlled thugs to deal with Ezra, make the incident look like an ordinary attack, and leave no obvious connection to the Dark Viper Guild.

Yet Kael had found them.

And now he was standing directly in front of them.

Nathan’s initial fear quickly faded as he reminded himself of something important.

Kael was powerful, yes, but he was still a newly promoted S-Rank Hunter.

Could he really afford to make an enemy of the entire Dark Viper Guild?

Nathan forced himself to remain calm and raised his chin, his voice carrying a hint of defiance.

"How dare you barge into Dark Viper Guild territory and attack our people? Are you trying to make an enemy of the Dark Viper Guild?"

Kael’s eyes narrowed slightly.

A threat.

That was the only thing Nathan could think of saying?

He didn’t bother responding. His body simply blurred, and before Nathan could even react, Kael had already appeared directly in front of him.

A hand closed around his throat. Nathan’s expression changed instantly, he didn’t even have time to struggle.

Crack!

His neck was crushed.

Kael released his grip, and Nathan’s lifeless body collapsed to the floor.

The entire exchange lasted less than a second.

Morgan and the remaining man stood frozen.

Fear spread through their bodies as they stared at Nathan’s corpse.

Kael had actually killed him.

Just like that.

He hadn’t hesitated.

He hadn’t even cared about the consequences of killing someone inside Dark Viper Guild territory.

It was clear now.

Kael truly didn’t fear becoming an enemy of the Dark Viper Guild.

With Nathan dead, however, Kael still wasn’t satisfied.

His gaze slowly shifted toward the two remaining men.

Eventually, it settled on Morgan.

"I remember telling you to keep your dog on a leash the last time we met."

Kael’s voice was cold.

"Seems like you didn’t register my warning."

A terrifying killing intent slowly seeped from his body.

Morgan immediately felt his blood run cold.

The atmosphere itself seemed to change.

His breathing became difficult, his muscles stiffened, and cold sweat began covering his body. The killing intent pressing down on him felt like the approach of certain death.

There was no room for pride now.

No room for dignity.

Morgan immediately threw himself onto his knees.

"Please spare my life!" he begged. "I promise this wasn’t my intention. I was ordered to do it!"

Kael frowned.

"Ordered?"

His eyes narrowed.

"By who?"

Morgan hesitated.

Then Kael’s expression changed slightly.

"It doesn’t matter."

Morgan’s heart skipped a beat.

"Lead me to the person who ordered you to do it."

Morgan stared at him in disbelief.

"Now?"

He had only mentioned his superior to buy himself some time.

Kael’s attack on the club would have already been noticed by the guild. Reinforcements should be on their way. All Morgan needed to do was keep Kael here until they arrived.

But now Kael wanted to go directly to the person who had given the order.

What kind of lunatic had they provoked?

Morgan’s thoughts raced.

Kael, however, simply frowned at his hesitation.

"Of course."

His voice became colder.

"Or do you need convincing before you do that?"

The killing intent surrounding him intensified.

Morgan’s body stiffened.

"No! No, no, of course not!"

He immediately scrambled back to his feet.

"I’ll lead you there. Immediately."

"Perfect."

Kael’s gaze shifted toward Morgan’s remaining subordinate.

He casually pointed at him.

"Go meet your friend in hell."

The man’s face instantly turned pale.

"W-Wait! Please, I..."

Bang!

A concentrated projectile of earth energy shot from Kael’s finger, and the man’s head exploded instantly. His body crumpled to the floor.

Morgan stared at the corpse of his final subordinate, his fists slowly tightening at his sides.

Anger boiled deep within him. Nathan, his other subordinate, both dead, right in front of him. But Morgan didn’t dare say a word.

He swallowed his anger and turned around, beginning to lead Kael out of the room.

By now, the once-bustling club had become eerily quiet.

The guests had fled.

The employees had disappeared.

The guards who had attempted to stop Kael were either dead or had abandoned the building entirely.

Only silence remained.

Kael followed Morgan through the deserted club until the two of them finally stepped outside.

Morgan immediately started toward the parking area.

"We’ll take a car."

Kael stopped him.

"We’ll be faster on foot."

Morgan turned around.

Kael continued, "We’re both Awakeners. Our speed is faster than anything you could drive through this city."

Morgan hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Okay."

Kael looked at him.

"Lead the way. I’ll follow."

Morgan nodded again.

The next moment, the two men moved.

Their figures blurred as they shot through the city, leaving the deserted club behind.
