Chapter 59: A Blessing, Not A Curse

For a moment, Luna looked much brighter. "This... this means that, for the next little while, things should go relatively smoothly for you..."

Aiden suppressed the shock in his heart and nodded.

"A very impressive ability." He glanced at the time.

Ten minutes. He had no intention of wasting a single second of it.

"Rest here and don’t wander off. I’m going out for a moment."

He rose to his feet. "I’ll be back soon."

Without waiting for a response, Aiden Cross turned and walked quickly toward the church’s entrance.

Ten minutes of significantly enhanced Luck. He had to make the most of it.

He did not go far though, merely strolling through the church’s desolate courtyard and the surrounding ruins. He wanted to see exactly what benefits this "Lucky" effect could bring.

However, what happened next left even Aiden Cross, a man who had been reborn and possessed extensive experience, genuinely stunned.

He had barely walked twenty meters beyond the church gate when his foot seemed to catch on something.

Aiden lowered his head.

A chest emitting a faint white glow was wedged beneath a loose flagstone.

He opened it.

Inside were two bottles of [Minor Health Potion] and a [Rough Whetstone].

Aiden’s eyebrows rose slightly. ’A decent find.’

He continued forward. When he reached a low wall, he casually placed his hand against it, intending to climb over.

A brick suddenly loosened and fell away.

Aiden paused. Behind the missing brick was a small hollow in the wall.

And inside that hollow lay a skill book.

Although it was merely a common warrior skill, it was still a decent gain this early in the game.

Aiden’s expression became slightly strange.

’Was this really just coincidence?’

He continued walking. When he passed a thorn-covered bush that had mutated beneath the influence of the data light rain, a panicked Level 1 [Corrupted Squirrel] suddenly burst out.

The squirrel frantically darted around before...

It slammed headfirst into a nearby broken wall. Its tiny body went limp.

There, half-buried beneath a layer of dead leaves, was another chest.

In less than five minutes, he had encountered three chests, a skill book, and a monster that had effectively committed suicide.

Another piece of Uncommon equipment. And this time, it was a lower-body armor piece, an equipment slot that was relatively difficult to fill in the early game.

On top of that, there were three valuable Uncommon materials and five Gold Coins.

Aiden stared at the heavy plate leggings glowing faintly green in his hand before looking at the various items that had appeared in his inventory.

Even with his normally composed temperament, he couldn’t help but draw in a slow breath.

This was merely a normal luck result. Not even "Great Luck."

Aiden’s eyes gleamed with understanding.

Luna was still curled up in the corner. When she saw Aiden Cross return, a hint of anticipation and anxiety flickered in her eyes. But the moment she noticed the green-glowing plate leggings, skill book, potions, and various materials in his hands, her amethyst-like eyes widened.

Her small mouth fell slightly open in disbelief.

"A... are these all...?" She pointed at the items in Aiden Cross’s hands.

"Yes. Thanks to you." Aiden Cross smiled.

It was perhaps the most sincere smile he had worn since his rebirth. Although faint, it carried genuine appreciation, and a trace of excitement.

"I found them outside just now."

Luna Everhart was completely stunned. She had known that "Lucky" would bring good fortune, but she had never imagined its effects would be so immediate and so... outrageous.

In just a few minutes, Aiden had obtained multiple chests, a skill book, an equipment piece, valuable materials, and even experience from a monster that had practically killed itself.

This completely overturned her understanding of her own class.

"Do you see?" Aiden Cross walked over to her, his voice firm yet encouraging.

"Your power is not a curse. It’s a true blessing." He looked directly into her eyes.

"It’s powerful. Very powerful." Then his expression became slightly more serious.

"But you need to learn to master it, rather than allow it to master you."

Luna Everhart stared at him. Then she looked down at the three ancient dice resting quietly beside her.

The confusion and fear that had always lingered within her eyes seemed to melt away like ice beneath the spring sun.

In their place emerged something she had rarely, if ever, possessed before.

Confidence.

She nodded vigorously. "I... I’ll try my best!"

Her voice was still faint, but there was newfound determination within it.

Aiden Cross smiled in satisfaction. Recruiting Luna wasn’t merely equivalent to gaining one of the strongest support abilities for his future.

It also meant that he had potentially acquired a trump card capable of turning the tide in his eventual confrontation with Damien Bale and his "Destiny."

With Sovereign of Souls and Heavenly Karmic Dice working together, the possibilities were almost limitless.

Aiden glanced toward the church entrance.

Outside, the sunlight had gradually begun to slant westward, a beautiful scene simulated by the artificial data sky.

He had already spent enough time here. "Let’s go. This place isn’t safe anymore."

He extended a hand toward Luna. "Come with me."

Luna Everhart stared at the well-defined, powerful hand before her. Then she slowly looked up at Aiden Cross’s cold yet reassuring profile.

For a moment, she hesitated. But only for a moment. Almost without hesitation, she placed her own cold, slender hand gently into his palm.

The instant their hands touched, something seemed to shift within the invisible threads of fate.

Two completely different paths, which should never have crossed, had now converged.

Their destinies had officially begun to intertwine at this moment.
