SSS Awakening: I am the First Mecha Overlord
Chapter 97: A Dirty Fight
"How’s Lyx doing anyway?" he asked, and she paused, turning to the side.
Declan looked up and found a building standing before them.
"Broken as ever by your lecherous ass," she claimed with a piercing look, causing him to unconsciously shrink his head into his neck.
"Anyway, we’re here..." she said, causing his brows to furrow.
He had no recollection of such a building whatsoever.
"What are we doing here anyway?"
"To fight!" she asked.
"WHAT!?"
He shouted as Kiara disappeared inside.
He followed her, and the moment he stepped through the entrance, he was surprised, with a chill quickly running down his spine.
The building had a dark atmosphere, with very dim lights scattered around, and it reeked of alcohol and smoke.
It was like some sort of bar, with students sitting around round tables, unusually quiet save for the sound of smoke being exhaled.
What caught his attention most was that all the students wore hoodies, making them harder to recognize, but it also allowed Declan to fit in since he had been wearing a hoodie as usual.
"Where the hell is this place?" he whispered as he caught up to Kiara, who waltzed forward confidently as if the place were her personal room.
"A nice place," she said, and he stared at her like he had seen a ghost.
"I always knew you were a little off, but going for this dark mood isn’t in my..."
"Shut UP! Lecherous ass!" she exclaimed, pinching his neck as she dragged him through a stairway leading up to the second floor.
______________
"Well, look who’s finally here. Took you long enough."
A voice called out the moment they arrived on the second floor, followed by loud, boisterous laughter from the others around them.
"You lame asses really are so desperate to keep your ego that you’ll come earlier than your little peepees usually cum just for it."
Kiara’s reply caused the men’s laughter to halt in their throats, while a boisterous laugh quickly escaped Declan, immediately drawing everyone’s attention.
He paused when he noticed the murderous stares directed at him and whispered,
"Sorry. That was just too good."
"And who is the laughing clown?"
The question rang out through the dark hall, causing all eyes to turn toward Declan, whose laughter immediately stopped.
Kiara pointed at him, introducing him. "His name is Declan. The one..."
She was still speaking when the air around her hair suddenly rustled.
She turned to look, only to find that Declan was no longer there.
"What the!?"
BAAAAAAAANG!
A mini-explosion erupted through the hall, sending shockwaves rippling through the air.
Kiara’s eyes widened as she looked toward the source, her breath catching in her throat.
Right at the center of the hall stood Declan, with the same dude who had just called him a clown pinned beneath his foot, his head embedded in a crater on the ground.
"I can agree to be called a bastard, or a fool, or an idiot, or even a lecherous piece of shit,"
Declan said quietly, though his words echoed clearly through the silence.
"But anything involving clowns, I consider degrading. Call me that next time, and I assure you those will be your last words."
The words echoed calmly, without the faintest hint of anger, yet the heartbeats of everyone present spiraled upon hearing them.
Faraq felt insulted, unable to come to terms with the fact that he was lying on the ground with a leg planted over him, yet the moment his eyes faintly met those blue eyes, his bones froze beneath his skin.
Those beautiful eyes screamed of murder, like a chained beast waiting for the slightest opportunity to be unleashed.
With his point made, Declan removed his foot and turned to look at Kiara.
"And who exactly did we come to fight?" he asked, watching her eyes unconsciously trail down to his feet, where Faraq still lay.
She stepped forward at that moment, staring down at the now-seated Faraq.
"You lost," she said, and crippling silence reigned throughout the room.
"I’ll be expecting the points and a video of your apology to the Endknot Cult."
She signaled for Declan to leave with her, but they had yet to reach the exit when the door automatically shut with a loud...
BAAAANG!
"Hahahahahahaha!"
Boisterous laughter escaped Faraq’s lips as he rose to his feet, wiping the blood from his nose.
"Can you believe it, guys?" he asked, turning toward the dozens of men in the room who were slowly rising to their feet.
"The notorious Kiara really expects us Recklessars to fight fair."
Declan and Kiara were surrounded by them, and they all quickly began glowing with light as they shifted into their Mech Module forms.
"Hey, kid," Faraq called out as Declan gave him a sideways glance.
"You’ll have no greater regret in your life than what you just did now. I swear it on my life."
His words caused Declan’s normally calm expression to subtly widen into a feral grin.
"If I knew you would fight fair, I myself alone would be enough, stupid,"
Kiara said, and as she took off the cap of her hoodie, her crimson eyes began glowing so intensely that they formed two rays of light that pierced forward, painting the room crimson.
Her hands shifted in the next moment, the skin retreating to form Nanotech hands covered in large fist gauntlets, which she slammed together, producing an ear-shredding...
BAAAANG!
BAAAAANG!
She turned to Declan immediately afterward.
"Everything is allowed..."
"Fr? Even an eye poke?"
"Yes. Even a ball kick!" she replied, and he grinned evilly.
"DESTROY THEM!" Faraq barked.
In the next moment, all hell broke loose.
Declan took a step backward and faded out of thin air, while Kiara stepped forward toward the closest opponent.
It was a dude holding a bat covered in crimson energy that made the air around it quiver as if it were set on fire.
He ran toward her and swung it overhead, but it missed Kiara, who ducked beneath it before throwing an uppercut.
It smashed straight into the guy’s jaw, sending him flying into the ceiling, where his neck became lodged as his legs dangled in the air.
The bat he had been holding fell free and landed right in Kiara’s hands, and she swung it downward with tremendous force toward a student approaching from the side.
It smashed directly into the guy’s head, sending him flying face-first into the ground.
His rear end stuck up into the air as he remained motionless, obviously having had the lights knocked out of him.
The bat was flung into the air by the force of the impact, and Kiara kicked it, sending it flying toward another one of them.
It slammed straight into the guy’s nose, forcing him several steps backward before he collapsed onto one knee, blood rushing from his nose.
For the next few seconds...
BAAAAANG!
CRAAAACKK!
BAAAAANG!
CRAAAACKK!
All that could be heard was the incessant sound of things being smashed into pieces and bones being cracked.
"Where... where is he!?"
At the far end of the hall, a couple of dudes lay huddled together, their eyes darting from side to side as they desperately tried to keep up with the black blur flashing through the room at incredible speed.
One moment, he was on the ceiling; the next, something flashed past them.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
One of them was suddenly sent flying as a punch slammed into his nose, blasting him through the far wall on the other side.
"OPEN FIREEEE!"
One of them screamed in horror as they fired plasma after plasma.
Many of the students immediately dropped to the ground to avoid the barrage, while Kiara shielded herself by placing her gauntleted hands in front of her, the projectiles bouncing off them.
Yet through the gaps between her arms, she could see a blur of darkness flashing back and forth, sending each of the students collapsing to the ground.
"He’s insanely fast!"
She mused under her breath, noticing that even her eyes were struggling to keep up.
CLICK!
CLICK!
"DAMN IT!"
Faraq cursed as he pulled the trigger of his weapon, but nothing came out.
He had run out of ammunition, so he quickly threw the weapon aside and reached for his pockets, only for a hand to suddenly grab him from behind.
VROOOOM!
The air flapped as he instinctively swung his hands behind him, but Declan dodged the attack and slammed his head straight into Faraq’s nose.
He tumbled several steps backward but quickly pulled a knife from his pocket and rushed forward, thrusting it toward Declan, who faded into thin air.
"He’s gone aga..."
The words were never completed as he felt a hand gently wrap around his jaw and the back of his head.
Before he could react...
CRAAAACK!
The sound of bones cracking rang out as his head grotesquely tilted, instantly knocking the lights out of his eyes before he dropped to the ground with a heavy thud.
More explosions before the entire hall came to silence. Only two people remained standing at the end of it all.
_______________
"Huuuu, finally off her radar."
Declan mused to himself as he resumed walking forward, now back in the newcomer area.
She had probably dragged him into that fight hoping he would get his ass handed to him, but he had successfully avoided that outcome.
They eventually parted ways once they were out of the building, though not without Kiara promising to deal with him personally next time.
He found himself in the cafeteria for a quick meal, spending about fifteen minutes there before heading back to his dorm.
There was no one in the corridor, saving him the trouble of running into that fat pig or Kiara, and he quietly swiped his card over the scanner before stepping inside.
