SSS Awakening: I am the First Legendary Mage

Chapter 325: Powerful Regeneration [POWER STONE BONUS]

’I did it. I can actually block attacks like that now,’ Alex thought, feeling an enormous sense of satisfaction. Until now, whenever he encountered giant monsters like the Wild Orcs, he had been forced to dodge their attacks or kill them before they could land a proper hit.

However, with his current abilities, he finally had another option. Even if he couldn’t withstand such attacks without injuries, being able to survive them was already a considerable improvement.

He took another step forward, intending to continue fighting, but his legs suddenly weakened, nearly causing him to collapse. Only then did he fully realize how much damage his previous attack had caused.

Releasing that much accumulated kinetic energy through his fist had nearly shattered the bones throughout his body. Blood dripped from his nose and mouth, while his vision swam slightly as Minor Heal Spell struggled to repair the damage.

’I guess I need to improve my Superior Body Reinforcement Spell before I can use that much power without hurting myself,’ Alex observed. Nevertheless, he was satisfied with the results, since he now knew what his body could withstand and what he still needed to improve.

Before he could examine his injuries further, the third and fourth Krakens launched an enormous water sword and spear toward the passage behind him. Alex immediately condensed mana into a large Mana Sphere, surrounding its surface with a thick layer of Disruption Mana.

He then allowed the sphere to expand rapidly, spreading across the corridor until it collided with both incoming attacks. The Disruption Mana broke apart the mana maintaining their forms, causing the enormous weapons to disintegrate before they could reach his companions.

Alex continued producing Mana Spheres covered in Disruption Mana, expanding them throughout the corridor to prevent any further attacks from passing him. Although maintaining so many spells simultaneously required considerable concentration, his enhanced mental abilities allowed him to manage them without much difficulty.

However, while manipulating the spheres, Alex suddenly noticed something interesting. The combination of his Mana Spheres and Disruption Mana was powerful enough to penetrate the bodies of the Mid Rank Species Krakens.

Alex noticed that the first Kraken, whose tentacle he had torn off earlier, still hadn’t regenerated its missing limb.

’So it really can interfere with their regeneration,’ Alex thought, grinning as he considered the possibilities. If he could prevent these monsters from healing themselves, defeating them would become considerably easier.

Without wasting another moment, Alex dashed forward, accelerating so rapidly that the surrounding corridor seemed to blur. As he approached the injured Kraken, he used Kinetic Mana to absorb his momentum, bringing himself to an almost instantaneous stop.

He then jumped upward, launching himself toward the monster’s head. As he approached, Alex pulled his fist backward and prepared to use the Piercing Punch he had previously taught his companions.

The technique allowed an attack to bypass external defenses by transferring its force into the target’s body. Alex had practiced it several times, but this was his first attempt at combining it with such an enormous amount of stored kinetic energy.

He released nearly all the energy he had accumulated into a single punch, striking the Kraken directly in the head. Surprisingly, the point of impact suffered almost no visible damage, although the force had already traveled deep inside the monster’s body.

A moment later, the back of the Kraken’s head exploded, scattering pieces of its brain across the corridor. Its enormous body immediately began collapsing, although Alex had no time to watch it fall.

Three tentacles shot toward him from different directions, forcing him to react before his feet even touched the ground. Apparently, the remaining Krakens had realized their water attacks were useless against his Disruption Mana and had decided to rely entirely on physical attacks.

Alex used the remaining kinetic energy to propel himself downward, narrowly avoiding the approaching tentacles.

He immediately dashed toward the second Kraken, repeating the same process he had used against the first. By absorbing his momentum and releasing it through Piercing Punch, he managed to transfer an enormous amount of force directly into the monster’s head.

The second Kraken collapsed almost immediately, and Alex continued toward the remaining two without slowing down. Neither monster managed to land another attack, and within several seconds, both had fallen to similar punches.

The entire battle had lasted barely thirty seconds. Apart from the tentacle he had deliberately blocked earlier, Alex hadn’t been struck even once.

Breathing heavily, he looked at the four enormous corpses scattered throughout the corridor before turning toward his companions. He was curious to see how their battle against the High Rank Species Kraken was progressing.

...

Sarah ran along one of the High Rank Species Kraken’s enormous tentacles, using her enhanced balance to maintain her footing. Her body was covered in sweat, but the droplets were behaving strangely, repeatedly pressing against her skin as though attempting to drill into her flesh.

’This damn monster can even control the sweat on my body,’ Sarah thought, gritting her teeth as she continued forward. Upon reaching the Kraken’s head, she thrust her spear forward, using the variation of Piercing Punch Technique she had developed specifically for her weapon.

The stabbing force traveled through the monster’s flesh, bypassing its external defenses before striking somewhere deep inside its head. Sarah was certain that she had damaged its brain, but to her frustration, the Kraken remained alive.

’Damn it, its regeneration and life force are too strong,’ she realized, immediately retreating before the monster could retaliate. However, one of its tentacles was already descending toward her.

Frank stepped forward and intercepted the attack, while Joseph stood behind him, absorbing the excess kinetic force that Frank couldn’t withstand alone. The two managed to stop the tentacle, although the impact forced them backward several steps.

Before the Kraken could attack again, Emma released three arrows in quick succession. They struck the tentacle and exploded, tearing apart the section that had been pressing against Frank.

"Thanks, Emma!" Frank shouted, regaining his balance before preparing for another attack.

Sarah used the opportunity to circle around the monster, searching for another opening.

As she moved, she glanced toward Alex and noticed that he had already finished dealing with the four Mid Rank Species Krakens. He was now standing some distance away, watching their battle without interfering.

Sarah pressed her lips together, recalling what she had witnessed earlier. Alex’s battle had been glorious, especially considering that he was supposed to be a Mage, yet he had fought four enormous monsters entirely through close combat.

More importantly, he hadn’t seemed afraid of the battle. Instead, he had been clearly enjoying himself, experimenting with his abilities and becoming stronger while fighting.
