Springtime Farming: A Happy Wife At Home

Chapter 2371: Guess

Chapter 2371: Guess

Tian Shanshan glared at Qiao Xuan, her anger palpable.

She knew she had overreacted, but after so many years, she hadn’t expected to encounter someone she had been obsessively dreaming about. The agitation from Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan’s words had caused her to lose control of her emotions, prompting her to blurt out those inappropriate remarks. Now, with a clearer mind, she found herself blaming Qiao Xuan and wanted to tear her apart.

If she had known this would happen, she would have killed Qiao Xuan without hesitation!

She had hoped to use Qiao Xuan’s life to coerce Shao Yunduan into marrying her, believing that with enough sincerity and persistence, Shao Yunduan would value her more than Qiao Xuan—after all, she was far superior to Qiao Xuan!

But now, everything she thought was within her grasp had evaporated in an instant.

“How could you escape? How did you manage it?”

Even though she knew the question might sound foolish, Tian Shanshan couldn’t help but ask in frustration.

Qiao Xuan smiled and raised her eyebrows. “Care to make a guess?”

Tian Shanshan stared at her, speechless.

Qiao Xuan’s response only fueled her anger further. Gritting her teeth, she said fiercely, “Ms. Qiao, I will not let you go!”

Shao Yunduan sneered and issued a command to Ah-Ye. “Kill anyone who refuses to put down their weapons!”

“Yes, Lord!” Ah-Ye responded promptly.

Shao Yunduan then turned away from Tian Shanshan and started to leave with Qiao Xuan in his arms. “Let’s go.”

Tian Shanshan felt a sharp pang in her heart. She bit her lip and glared at the two of them. The sight of Shao Yunduan’s hands on Qiao Xuan’s shoulders was infuriating.

Her eyes were wild with madness. How could he treat her like this? How could he…

“Lord Shao!” Tian Shanshan called out desperately. “Are you really going to betray everyone? Do you want to ruin your reputation and be despised by the entire world? Ms. Qiao, do you think you can rest easy while urging Lord Shao to commit such a terrible act for your own selfish desires?”

Qiao Xuan remained silent, unimpressed.

Shao Yunduan turned back, his expression cold. “Traitor? Aren’t the two Emperors traitors to each other?”

Qiao Xuan couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

Even Ah-Ye and the others laughed. Tian Shanshan’s face flushed with indignation, and the surrounded guards were fuming silently, though they had no response.

“Also, you’re mistaken. What I did has nothing to do with my wife. But if my wife wants me to do it, then I’ll do it. There’s no need for others to comment. Ah-Ye, don’t waste time on them. Handle it as soon as possible!”

“Yes, Lord!”

Shao Yunduan climbed into the wagon with Qiao Xuan. The wheels began to turn, and soon they were leaving the town, surrounded by a contingent of guards.

No one dared resist the Fourth Prince’s men, nor could they. One by one, individuals began to throw down their weapons, compelled to follow suit by the overwhelming threat of the arrows.

After all, who would gamble their lives on a chance when faced with such a deadly threat?

Tian Shanshan, watching the scene unfold, scolded angrily, “You have no backbone! You’ve disgraced the Emperor!”

The guards ignored her. Some looked embarrassed and kept their heads down.

Ah-Ye and the others exchanged mocking glances, thinking, Talk is cheap. If you had any real courage, you’d try resisting.

Tian Shanshan had no weapons to surrender, so abandoning them posed no issue. However, Ah-Ye and the others were not about to be lenient. They ordered someone to restrain her.
