Chapter 176 - 3-way Battle
“He is indeed a diamond in the rough.”Khalendros agreed.
Both of them turned to admire the “diamond” that they had found.
“Huh? He’s still in that position?” Khellendra remarked in slight confusion.
The “diamond” was bent down with his butt pointing up in an awkward position, and was completely motionless.
“Wait, the energy around him. Isn’t that… His frost domain, tornado and space energy?” Khalendros said.
And then, both of them promptly burst out laughing as they realized what happened!
Apparently, their “diamond” wanted to loot the trumpet rifles and their extremely effective space-lock ammo from the blue giants, and had inadvertently set one off.
Space around him had immediately locked, and being completely out of Purgatory Fire Energy, Elliot had succumbed to the frozen space and was furiously spamming his skills at that moment to overload the energy around him so that he could free himself.
“A very, very rough diamond.” Khellendra choked with laughter.
“What a clown!” Khalendros sighed with a slight smile and pointed down at the space around Elliot.
CRACK! BOOM!!!!
A series of powerful lightning bolts shot out of his fingers and immediately overloaded the space around Elliot with destructive power.
CRAAACCCCKK!!!! BAMMMM!!!!
The sheer amount of energy present around Elliot caused the space lock to splinter and break into pieces, thereby freeing Elliot from his embarrassing predicament.
“Hahaha! Thanks for your help. It was rather tricky trying to get out of the space-lock without much energy left in my tank.” Elliot said gratefully and slightly sheepishly.
“You’re powerful, but you’re a hopelessly blank canvas on all the technology and cutting edge magical progress of the universe.” Khalendros sighed. “You truly are one of a kind.”
“All I need is time. And with enough power, nothing else really matters.” Elliot shrugged Khalendros’ words away.
“You did well earlier in the fight.” Khellendra called out from high up in the sky.
“Thank you, Khellendra.” Elliot smiled at her. With their powerful vision, distance was not an issue in communication.
“Well…” Elliot glanced at the surrounding forest and felt instinctively that they contained clues for the mystery behind the Life Energy Seeds.
He wanted to stay and do abit of investigating. But at the same time, he didn’t want to alert the two dragons to the existence of such a treasure. Well, not until he has got his fill of them anyway.
“I want to explore the area slowly and look for suitable beasts to tame, and also for human survivors to rescue. I will be progressing towards Lake Elsinore for the next few days to secure a powerful hypercar. Why don’t we split up? We can keep in touch using these.”
Elliot took out a couple of communicators and tossed them to the two dragons.
“Hmmm. Useful. Well, we are in no hurry to go anywhere now that we’ve found you. We’ll just tag along and help you look for your fellow men.” Khellendra said as she strapped the communicator on her wrist.
“Damn it. I need to find a way to shake them off, or else the investigation for the Life Energy Seeds will have to be postponed!” Elliot thought to himself.
“Tag along? Why are we following a weak punk like him?” Khalendros protested loudly. “Let’s go and hunt more fugitive kings and other Inserts. We may yet find a strong one to bolster our group!”
“Aw, you don’t want to keep me company?” Elliot said in a slightly disappointed voice.
“Keep you company? You think we’re your babysitter? You keep yourself company!” Khalendros shouted at Elliot.
“Okay fine. Let’s do it this way. We’ll spend today hanging out with Elliot first, and then first thing tomorrow morning, we’ll go and continue our hunt. How’s that?” Khellendra said to Khalendros in a pacifying voice. “If we are to be team mates, we need to get to know each other. And we won’t be able to do that if we don’t spend time together!”
“Yeah. I guess one day is good enough.” Elliot said enthusiastically. He could spare a day to hang out with them. Afterall, the moles would need time to gather a huge stockpile of seeds too anyway.
“Fine. We’ll do that.” Khalendros grudgingly accepted Khellendra’s suggestion.
“Good! Let’s start by helping him clean up this battlefield. Elliot, I assume you want all the equipment and anything of value?” Khellendra asked.
“Yes please!” Elliot smiled at Khellendra gratefully. “Everything will be useful for the group of survivors I will be leading.”
“Ok.” Khellendra immediately got to work and got Khalendros to help out.
In the long and glorious history of the blue dragons, that moment must be the first time they actually bothered to loot a bunch of dead blue giants.
With Khellendra and Khalendros’ help, the entire battlefield was soon picked clean. Elliot promptly handed the loot over to Camelia and sent them back to their base.
“Take defensive positions and build up the base. Winter and Rex will be there to protect you.” Elliot had told them before they went back. “I will be back with a few cars for us.”
With his team on their way back to (relative) safety, Elliot was free to continue his hunt for the Life Seeds and snatch them from whichever strong beast was hoarding them. After he gets rid of the dragon couple tomorrow, of course.
“Since we will only have one day together, how about we have a three-way spar so that we can get to know each other better? As they say, you’ll know a person very well after a long a vigorous fight.” Khellendra suggested.
“I am in.” Khalendros immediately agreed and gave Elliot a sinister smile.
“Sure! Give me an hour to recharge my energy. I’ll fight you both then.” Elliot agreed as well. A surge of excitement coursed through his veins and his eyes gleamed in anticipation.
A three-way fight with two very powerful King level blue dragons? Perfect!!
“Fine. Take this hour to steel your heart and prepare for a beating!! Haha!” Khalendros laughed loudly.
“We’ll wait for you on that hill over there.” Khellendra pointed to a hill around three kilometers away. “Take all the time you need and just go over when you’re ready. We’ll have our fight there.”
“See you guys there then.” Elliot nodded.
With that, the two dragons flew away to give him a little bit of privacy.
