372 Haggling Queen
“Hmmm?” Elliot looked at Elise Sands with great interest, and no small amount of admiration.
Did she just finish mastering the runes as soon as he finished drawing them out?
What a ferocious genius!
But she was Jessica Sands’ great grandma.
She had lived for countless years and so it was no surprise that she was able to do exactly that.
Boom!!
Elise Sands’ power, which had already risen by an incredible amount, exploded once more as she broke past the final chasm between the Primal and Saint level!
Elliot’s mouth twitched lightly. He was completely at a loss on what to say!
A second Saint had appeared in the known universe, just like that??
“Hehehehe. You don’t have to look so shocked, boy. I had already laid the groundwork for advancement and was already on the cusp of breaking through. This wonderful Ascendant Rune was like giving a bicycle on the verge of being modified into a motorcycle, a jet engine!
What an amazing feeling. Now, take out all the other Ascendant Runes and let us partake of them!” Elise Sands said eagerly.
“You’re asking the wrong person.” Elliot said wryly. “Most of the breakdown of the Ascendant Rune wasn’t done by me. I merely rearranged them a little to make them easier to understand.”
“Hee hee! It was me, great grandma! I made them for Elliot!” Jessica Sands said proudly.
“You useless child. You had such a wonderful thing, and instead of sharing it with your family first, you shared them with a stranger! What am I to do with you?” Elise Sands nagged and shook her head helplessly at her cute little great granddaughter.
“I did try to tell gramps that I could do it. But he wouldn’t listen.” Jessica Sands pouted. “It’s his own loss for not taking what I had to give! One man’s loss, another man’s profit. Hee hee!
Elliot here will be the Emperor of the new universe empire that we will be making, great grandma! We were expecting to fight bloody battles to build up the empire from scratch, but with you around, you can just kill all our enemies and pave the way for us to make the strongest empire ever!” Jessica Sands said excitedly.
“I retired from politics and empires and all this nonsense exactly because I didn’t want the hassle of having to deal with them and all of their prickly leaders. And now you want me to do all your grunt work? You’re really good. You’re exactly like your mom.” Elise Sands said in a grouchy tone.
“Hee hee. You’ve retired for so long! Aren’t you bored? You should come out for a bit, bash up a few prickly old leaders for a bit and have some fun. I am sure if you do that for a few days and on a few of the nearby Primals, they would give you face and not attack us!” Jessica Sands said.
“No.” Elise Sands glared at Jessica Sands. “And it’s not as though you need me anyway. With his mastery over Ascendant Runes, I doubt any of the old coots from before could do anything to him. You don’t need me to do your dirty work!”
“She’s right, you know. Our empire is pretty much set in stone at this point. Just my Dragon Apostles are enough to ensure our safety permanently.” Elliot said.
“Indeed.” Dragon Apostle Golden Fire nodded in agreement. “With us united under Master, we are singularly the most powerful force in our known universe. And with the addition of the Ascendant Runes, we are completely untouchable.”
“However, if we want to aim for the unification of the entire universe…” Elliot let his sentence trail.
“What a huge appetite!” Elise Sands looked at Elliot in surprise.
“I will give you all the Ascendant Runes I know in exchange for your help for ten years!” Jessica Sands immediately cried out with great excitement.
The whole known universe!
They were going to invade all the other empires and gain control of the entire known universe!!
How exciting!!
“Hmmmmm. What a devious little haggler, just like your mom. Who is exactly like her dad, who is exactly like me.” Elise Sands chuckled lightly.
“One year. No more. And once you unify the known universe, I want all my needs met.” Elise Sands said firmly.
“Ten. And all your needs met.” Jessica Sands said seriously.
“One. Non negotiable.”
“For one year, I can give you one more Ascendant Rune. I will keep the other ten for myself. That’s my base price. I can’t go any lower than that. I need to pay my suppliers too!” Jessica Sands shook her head.
“You have no suppliers!!” Elise Sands shouted at her great granddaughter. But instead of anger, her voice was filled with excitement.
“She has another eleven runes! My oh my!!” She thought.
“I know. I just wanted to use that phrase for once. Hee hee!” Jessica Sands giggled.
“Fine. For all twelve runes, I will do two years.” Elise Sands said.
“Five, and I will give you all fifteen.” Jessica Sands smirked at her great grandma.
“Oh you sneaky little fox. Three years! I will help you for three years if you give me all fifteen runes!” She shouted with a wide, hungry smile.
“Three for fifteen is good. But don’t you want the other three? If you want the other three, then I want five years!” Jessica Sands said while blinking innocently.
“What? You flea market haggler!! You’re so young but you haggle like a grandma with fifty grandkids!!” Elise Sands shouted at her granddaughter. She was barely holding back her laughter of joy at that moment.
“So? Five years for eighteen?” Jessica Sands asked.
“Fine! Five years for eighteen! Hahahahaha! What a great deal!!” Elise Sands finally couldn’t help herself and roared with laughter!
“Okay!! Deal! Now for the the remaining six HIGHER grade Ascendant Runes, I want another five years! HAHAHAHAHA!” Jessica Sands roared with laugher as well, one that was eerily similar to her great grandma’s!!
