232 Bloodline Suppression
Jennifer twisted her body while in the air to allow her energy blade gain more speed and thus more penetrative power when she finally smashed it onto RakTharos.
Wham!
Her energy blade missed Rak’Tharos’ grinning face by a hair and smashed onto the empty ground.
Again.
But Jennifer had expected it. She smiled thinly and unleashed the large number of little spikes that had gathered in the air behind her that she had prepared while she was twisting in the air.
Hundreds of deadly little energy spikes exploded outwards as soon as she realized that her energy blade had missed.
Spiked Energy Blast!
However, again, her attacks found nothing.
Rak’Tharos had disappeared from his position and was nowhere to be seen.
Although her perfectly chained sequence of attacks had dealt a grand total of zero damage to Rak’Tharos, Jennifer was completely unperturbed and immediately went on to her next sequence of attacks.
Missing two attacks was nothing. She still had a lot of powerful skills at her disposal.
The initially colourless energy blade that protruded an impressive three meters out of her right hand suddenly turned an ominous, semi transparent black and started to emit a deeply murderous aura that would have caused any living being around her to physically wet themselves in fear.
To make things worse for her enemies, the number of energy blades had increased!
Now, blades were protruding everywhere from all parts of her body.
Her hands, elbows, shoulders, knees and feet were armed with a single energy blade each.
Three small and forward curving blades appeared on her arms and calves.
Seven upward curving energy blades ran down from her neck to her back and even two fearsome horns appeared on top of her head!
She had instantly turned from a cute little girl to… well. A cute little girl with energy blades all over her body.
The deeply murderous and terrifying aura she was giving out would instantly be able to flush out any and all of her stealthed enemies near her – IF they were at her level.
At her level, her aura would be devastatingly powerful, and her victims would enter a period of utter panic.
Their heartbeats would inevitably start to beat louder and faster, and their own auras would fluctuate.
Just that would be enough for her to immediately lock in to their positions.
But usually though, they would drop out of their stealth like birds falling out of the sky and try to flee.
In which case Jennifer had always been happy to give chase and then end their lives.
So far, ten powerful Lord level beasts had fallen to her that way.
At that moment though, she had an Emperor level warrior to hunt down.
She went into a wild spinning frenzy near Rak’Tharos’ last position and unleashed a storm of powerful attacks at an empty spot.
Whoosh!
A large scaled arm shot out of nowhere and grabbed Jennifer’s arm.
Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!
Jennifer instantly reacted and attacked the body that must be attached to that arm with a flurry of attacks with her legs and her other arm.
“How the heck did you discover my position?” Rak’Tharos growled in frustration. “This is the third time this week where you’ve been able to discover my position while I was in stealth! It should be impossible for a mere Lord like you to do that!”
Jennifer merely smirked lightly and remained silent.
As if she would reveal all the tricks and advancements that she had made to the beast that she would soon kill!
It wasn’t part of the contract at all!
“What’s my power level?” Jennifer asked.
“You’re good. You’re really, really good. With that final strike, you’ve officially stepped into King level. Your growth is literally the fastest I have ever seen. If I wasn’t training you personally, I definitely wouldn’t believe a freak like you exists!” Rak’Tharos said approvingly.
“That, and also probably due to my awesome teaching and powerful bloodline. Wahahaha! You’ve officially evolved into an Elemental Scaled Feline in human form! Thank me, little human girl!”
“Elemental Scaled Feline? Is that what you are?” Jennifer scrunched up her nose in distaste. She didn’t like the idea of scales and felines combined together. But beggars can’t be choosers.
Powering up through evolution triggered by Rak’Tharos’ blood was the only option available to her, and had no choice but to embrace it completely.
Very fortunately for her, she was completely compatible with his Bloodline, and she was even able to activate the ancient genes hidden within his bloodline!
As a life form, she was actually one level higher than even Rak’Tharos!
That was why the manifestation of her energy blades far exceeded the blades that Rak’Tharos had on his body.
And that was also precisely why she was able to detect Rak’Tharos through his stealth.
Bloodline.
As an ancient version of whatever lame elemental feline version Rak’Tharos had devolved to, Jennifer was able to acutely sense the presence of those with similar but inferior bloodlines compared to her.
Throughout the past few days, Jennifer had been subtly testing out the strange power that she seemed to have over Rak’Tharos.
Her words seemed to have more effect on him, and for some strange reason, he seemed much friendlier to her as well. In fact, in a few cases, he even outright obeyed her very mild suggestions!
Of course she had been very careful not to arouse his suspicions, and she had been acting meek towards him to cover for the times when he was actually doing things as she says.
And after she discovered that she could sense his presence and he couldn’t sense hers, she had very cleverly deduced that she had activated a higher bloodline compared to him.
“Bloodline suppression.” Jennifer had thought with a glimmer of thrill blooming in her heart. “I thought it was only found in stories. So apparently it’s true in real life as well.”
