Chapter 790: Ventus

Adam stepped out of the room just as the two security personnel at the end of the hallway by the elevator collapsed.

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Damn, that’s cold.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): What are you talking about? They’re clearly just unconscious.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): How can you tell?]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): The lack of a gaping hole in their chest.]

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Fair point.]

Ventus noticed Adam’s sudden appearance from the room, and as the pair locked eyes, Adam shot her a grin before he turned and bolted in the opposite direction while thinking, {Spector, seal the VIP box.}

[Affirmative.]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Damn, he’s fleeing; that’s not like the streamer.]

[OrangeeyedStace (Aqua Primus): It’s part of the plan.]

“After him,” Ventus ordered as she led the group of bounty hunters after Adam.

“Why the fuck did he choose now of all times to go for a piss?” One of them cursed.

“How the fuck should I know?” Ventus retorted before adding. “Sprig, deal with the second target; the rest of you shoot that bastard.”

“On it, boss,” Sprig replied before slowing down as he approached the vip booth Adam had just exited from.

Red blaster bolts tore down the hallway at Adam after the bounty hunters switched their weapons from stun to kill.

Adam ducked and dodged the incoming fire while asking, {How many more?}

[Two more; the VIP box after next is unoccupied.]

{Open the door.}

[Affirmative.] Spector replied as Adam saw the VIP box's door slide open just moments before he dodged another red blaster bolt and dived inside.

“Fuck, he went into the room,” One of the bounty hunters cursed.

“Good, that means he’s trapped, and we can follow the same plan we already had,” Ventus smirked before she slowed down and stopped just before the VIP box Adam had just entered.

Hugging the wall, she instructed the other four to do the same as she retrieved a small ball from one of her pockets.

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): Looks like you were right; they planned to use a stun ball to knock us all unconscious before finishing us off.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Looks like they plan to do that to the streamer.]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Shame it won’t work. Kekeke.]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): Poor idiots are in for a rude awakening.]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Well they’re not, and that’s the problem. Kekeke.]

Ventus nodded to her team members before she lobbed the stun ball inside the VIP box, and a moment later, a bright flash shone through the open doorway as well as out into the stadium through the open balcony as a high-pitched sound was heard.

Several people noticed the bright flash and heard the noise, but seeing as there didn’t seem to be anything happening in the VIP box it came from and because it wasn’t the one Muriel’s party was in, they quickly ignored it.

Ventus waited until the bright light had faded away before saying, “Go,” as she led her team into the VIP box with weapons raised.

“Where the fuck is he?” One of them asked as they saw no sign of Adam or his body.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Do a search and make it quick; that flash will have been noticed,” Ventus ordered before they all quickly searched the VIP box.

“Here…” one of them just started to say from in front of the long sofa at the edge of the balcony; however, he was cut off when his body disintegrated.

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Gotem. Kekeke.]

“What the fuck?” One of them cursed just before he saw Adam lean around the edge of the sofa and point some kind of stick at him. The last thing he saw before his body disintegrated was a flash of red light.

“COVER!” Ventus yelled as she quickly jumped over the VIP boxes bar and hid behind it.

“Why the fuck didn’t the stun ball work?” One of the group asked.

“Forget the stun ball; why are his shots causing us to disintegrate?” Another asked.

“We’ll figure it out later; just kill this bastard,” Ventus cursed.

“You know I was expecting more from a D-rank bounty hunter, but then again the entire guild is shoddy to begin with, so that’s not saying much,” Adam suddenly said from behind the sofa.

[Superherofangirl (Earth): Oh hell yeah, trash talk time baby.]

[CEOHopkins (Aqua Primus): He raises a good point I’ve been curious about for a while now, though. How did such an organisation get permission to operate in every galaxy? I mean, they can kill indiscriminately without consequences.]

[LadyErkath (Aqua Primus): That’s not quite correct, but I will explain later since Adam is still in the middle of something.]

“Better than an F-rank pussy like you?” One of the bounty hunters retorted.

“If I’m such a pussy, why are two of your comrades dead?” Adam asked before continuing. “Also, I’m only F-rank because I don’t work with the guild anymore; we had a falling out.”

“You mean when you blew up the guild hall and killed Director Drot?” Ventus asked.

“Technically I wasn’t the one who blew up the guild hall; my girlfriend was.”

[OrangeeyedStace (Aqua Primus): Damn straight.]

[OfficialLorelie (Aqua Primus): Still not really something to be proud of, Stace.]

[HackerSu (TIS-Starleap): Oh, I dunno, I think blowing up a bounty hunter guild hall would look rather good on the old resume.]

“Also, it was Drot who came after me and hired some other clown to try and kill me in a friendly mech battle; I was only acting in self-defence.”

“Are you trying to talk your way out of this, cause it ain’t gonna work,” The other bounty hunter replied.

“Well, that’s good, because I wasn't trying to; I was just giving you four a chance to walk out of here with your lives”

[SciFifanboy (Earth): What? Nooo, booo, kill um all.]

[RealOtaku (Earth): They ain’t bugs and you ain’t Jonny Reco.]

[SciFifanboy (Earth): Good film though.]

“Yeah, fat chance of that happening; we still have you outnumbered,” The other bounty hunter replied while Ventus asked in surprise. “Four?”

“Yup, I already know about the one still down in the parking lot; also, that guy you left to kill my girlfriend won’t even get in the room,” Adam replied.

[OfficialLorelie (Aqua Primus): Wait, this isn’t like Adam; normally he goes nuts when people try to harm us. Why’s he giving them a chance to walk away?]

[OfficialRowena (Aqua Primus): Perhaps the Temporal Displacement Syndrome started affecting him far earlier than we realised.]

[OfficialLorelie (Aqua Primus): That’s plausible.]

“How do you even know about him?” Ventus asked in surprise.

“Did you think you were the only ones who could hack the surveillance system?” Adam replied as he removed a small ball from his pocket before throwing it over the bar.

Ventus heard something drop near her, and as she glanced over at it and recognised what it was, her eyes widened in surprise. “Fuck!” She cursed as she went to jump back over the bar.

Unfortunately, she was too slow and suddenly a second flash of bright light, accompanied by a high-pitched sound, erupted in the room and was seen out in the stadium.

Ventus and the other bounty hunter were both caught in the stun ball's eruption and immediately fell unconscious, while Adam stood up and dusted himself off before walking towards Ventus.

As he did so, he pointed his force staff at the other bounty hunter and disintegrated him, before kneeling down next to Ventus and holding his uniband over hers.

Spector, scan her uniband and confirm that they are here because of the bounty,” Adam instructed.

[Affirmative, standby.]

[Confirmed. Ventus uniband history shows that the bounty information was checked mere moments before they arrived at the stadium.]

“Looks like I need to send the Bounty Hunter guild another message, one more serious this time,” Adam said with a scowl as he stood up and walked towards the door while disintegrating Ventus.

As he stepped out into the hallway, he saw the bounty hunter named Sprig still working on the VIP room Stacey and the others were in, so Adam calmly walked towards him while raising the force staff before disintegrating him.

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Damn, shot him in the back.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Technically it was the side.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): He still didn’t see it coming.]

[Superherofangirl (Earth): So seriously, why hasn’t the streamer destroyed the Bounty Hunter guild yet? It’s obvious they're going to keep coming after him.]

“Because there is a universe-spanning organisation,” Adam replied as he stepped into the elevator and descended to the parking lot.

[Superherofangirl (Earth): Ohh, the streamer answered us; that’s pretty rare.]

Adam ignored the comment before he continued, “They have guild halls in every galaxy of the known universe and on most of the inhabited planets. It would take too long to wipe them all out.”

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Then why not just attack the HQ and cut off the head of the snake?]

“It’s something I’ve considered in the past,” Adam admitted as the elevator door opened, and he looked out to see the bounty hunter named Fidget's eyes widen in shock as he saw who was in the elevator.

Adam didn’t say a word and simply aimed his force staff at Fidget before disintegrating him, after which he returned to the others.
