“What’s she doing here?” Lorelie asked in shock.

“Merle,” Rowena muttered as her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and concern.

“So that’s Merle Nosferatu,” Aphrodite remarked.

“She’s one of the twins who was involved in the incident with Stacey, right?” Tephe asked, causing everyone to remember something and turn to look at Stacey.

Stacey sat there glaring at Merle with a cold look.

“Granddaughter?” Rowena asked in concern.

“Stace?” Lorelie asked as she covered Stacey’s hand with her own.

As if suddenly remembering where she was, Stacey turned to Lorelie and smiled before saying in an emotionless voice, “I’m ok.”

“It doesn’t sound like you're ok,” Lorelie replied.

“Pardon the interruption, but is there a problem?” Grynrim asked as she looked at the group in confusion.

Adam opened his mouth to speak but suddenly found himself being dragged back down into his seat by Rowena, who was seated next to him.

“Rowena?” Adam asked in annoyance.

“I know how you feel, Adam, but now isn’t the time,” Rowena replied. “Lorelie’s a guest Sealord Aergagon personally wishes to meet in the coming days. You can’t go killing Merle without first discussing the matter with him.

Not only could it anger the Sealord, but it would also damage Lorelie’s reputation.”

“What if I kill her?” Stacey asked. “That shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

"Of course it’s a problem,” Rowena replied. “It’s well known that the two of you are in a relationship with Lorelie. Whether you want them to or not, your actions will have a direct influence on her reputation.”

“You haven’t stopped me from killing people in the past,” Adam retorted.

“That’s because most of them deserved it, and those that didn’t were killed in the middle of a restaurant full of witnesses,” Rowena explained in exasperation.

“Err, excuse me,” Grynrim said again.

“Lady Grynrim, would you accompany me for a moment?” Muriel asked as she stood up and stepped away from the group to a place where she couldn’t be overheard.

“Oh, of course,” Grynrim replied as she followed her.

“I’m sure you're confused about the entire situation, so allow me to fill you in,” Muriel stated before explaining Stacey’s history with Merle while the other women attempted to persuade Adam and Stacey to remain calm.

“She was actually part of such a cowardly plot?” Grynrim asked in surprise after hearing the story.

“That’s correct,” Muriel said, nodding.

“I understand why they're both talking about killing her,” Grynrim remarked.

“Exactly, and I’m sure you agree that such an action without informing Sealord Aergagon would be a bad move?” Muriel asked.

“Indeed, not to mention I would rather not have someone killed in my restaurant; it’s bad for business, you know,” Grynrim remarked.

“Then, as Sealord Aergagon’s official representative to Diva Lorelie, can I request that you immediately eject Merle Nosferatu and her party from the premises before the situation gets out of hand?” Muriel formally requested.

“That does indeed appear to be the best course of action,” Grynrim nodded before adding. “I will immediately take care of it.”

“I thank you for your assistance and understanding, Lady Grynrim.”

“Not at all, Lady Muriel,” Grynrim said before adding. “Though in return I request that at a later date you tell me all about Dive Lorelie’s interesting boyfriend.”

“Of course, Lady Grynrim,” Muriel replied before returning to her seat and saying. “It will be dealt with momentarily.”

“Huh?” Adam and Stacey asked before turning to stare at Merle, who was part of a group of six and hanging on the arm of a male Deverinian.

The group consisted of one female Brood, which was Merle, one male dragon, a male and female Deverinian, one female Solarian and a male Herpolisk.

“Erkath, any idea on the identity of the Deverinian whose arm Merle is hanging off?” Rowena asked.

“No, but the female one’s name is Zinran; she’s the niece of Rolvarud, a vice guild leader of the Bounty Hunter Guild,” Erkath replied.

“Is she part of the guild herself?” Lorelie asked as she remembered Adam’s hostility toward the guild

“No,” Erkath replied while shaking her head. “As far as I’m aware, she’s currently studying at Planaticia Academia.”

“Makes sense,” Rowena nodded. “Merle is of the age to be attending. She must also go there.”

“They’re probably all students there and came to Aqua Primus as part of their vacation,” Revi remarked.

“Well, there’ll be one student down by the time they return if I have anything to do with it,” Adam snarled.

“Babe, remember that she’s mine to kill,” Stacey warned. “The most I want you to do is help me apprehend her.”

“I remember," Adam nodded.

“Oh! It seems they are upset about something,” Tephe remarked.

“Probably the fact that Lady Grynrim just asked them to leave,” Muriel commented.

“Is that what you meant by it being dealt with?” Lorelie asked.

“Yes,” Muriel confirmed. “I requested that Lady Grynrim remove them from the premises before something unfortunate happened.”

“Looks like it worked; they're leaving,” Elemence commented.

{Spector, keep tabs on her.} Adam thought.

[Affirmative.]

“Good,” Lorelie stated before turning to Adam and Stacey and asking. “Will you two please calm down now? I would like to have a pleasant meal with everyone.”

Adam and Stacey glanced at each other before nodding just as the female staff member carrying drinks returned.

“Apologies for the wait; here are your drinks.”

“Thank you,” Lorelie said with a smile.

“It’s my pleasure, Diva Lorelie,” The staff member replied before departing.

“Here, drink up,” Lorelie instructed as she passed Adam and Stacey their drinks.

“Well, this evening certainly got off to an interesting start,” Erkath remarked as she took a sip of her drink.

Adam took a deep breath to calm himself down before saying, “My apologies for ruining the mood for everyone.”

“It’s fine; we all understand the reason for your reaction,” Erkath stated before smiling at him and saying. “But let’s try to enjoy ourselves from now on.”

Adam smiled and nodded before taking a sip of his own drink.

“That includes you, Stacey,” Lorelie instructed.

“Fine, fine,” Stacey replied.

“My apologies for stepping away all of a sudden,” Grynrim said as she reappeared.

“It’s fine, you stepped away to help us, after all,” Revi remarked.

“Thank you for your assistance, and I apologise for my earlier comment,” Adam suddenly said, surprising Grynrim.

“It’s quite all right; I know you didn’t mean any offence,” Grynrim replied. “Though we are yet to be introduced, Mr?”

“Spencer, Adam Spencer.”

“Whoa there, double o seven,” Emma teased, causing Adam to chuckle.

“Pardon?” Grynrim asked.

“Sorry, an inside joke from our homeworld,” Adam explained.

“Oh? You're both from the same planet within the Sandanar Galaxy?” Grynrim asked with interest.

“Haha, no, we’re not Terran,” Adam replied. “We’re from a planet called Earth.”

Grynrim wore a thoughtful expression and was about to ask when Tephe beat her to the punch.

“It’s outside the known universe.”

“Really?” Grynrim asked as she looked at Adam and Emma with rising interest.

“Why don’t you join us for our meal, Lady Grynrim? We would hate for you to be the only one standing while we talk,” Emma suggested.

“An excellent idea,” Lorelie stated with a smile. “Please, join us.”

Grynrim shook her head. “I would hate to intrude.”

“Nonsense, pull up a chair,” Revi remarked.

“Well, if you're going to insist, it would be rude of me to keep refusing,” Grynrim conceded with a smile.

“Excellent,” Rowena said, smiling before suggesting. “Then why don’t we proceed to our table?”

“Please, allow me to show you the way personally,” Grynrim stated before calling over a staff member and whispering some instructions.

As everyone nodded in agreement, they stood up and began to follow Grynrim.

Adam was surprised to find that one of his arms was suddenly taken by Erkath, who winked at him before asking, “So, what do you think of my dress?”

“I think it looks great on you; that colour really accentuates your beautiful red skin,” Adam remarked.

Erkath smiled as she heard his response before saying, “I’m happy to hear that. I thought you didn’t like it since you never commented about my skin colour last time we met.”

“Well, honestly, back then I didn’t know what to think,” Adam replied. “In a way, you and Tephe were the first true aliens I ever met.”

“What do you mean, true alien?” Erkath asked in confusion. However, before Adam could reply, he got distracted by the view.

A little further back from Adam and Erkath, Kasumi asked in a low voice, “Rowena, are you ok with this?”

“You mean Erkath?” Rowena asked.

“No, not that,” Kasumi sighed.

“Oh! You mean about Merle?” Rowena realised, to which Kasumi nodded.

“It’s fine; we may be part of the same family, but the only one I am closely related to is Amalia,” Rowena replied. “Besides, they made their choice when they acted against Stacey.”

“Then what about Amalia? She didn’t actively take part after all,” Kasumi asked.

“No, but she still needs to be punished for keeping quiet about it, even if she did it to protect her parents,” Rowena answered.

“Then what do you plan to do?” Kasumi asked as she looked at her friend in concern.

Rowena thought for a moment before shaking her head.
