Chapter 765: Erkath's denial

Normally Isabella would have been annoyed at the interruption, but this time she was more shocked at Emily’s statement.

“How are you aware of that?” Isabella asked.

“Adam told me,” Emily replied. “The knowledge is part of an agreement I have with him.”

“An agreement you have with him?” Isabella repeated. “What agreement?”

“I’ll explain some of it if you agree to my trade, since it involves what I need your assistance with,” Emily replied.

Isabella fell into thought before asking, “If you are aware of the identity of his mother, might I assume you also know the identity of his father?”

“I do not,” Emily admitted. “While I am curious, that wasn’t something he informed me of.”

“Alright, what assistance do you need in exchange for this meeting?” Isabella asked.

“I need you to arrange an opportunity for one of my associates or me to get close to Grace Williams,” Emily replied.

“Do you plan to eliminate her?” Isabella asked.

“No, not at all,” Emily said with a chuckle. “I simply need to acquire a sample of her DNA.”

“A sample of her DNA?” Isabella asked. “Does he wish to confirm that she’s his mother himself?”

“No, as far as I’m aware, he has already confirmed such,” Emily answered.

“Then why?” Isabella asked.

“That I’m not too sure about; perhaps you can ask him yourself after I arrange said meeting for you,” Emily proposed.

“While I still find it difficult to believe that you can arrange such a meeting, I’m willing to go against my better judgment and give you a chance,” Isabella replied.

“Then we have a deal?” Emily asked.

“We do, but wouldn’t it be easier for us to get you the DNA sample and pass it on to you?” Isabella asked. “Each of the five families has spies and informants placed in the others, after all.”

“While that would indeed be easier, the issue lies in the fact that it needs to be a fresh DNA sample, taken directly from Grace Williams before being quickly stored in a special container,” Emily explained.

“That does complicate things,” Isabella replied with a frown before falling into thought. “Then how about this…”

“So is everyone ready to go?” Muriel asked as the group congregated in the living room, which was above sea level.

It turned out that the house had at least two of every room; this was so there was always at least one submerged in the ocean and one above the ocean.

After arriving at the house, the group unpacked and relaxed a little before getting ready to go out to eat. Since Primus Depths was such a high-class restaurant, it had a dress code, meaning that while Adam wore a suit, the women all wore beautiful dresses of different styles and colours, which individually suited them.

It was truly a feast for Adam’s eyes, and as they felt his eyes on them, several of the women smiled at him by purposefully posing in ways that highlighted their curves.

As everyone nodded in response to Muriel's question, she smiled before opening the door and saying, “Then let's be off.”

This time it was Stacey and Lorelie who each took an arm as they walked down towards the dock where Cora was already waiting with her submersible.

As they walked, Lorelie squeezed Adam's arm slightly before quietly asking, “Sorry about earlier, babe. I hope you didn't get upset with how Muriel held me by the arm?”

“It’s fine; I trust you not to do anything you will regret later,” Adam replied as Stacey quietly listened in.

“I wont; I learned that lesson the hard way,” Lorelie replied.

“Is that why you said that back on the ship?” Adam asked.

“Said what?” Lorelie asked in confusion.

“The part where you said that anything between you and Muriel would only be for fun?” Adam answered.

“Is there something wrong with that?” Lorelie asked.

“Not explicitly, but can you say the same about your relationship with Stacey?” Adam asked. “After all, it’s pretty obvious that the two of you have feelings for each other.”

“Is that a problem?” Stacey asked in concern.

“Relax,” Adam said with a smile. “I have no problem with you two growing feelings for each other, or even any of my future lovers gaining feelings for one another. As long as you don’t suddenly decide that I’m no longer needed in the relationship.”

“No chance of that happening; we both love you too much,” Lorelie replied.

“Yeah, I’m afraid you're stuck with us,” Stacey added with a wink.

“I think I should be the one saying that, as even death wouldn’t allow you three to escape me,” Adam replied.

“Rather dark,” Stacey frowned.

“Sorry, I just meant that if anything ever did happen to you, I would travel back in time to prevent it,” Adam explained.

“While that’s sweet and all, you need to be careful about travelling in time, remember,” Lorelie cautioned.

“I know,” Adam replied.

“Good,” Lorelie smiled before asking. “Then are you saying I’m ok to develop feelings for the others in the future?”

“I’m saying you shouldn’t make absolutes when it comes to feelings,” Adam explained. “No one can control their feelings completely. Take me, for example, after Jenny’s death, I never thought I would have romantic feelings or fall in love again. Then you three appeared in my life, and look at me now. I have three gorgeous women I love dearly.”

As they heard his words, Stacey and Lorelie both flushed deeply before showing bright smiles.

“I think that’s the first time you've ever fully confessed your love to us in such a manner,” Stacey remarked.

Lorelie nodded in agreement before looking towards Rowena and calling, “Rowena.”

“Hmm?” Rowena replied as she stopped speaking to Erkath to look back at them over her shoulder.

“Adam says he loves you,” Lorelie stated with a smile.

Rowena’s eyes widened for a moment before a smile broke out on her lips as she looked at Adam and said, “Love you too, honey.”

As they heard this, the other women had mixed reactions. A couple of them smiled; a few of them wore confused expressions, while the rest shot jealous looks at Adam’s three lovers.

Lorelie smiled at the jealous looks before turning back to Adam and asking, “So if I’m following you right, you're concerned that in the future some of your lovers might gain feelings for each other that outweigh their feelings for you?”

“Pretty much,” Adam confirmed.

“Well, you have nothing to fear from the three of us since we all love you so much,” Stacey stated. “But what suddenly brought this up?”

“It was something Elemence brought up earlier,” Adam replied before going on to explain.

“Can’t believe you just right out and admitted it,” Erkath pouted.

“Jealous?” Rowena asked with a smirk.

“Me, jealous? Don’t know what you're talking about,” Erkath scoffed as Kasumi listened in with amusement.

“Oh, really?” Rowena asked as she gave Erkath a once-over before saying, “I notice you're wearing an emerald green dress, which would highlight your red skin. Normally, you would go for something more subdued, like silver, since this is just a meal between friends.”

“I simply fancied wearing emerald green tonight,” Erkath replied.

Kasumi gave Rowena’s black dress a once-over before saying, “Honestly, I’m surprised you're not wearing emerald green, since it highlights your red hair the best.”

Rowena shrugged before gloatingly saying, “Unlike you two, I have no need to go out of my way to attract his attention; I already have it.”

“Attract whose attention?” Erkath scoffed. “Neither of us has decided if we’re even willing to join.”

“You would much rather enjoy each other's company, huh?” Rowena teased, causing Kasumi to blush before she continued. “While I believe that dear Kasumi here is still undecided about the idea, your choice of dress leads me to think otherwise.”

“Elemence actually suggested that?” Lorelie asked thoughtfully.

“Yup,” Adam replied.

“Well, I can’t deny that Aphrodite has been helpful and kept her word,” Stacey stated, causing the other two to look at her in surprise.

“What?” Stacey asked.

“We’re just surprised, is all,” Adam replied as Lorelie nodded in agreement. “You're usually against anyone new joining.”

“Bah,” Stacey replied while rolling her eyes. “I never said she could join; I just mentioned that she had been helpful and kept her word to only watch and not touch.”

“Fine, fine,” Lorelie said with a smile. “But seriously, I wonder how long Aphrodite can keep this up. She must be nearing her limit of not feeding for so long.”

“What happens if she doesn’t feed?” Adam asked curiously.

“If she were a young Succuba, the desire to feed would overwhelm her to the point that she could literally rape someone,” Lorelie explained. “Luckily, Aphrodite is old enough to control those tendencies… for the most part.”

“For the most part?” Stacey replied with a smirk. You mean like when she broke into our bedroom?”

“Pretty much,” Lorelie said with a smile before continuing. “However, the most likely thing that would happen is that she would begin to age to the point where she would either wither away and die or be overcome by her need to feed.”

“It’s basically the same thing that happens to Brood if they don’t feed,” Stacey added.
