But these matters are not of current concern.

Now he has to go next door and handle some other matters.

Chen Ming stood up and left the office, leaving the building where he worked.

Like an ordinary researcher, he used the available commuting system on the terminal to call for a Shuttle Boat and set his destination.

Although he could use Spiritual Energy to go directly, Chen Ming suddenly wanted to travel slowly like this.

He personally commanded the Dusk to build this city according to his needs, and he had lived here for several months, but it seemed he had never truly experienced the life within the city.

So, since the task he needs to do is not urgent, why not take this opportunity to see the city he personally constructed?

The Shuttle Boat took off.

To prevent unexpected situations, numerous ground-based orbital defense facilities were built on the Planet, and orbital defense systems are also prepared in space.

Therefore, any spacecraft needs to access the planet’s atmosphere through designated areas; otherwise, it will be attacked.

Even though Chen Ming has absolute control over those defense facilities, he saw no need to go off the usual path at this time.

This also made it convenient for him to observe the city that belonged to him.

Chen Ming knew the city’s layout by heart. After all, the entire city was designed little by little under his watch according to his requirements.

He knew some knowledge of urban planning, anyway.

Although what he understood was related to industrial city planning, knowledge is interconnected, and he had some experience.

His involvement in the project was far more extensive than anyone else in a similar position.

However, seeing on a blueprint is one thing, and seeing it in reality is another.

When the Shuttle Boat ascended, the first glimpse Chen Ming saw out of the ship’s window gave him a sense of emptiness.

Although the city is full of towering skyscrapers, the empty streets and only a few scattered ships flying in the sky gave him this feeling.

Initially, the design of Research Center No.1 was a city capable of housing tens of millions.

Even with Dusk’s assistance, building a city of this scale in a mere three months or so wasn’t easy.

Typically, a city would start with a center and gradually expand outward.

But everything proceeded smoothly and naturally with Chen Ming’s aid of Spiritual Energy.

Swiftly, yet unreasonably so.

This led to the current reality where the entire Research Center No.1 feels absurdly empty.

Even though Chen Ming has relaxed the criteria for personnel coming here compared to before, the total number of researchers working here is just over ten thousand.

Including those who decided to settle and brought their families over, the total barely reaches around thirty thousand.

Almost everywhere, no one can be seen, only robots responsible for maintaining the city are in operation.

Chen Ming had tried his best to arrange the current inhabitants of the city together, but the outcome…

Yet the problem is not significant.

His Research Center No.1 has only been open internally for a little more than a month, and externally for less than two weeks, so it’s normal for the population to be sparse.

Chen Ming lost count of how many people the Empire had, but even if researchers were a small part of the Empire’s population, they would be enough to fill his colony.

No need to rush; just do what needs to be done well.

The Shuttle Boat circled above the city and, upon reaching the region where planet entry and exit were possible, flew straight into space.

In an instant, the Shuttle Boat broke through the atmosphere of Gaia Star, revealing the vast starry sky, along with the half-corpse of Plane Nightmare orbiting Gaia Planet.

And beside that half-corpse, a Space Station of similar size partially surrounded the corpse, facilitating research.

This Space Station, like the city on the ground, was built by Chen Ming with Spiritual Energy.

Though he was responsible for its construction process, all subsequent maintenance was entrusted to Dusk and various mechanical devices, robots, and other means.

Although the destination of the Shuttle Boat Chen Ming was in wasn’t the Plane Nightmare Space Station, Chen Ming opted to make a slight adjustment to his access, diverting the Shuttle Boat towards the station’s harbor.

Chen Ming’s own Space Station could be freely entered and exited, and he quickly witnessed the current state of the Space Station.

The situation at the Space Station was somewhat better compared to the ground.

Although the harbor wasn’t bustling, it nonetheless contained some vitality.

After all, it wasn’t as vast as the surface city, and a group previously organized by him had already arrived here.

He spent a moment by the harbor.

Chen Ming was about to leave when he suddenly saw the Director of Spiritual Energy driving a small car from the passage leading from the Space Station harbor to its interior, arriving in front of Chen Ming.

Jumping off the internal transit vehicle, the Director of Spiritual Energy said to Chen Ming: “I just received your communication, and I was wondering when you’d gather everyone to prepare for the next steps. Why are you here already? And visiting this place.”

“I happened to pass by, so I came to take a look. You know I’ve always been quite concerned about this project.”

Chen Ming has always been focused on the development of ship Spiritual Shield technology based on Plane Nightmare’s Spiritual Shield.
