Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station
Chapter 1339: Survivor
Chapter 1339: Chapter 373: Survivor
Looking at this spaceship left behind by the Shimmering Civilization.
Chen Ming struggled to resist the urge to send all equipment over to begin analyzing the spaceship right there.
Instead, he first observed the overall condition of the spaceship.
The external structure of the spaceship currently appears to have no issues whatsoever.
Even though the spaceship’s fuel had long been exhausted, and all systems requiring energy to operate had ceased working entirely, the spaceship had been stationed near the core of the black hole, almost face-to-face, for tens of thousands of years.
This spaceship still has no structural damage and remains intact.
The internal situation of the spaceship also appears completely fine.
Overall, it is exceedingly clean, with nothing that could be described as clutter arranged inside the spaceship.
Besides the clean first impression, the spaceship gives Chen Ming the feeling of a very sophisticated and compact integrated structure, without any scattered elements.
Combining the spaceship’s operating system and interior layout design, one can discern that the spaceship is adequately operated by one person, or at most no more than two.
Therefore, there are no items left behind by any former pilots on the spaceship.
Although the technology of the Shimmering Civilization is indeed strong, it is not to the extent that everyday items or some supplies could endure for tens of thousands of years.
With so much time passed, even inside the spaceship, anything that shouldn’t be there would have long disappeared.
This, however, prevents Chen Ming from confirming the specific appearance of the predominant species of the Shimmering Civilization, nor can he thereby discern the exact situation of the Shimmering Civilization.
However, by just looking at the interior design of the spaceship, one can still detect some common cultural elements of the Shimmering Civilization.
For instance, some insect-like marks are integrated as a kind of decoration into the daily life of the Shimmering Civilization.
This can be noticed from the shape design of the ground-level Mechanical Race units.
However, Chen Ming doesn’t care much about culture; every civilization has its culture.
He is more concerned about the technology of the Shimmering Civilization, especially whether there are other things left behind besides the spaceship.
There are indeed things, and it is something Chen Ming is interested in.
Inside a spaceship room at the back, probably a warehouse, of this Shimmering Civilization spaceship, a contraption that would qualify as Power Armor is placed.
There are also some accompanying weapons or individual-use weapons placed inside this small warehouse.
It seems that even if one is not a person of the Shimmering Civilization but an Imperial Person, they could easily handle these things once familiarized.
Over the past six months, Chen Ming studied the text of the Shimmering Civilization, and he also learned that the mainstream view currently suggests the predominant species of the Shimmering Civilization is likely humanoid.
Therefore, he is unsurprised by the presence of these items on the spaceship.
He is more curious if there are other types of things on the spaceship that he is interested in.
With this thought in mind, Chen Ming opened the set of Power Armor produced by the Shimmering Civilization.
Unfortunately, the inside of the Power Armor did not contain any bodies, nor were there signs of use.
It seems that after this spaceship passed through the wormhole, it was immediately attacked by black hole monsters, and the pilot was unable to don the Power Armor for protection and died.
As for the bodies, they likely had already been torn apart by black hole gravity, rotten inside the spaceship, and could no longer be found after the fuel ran out and lost the ability to protect internal structures and objects.
Chen Ming is unable to confirm the exact nature of the Shimmering Civilization’s predominant species through the bodies, nor can he use Resurrection Mechanical Fluid to revive a Shimmering Civilization individual to understand their past.
It’s bad news without a solution.
But at least the Power Armor is real, and those weapons are also truly existent and advanced.
Whether it’s Shimmering Power Armor or Shimmering Civilization’s individual weapons, their technological level evidently surpasses the relevant technology level currently mastered by the Empire.
Chen Ming can integrate this technology into his Biological Armor technology.
Or use it to exchange with the Empire for resources he needs.
Besides tangible items like Power Armor and weapons.
Chen Ming also found the storage unit containing the spaceship’s important data in the computer’s logs of this spaceship.
He can see from the storage unit’s data that this is a spaceship sent on a mission right after being manufactured.
And he can also see some basic data about the spaceship, including place of origin, developer, designer, among others.
From these contents, it can be seen that the societal structure of the Shimmering Civilization is similar to that of humans.
Moreover, he found a simple description of the final mission performed by this spaceship in the database of the spaceship computer.
Including the point of departure, destination, and content of the mission.
The destination, of course, is here, and the mission purpose is clear, even written on the spaceship’s name.
As for the point of departure, it is within the observable universe area of the Empire, which Chen Ming has not visited.
That location is a distance from the wormhole of the Primordial Star System, but it’s not excessively far.
There’s likely to be relics belonging to the Shimmering Civilization, or even military relics, there.
Of course, it cannot be ruled out that exploration of wormholes is a common project, and that the location is merely a typical relic.
It’s even possible that the departure point is left with nothing at all.
